1. Date of Convocation

The 07th Convocation Ceremony will be held at Dewan Merdeka, Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC), Kuala Lumpur. Registration Date : 10th December 2019 Day : Tuesday Time : 11.00 a.m. – 2.00 p.m. Rehearsal Date : 10th December 2019 Day : Tuesday Time : 2.30 p.m. – 5.30 p.m. Convocation Day Date : 11th December 2019 Day : Wednesday (1 session) Time : 7.30 am – 1.00 pm Please visit our website at www.mchm.edu.my for the latest information.

2. Graduation Fees 4.1 The Graduation Fee is RM 300.00 only. 4.2 Payment can be made by either one of the followings :

i. Online payment (internet banking) through “JomPay” from any local banks.

4.3 Please bring along the ORIGINAL COPY of your proof of payment on 10th December 2019 during the

Registration Day for confirmation of your payment and attendance.

4.4 Please be reminded that Scroll, Academic Transcript and other Certificate of study will only be released

after the convocation and after all outstanding fees are paid. The fee may include tuition fees and all other borrowings from MCHM. All outstanding MUST BE SETTLED BY 30 NOVEMBER 2019 at the Department of Finance, MCHM. Refer to 4.2 for the methods of payment.

3. Attendance

3.1 Please make sure the payment slip is ready (scanned or captured through your mobile phone / camera). 3.2 Visit www.mchm.edu.my and complete the confirmation of attendance form by 30 November 2019. The

payment slip must be email to norfarhanah@mchm.edu.my. 3.3 Attendance is confirmed subject to the settlement of all fees with the college. 3.4 Graduands are not allowed to defer the Convocation Ceremony or nominate others to attend the

Convocation on their behalf without the approval of college. 3.5 Registration and Rehearsal will be held on Tuesday, 10th December 2019 at the Registration Counter,

PWTC, Kuala Lumpur. Registration will begin from 11.00 am until 2.00 pm.

4. Queue Card 4.1 Each graduand will receive a Queue Card during Registration Day. The Queue Card states your name and

academic programme which to be announced electronically. 4.2 The card will only be distributed during the Registration & Rehearsal day. 4.3 The card MUST BE be presented to the Floor Manager during the Convocation Day on the 11th

December 2019. 4.4 Lost of card will incur a penalty fee of RM 20.00 and a replacement card can only be processed during

the Registration Day. 5. Invitation Card

5.1 Each graduand will receive two (2) invitation cards for only two (2) guests to attend the Convocation Ceremony.

5.2 The invitation card is considered as the Entrance Pass and to be distributed to the graduands on the

Registration Day. 5.3 IMPORTANT: The Entrance Pass MUST be shown at the entrance of Dewan Merdeka. Please give

the Invitation Card to your parents / guests so that they can show to the University Officer when entering the Hall.

5.4 No new card will be issued for the lost of Pass (Invitation Card).

6. Briefing & Rehearsals 6.1 A Convocation Briefing and Rehearsal session will be held at Dewan Merdeka, PWTC as follows;

6.2 All graduands are COMPULSORY to attend the briefing and rehearsal. This will familiarize the graduands

with the flow of event. 6.3 Failure to attend the Briefing and Rehearsal session may result in graduands being barred from the

Convocation ceremony.

7. Graduation Monitoring Survey (TRACER Online System)

7.1 All graduands are required to fill out the online Graduate Monitoring Survey 2019 starting from 20th

November 2019 until 11th December 2019 through the following survey system; (Please follow the attached Appendix 1 as a guide)

7.2 Graduate Monitoring Survey (Sistem Kajian Pengesanan Graduan), Ministry of Education Malaysia (Website: http://graduan.moe.gov.my)

7.3 Please print the Survey Slip at the end of the survey. The Survey Slip must be brought and

presented at the Registration Counter as a proof of attendance during the Registration Day. On 10th December 2019.

8. Convocation Robes: Collection and Return

8.1 Graduands are to ensure that all the relevant payments have been made.

8.2 Graduands also are to ensure that;

(a) the academic robe / hood received are in good condition; and

(b) the correct colour according to your school official colour (will be advised during collection process).

8.3 Robes must be collected by the graduands in person.

8.4 Graduands are not allowed to alter or amend any part of the robes. The Secretariat will not be liable for

any lost or damaged items. 8.5 The collection and return of the robe / hood will take place at the Dewan Tun Dr. Ismail A & B, Level 2,

PWTC, Kuala Lumpur. The schedule as follows;

9. Convocation Dress Code

9.1 All Graduands attending the Convocation Ceremony are to dress appropriately for the auspicious

ceremony:

Ladies Gents

a) Long dress which cover until the ankles /maxi skirt,

long sleeved shirts / blouse / suit, baju kurung. Shorts skirts are STRICTLY PROHIBITED.

b) The hijab (tudung) should be light in colour. c) Black or dark colour shoes and fully covered. Bright or

white colour are STRICTLY PROHIBITED. d) Sport shoes / Slippers / Open Back or Front Shoes / Bright are STRICTLY PROHIBITED e) The attire of pantsuits is allowed. f) Face-covering attire is prohibited.

a) Long sleeves with collar, necktie and coat, dark trousers or dark lounge suit, dark shoes with black socks b) Jeans and shorts are STRICTLY PROHIBITED. c) Sport shoes / Slippers / Open Back or Front Shoes / Bright are STRICTLY PROHIBITED d) Hair styles should be short and neat.

9.2 The Convocation is a university event. Graduands who do not adhere to the dress code will NOT BE

ALLOWED to join and enter the convocation hall.

10. Graduands’ Procession 10.1 Graduands MUST SHOW the Queue Card before entering the line-up. 10.2 All graduands are reminded to gather at the designated area outside of Dewan Merdeka at 7.30 am. The

procession to enter the hall will commence at 8.00 am WITHOUT DELAY. 10.4 Graduands who are late will NOT BE ALLOWED to be part of the procession and your Queue Card will

be AUTOMATICALLY CANCELLED. 10.5 During the Ceremony, graduands are required to follow all the rules and regulations from the Floor

Managers.

10.6 The entrance door will be CLOSED after the final graduand enters the convocation hall. NO MOVEMENT OF IN-OUT will be allowed after that.

10.7 Graduands and Guests with special cases (pregnant, disabled or injured) need to inform the college at

least 2 weeks before the Convocation Day for a special arrangement. 11. Conferment Arrangement 11.1 The arrangement of seating for graduands will be decided by the Floor Manager according to your

academic programmes. 11.2 Graduands will receive their scrolls on the stage. Your name will be recited through the QUEUE CARD. 11.3 Graduands ARE NOT ALLOWED to leave the hall until the ceremony ends. This is to give a full

respect to the Convocation Ceremony, graduands and to fulfill the stated tradition. 12. Guest Guide 12.1 Parents and guests are advised to have breakfast before entering the hall. 12.2 Dress Code (Gents) : National Dress / Lounge Suit / ‘Batik’ / Proper Attire (Ladies) : National Dress / Neat / Proper Attire 12.3 Parents and guests shall enter the hall through the doors that have been identified by the Floor Manager. 12.4 IMPORTANT: Guests under 12 YEARS OLD ARE NOT ALLOWED into the Convocation Hall. 12.5 Mobile phones must be ‘SWITCHED OFF’ or set in ‘SILENT MODE’. 12.6 Parents and guests are prohibited from bringing bouquets or flowers or souvenirs into the hall as they may

disrupt the seating arrangement of other guests. Kindly turn-off your flash of camera. 12.7 The use of ‘FLASH LIGHTS’ is ‘STRICTLY PROHIBITED’ as it might affect the quality of photos taken by

our professional photographers. No one is allowed to come up to the front row to take photographs or video during the Convocation Ceremony.

12.8 Guests ‘ARE NOT ALLOWED’ to leave the hall until end of the ceremony. 12.9 Guests are advised to follow the instructions upon entering and leaving the hall as to ease the flow of

movement. Again, NO MOVEMENT OF IN-OUT during convocation ceremony. 13. Collection of Certificates / Diplomas 13.1 Graduands may collect their scrolls / transcripts as soon as the convocation session is over until 4.00 pm at

the lobby of Dewan Merdeka. 13.2 Additional fee will be charged to get an extra copy of transcript. It should be done at the University/College

office. 13.3 All graduands are required to settle the outstanding fees. The fee may include tuition fees and all other

borrowings from MCHM. Official certificates / transcripts / APC / diplomas, etc will not be released unless the fee is fully paid.

Graduands cooperation in adhering to the rules and regulations of MCHM 07th Convocation is very much

appreciated.

TIPS

1) In case of emergency during the event / ceremony, kindly contact the Dean / Programme coordinator. 2) Graduans, Guests and friends should arrive minimum of one hour before the Ceremony. 3) Parking will be available at basement of PWTC.

10. ( ) With the QUEUE CARD in hands and INVITATION CARDS with guests, all must congregate at

the stipulated area at Dewan Merdeka, PWTC. Guests will be guided to their seats immediately. The main door will be CLOSED FOR IN-OUT MOVEMENT by 8.00 am for all guests for committee and Floor Manager preparation.

11. ( ) Returned the robe / hood on the 11 December 2019 ONLY from 1.00 pm to 4.00 pm.

Graduates Tracer Study

All Higher Education Institutions in Malaysia including MALAYSIAN COLLEGE OF HOSPITALITY &

MANAGEMENT (MCHM) involved in this Tracer Study, an online-based survey, since 2012 which is made

compulsory by the Ministry of Education. The study aims to assess the level of 'employability' and

'marketability' of graduates. It also seeks the views / perceptions of graduates on the effectiveness and

quality of its academic programs.

All graduands are required to fill in the questionnaire survey online at http://graduan.moe.gov.my. The

questionnaire is opened for graduands of Malaysian College of Hospitality and Management (MCHM). The

system will be made available online from 20 November 2019 until 11 December 2019. However, graduands

from all campuses are required to fill in the survey before 11 December 2019 to allow you to print the

Survey Slip (refer to the instruction below). The slip of Tracer Study must be shown at the registration

counter during Registration Day on 10 December2019 itself. Below is the guideline in order to complete

the survey.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

Again, all graduands must complete the survey and print the Tracer Survey Slip. This is required by the

Ministry of Education. Bring the slip to the Convocation Ceremony registration session on 10 December

2019. Failure to do so, may PREVENT you from joining the Convocation Ceremony.
