It is with great honor and pleasure to invite you and your athletes to our 2019 International

Taekwondo Orlando Open at Kissimmee, Florida. This tournament will be held on Saturday,

November 2, 2019 at the Days Inn Hotel and Conference Center, 3011 Maingate Lane, Kissimmee

Coaches

Coaches Passes will be available the day of the tournament. One free coach pass per school.

Additional coach pass will be $20 per coach. Coach Passes are not transferable and may be

revoked at the discretion of the Tournament Director. Coaches are not necessary during forms

competition. NOTE: Coaches meeting to be held at 8:20 A.M.

Junior Safety Rules - JSR

Color belt competitors ages 12 – 17 will use the Junior Safety Rules (light contact to the head).

Legal kick techniques to the head, executed with control, will be scored as 3 points. Any

competitor that kicks and opponent’s face or head hard enough to cause bleeding or injury will be

disqualified. It will be the judgement of the center referee alone as to whether a technique to the

face or head should be counted as a point, a deduction, or a disqualification. Turning kicks to

the body 4 points, turning kicks to the head 3 points (JSR)

Adult Safety Rules

All black belts age 15 – 17 and senior will fight under adult rules, which is full contact to the

body and full contact to the head.

Referees will get stipend if they stay until the tournament is over. Your hotel room will be provided

with another referee (2 referees per room). If you check in prior to the Nov 1st and check out after

the Nov 3rd, you will be required to pay for those days at check in. Any other incidental charges

will be your responsibility. Referee, uniform black pant, white shirt, and red tie.

SPARRING DIVISIONS:

Sparring divisions will be divided by age, belt, and weight. The tournament director and/or the

Division Coordinator reserve the right to consolidate divisions to ensure that everyone competes.

Referees will get stipend if they stay until the tournament is over. Your hotel room will be

provided with another referee (2 referees per room). If you check in prior to the Nov 1st and

check out after the Nov 3rd, you will be required to pay for those days at check in. Any other

Individual Merits

Judges and referee will award scores based on the following merits

1. Correct and orderly execution of each movement.

2. Degree of proficiency which will be judged on the basis of:

1) Beginning and ending the Poomse at the same spot

2) Executing powerful and speedy techniques by tensing and

relaxing muscles at the proper moment.

3) Mental concentration

4) Focused eye and head movements

Participating coaches at the International Taekwondo Orlando Open are required to abide by

Taekwondo tenets which define the spirit of a good martial artist and the atmosphere of this

tournament:

Courtesy (behavior that demonstrates consideration, cooperation, and generosity)

Integrity (honesty, trustworthiness, and incorruptibility)

Perseverance (determination, commitment, faithfulness)

Self-Control (exercising restraint over one's impulses, self-discipline)

Any coaches yelling undesirable remarks, stopping matches without merit or any misconduct on

the part of the contestant or the coach will result in immediate disqualification. The coach and

his/her team will be escorted off the premises by local law enforcement.
