Degree: Bachelor of Business Administration – Technology Management

Graduates of any 3-year diploma program may receive 60 transfer credits towards this degree. Additional Seneca coursework may increase the amount of transfer credit to a maximum of 66 transfer credits (grade of C or better is required for a course to transfer). Students must fulfil the equivalent of at least 5 of the 10 S.U.N.Y. General Education categories with a GPA of 2.0 to be eligible for admission into this degree. Alfred State College offers this program fully online as well as on-site at the Alfred campus.

Seneca graduates of 2-year diploma programs with a GPA from 2.5 to 2.99 may be eligible for up to 15 credits and graduates with a GPA of 3.0 to 4.0 are eligible for up to 45 credits towards a related 90-credit 3-year degree or a 120-credit 4-year degree in a related degree.

Degree: Bachelor of Business Administration (Brampton) – Bridge

Graduates from a 2- or 3-year business diploma may be eligible to receive 45 to 60 transfer credits, respectively towards their degree (advanced standing). Graduates who receive advanced standing and begin in the fall semester can complete the BBA degree in 4 to 5 semesters as a full-time student. Graduates from any 3-year non-business diploma may be eligible for up to 30 transfer credits towards this degree. Graduates from any 2-year non-business diploma may be eligible for up to 15 transfer credits

towards this degree. Graduates entering with any non-business diploma will be required to complete a bridging semester of 5 introductory business courses in the spring/summer.

Graduates from an accredited Canadian College Social Service Work (SSW) program can apply as transfer students to Laurier’s Bachelor of Social Work degree program. Graduates of all Ontario College Child and Youth Care diploma programs completed in 1996 or later with a cumulative average equivalent to a B (73%) or better will be eligible for entry into Disability Studies and Psychology Degree Completion Programs for CYC Graduates and are eligible to apply for entry into the Honours Bachelor of Social Work for CYC Graduates. Admission Requirements: Seneca students will be considered for admission to undergraduate degree studies at York with successful completion of a minimum of 2 full semesters of academic study in an academic program. A minimum cumulative GPA of a 3.0 on a 4-point scale including all attempted courses is required. These are minimum requirements only. Some programs will require a higher average for admission, or supplementary application requirements and specific high school senior level prerequisites. Transfer Credit: While we offer guidelines as to how much transfer credit may be expected for the programs outlined below, transfer credit is assessed on an individual basis only after an admissions decision is made. The amount of transfer credit a student receives is dependent on individual course grades, the academic content, length of program completed and prior postsecondary studies (if applicable). How these credits are applied toward a student’s degree at York will vary by program. The number of credits you receive and the number of credits required to complete your degree may not match exactly. Graduates of Seneca’s Arts & Science University Transfer diploma program with a minimum GPA of 3.0 (B or 70%) or 3.3 (B+ or 75%) (depending on the York University program) will be eligible for admission consideration, and granted a block of 48 transfer credits (inclusive of the YKC and YKL courses successfully completed) into any York University degree program (except for the Schulich BBA and IBBA degree programs). Applicants will also need to meet any additional program specific admission requirements. Students enrolled in Seneca’s Arts & Science University Transfer diploma program may apply to take up to 12 York credits while they complete their program. To be eligible, students must have completed all 1st- and 2nd-semester courses of the Arts & Science University Transfer diploma program, be enrolled in required 3rd-semester courses and have an overall GPA of at least 3.3 (B+ or 75%). Graduates of the aforementioned Seneca program who have completed the maximum 12 additional York University courses while pursuing their program, may receive a total of 60 York University credits (including the 48 block credits).

Note: Graduates of Seneca’s Arts & Science University Transfer diploma program are deemed to have satisfied the pre-requisites equivalent to: Mathematics (MHF4U, MCV4U), Chemistry (SCH4U), Biology (SBI4U) and Physics (SPH4U). Graduates of Seneca’s Biotechnology advanced diploma program with a minimum GPA of 3.3 (B+ or 75%) will be eligible for admission consideration, and granted a block of 51 transfer credits into the Honours Bachelor of Science in Biology degree. Students enrolled in Seneca’s Biotechnology advanced diploma program will be allowed to register for BIOL 1001 3.0 and BIOL 2040 3.0 at York University (normally during the summer term after the completion of semesters 1 and 2) while they pursue their diploma at Seneca. To be eligible, students must have completed all 1st and 2nd semester courses of the Biotechnology advanced diploma program and have an overall GPA of at least 3.3 (B+ or 75%). Students who have completed 1st semester courses and are enrolled in 2nd semester, may also be conditionally admitted with an overall GPA of at least 3.3 (B+ or 75%) so long as they meet any additional program specific admission requirements.


Degree: Bachelor of Commerce (BCom)

Graduates who meet the admission requirements, have a minimum GPA of 3.3 overall with at least a “C” or better in every course completed are eligible for a maximum of 45 transfer credits (the equivalent of a year and a half) for the General BCom degree and 48 transfer credits for the Honours BCom degree. Graduates who do not maintain a C or better in every course are eligible for a maximum of 42 credits. Seneca Program: Acting for Camera & Voice

Degree: Bachelor of Fine Arts

Graduates of this program who have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and have met any additional program admission requirements will be considered for this degree. Candidates must complete an audition or other evaluation. Graduates of the Acting for Camera & Voice diploma will be granted a total block of 48 transfer credits when entering the BFA degree. Students may apply to York University to take up to 12 credits in the BFA program, while they pursue their Acting for Camera & Voice studies at Seneca, provided they have completed all 1st and 2nd-semester courses and have an overall GPA of at least 3.0. Students may enroll in the summer session between the 1st and 2nd year and/or in the summer after the completion of their Seneca diploma. Graduates who have taken the 12 additional York credits while completing their Acting for Camera & Voice diploma may therefore earn up to 60 credits upon transfer. Students must earn a minimum of 120 credits to complete an Honours degree at York University.

• an honours degree (four years) may involve a higher level of concentration and achievement within the honours subject and may require additional credit

Graduate Certificate Program• builds on knowledge and experience

gained through previous postsecondary study

• requires a degree or diploma certificate for admission

Major/Minor• a major indicates a specialization with

a number of courses drawn from one particular subject area

• a minor indicates a lesser degree of specialization with only a few courses drawn from one particular area

Master’s Degree (Graduate Degree)• after an undergraduate degree, a

master’s degree usually requires at least one year of full-time studies and includes a thesis, research paper or practicum
