Each week thousands of Scouts throughout the Pony Express Council raise their right hand, make the Scout sign, and recite the Scout Oath and Law. They make a promise to do their best to do their duty to God and Country and to help other people at all times.

For more than 104 years, the Pony Express Council has been delivering positive, life-changing experiences for all youth served.

Once again, we accomplished another successful year in 2019 as we saw new programs added at Camp Geiger as well as continuing camp improvements.

We had more than 3,000 Scouts living out the Scouting adventure at one of our several summer camping opportunities locally. Scouts and Scouters from fifteen states continue to call Camp Geiger their home for camping and adventure! Scouts from our council also attended the 24th World Scout Jamboree that was held at the Bechtel Scout Reserve in West Virginia.

Forward thinking along with new and innovative programs and continual focus on strengthening our assets have helped position the Pony Express Council to continually serve all young people.

2019 brought on the change of Scouts BSA that includes all youth ages 11 years old to the age of 18 as well as the continuation of the Lion program for kindergarten age Cub Scouts and the recruitment of girls into our existing Cub Scout packs.

Our council continues to be fiscally sound. All assets of the Pony Express Council are owned by the Pony Express Council, governed by a local executive board made up of men and women throughout our entire council territory.

Scouting and everything it gives back to the community could not be accomplished if it were not for the ongoing continued dedication and support of all adult Scouting volunteers and hundreds of other community businesses and leaders who believe so strongly in the values and guiding principles of the Boy Scouts of America.
