Tenure provides a measurement of home ownership, which has served as an indicator of the nation’s economy for decades.This data covers all occupied housing units, which are classified as either owner occupied or renter occupied. These data areused to aid in the distribution of funds for programs such as those involving mortgage insurance, rental housing, and nationaldefense housing. Data on tenure allows planners to evaluate the overall viability of housing markets and to assess the stabilityof neighborhoods. This indicator reports the number of grocery stores per 100,000 population. Grocery stores are defined as supermarkets andsmaller grocery stores primarily engaged in retailing a general line of food, such as canned and frozen foods; fresh fruits andvegetables; and fresh and prepared meats, fish, and poultry. Included are delicatessen‐type establishments. Conveniencestores and large general merchandise stores that also retail food, such as supercenters and warehouse club stores areexcluded. Mortality ‐ Premature Death

This indicator reports Years of Potential Life Lost (YPLL) before age 75 per 100,000 population for all causes of death, age‐adjusted to the 2000 standard. YPLL measures premature death and is calculated by subtracting the age of death from the 75year benchmark.
