John Madejski Academy is proud to be part of The White Horse Federation Multi-Academy Trust

With a track record of improvement in standards and attainment, TWHF believes that every child should achieve all that they are capable of and more, regardless of background, culture, heritage, or ability. We genuinely believe that working in partnership with our schools, students, and their parents, as well as the wider community, helps creates the best possible outcomes for all our young people.

Dr Nicholas Capstick OBECEO and Board Member

The White Horse Federation (TWHF) is a high-performing multi-academy trust, which supports primary, secondary, special, and teaching schools across Wiltshire, Gloucestershire, Swindon, Oxfordshire, and Berkshire. At its heart is a belief that we want to develop the type of schools that we would be proud to send our own children to. We do this with a relentless drive for academic excellence blended with a shared moral purpose and shared values, but also with an awful lot of fun and happiness in our schools.

At John Madejski Academy Sixth Form, academic achievement comes first. This belief lies at the heart of everything we do. We expect the very best from our students and work hard to ensure that all are challenged and inspired to achieve their full potential. We recognise that in order to succeed students need to feel happy and supported. At the sixth form we combine a caring and friendly approach within a studious and well-ordered environment. Students are valued and given the opportunity to be role models for the rest of the school community.

A broad and balanced curriculum is offered as well as support, advice and guidance to provide a positive successful experience for all our students. We are extremely proud of the of students who are graduating from our Sixth form to achieve further successes; whether that be attaining a place at a UK University, gaining employment, pursuing further study, or even achieving sports scholarships in the USA.

Our areas of specialism are key components of our success within the sixth form. Our prestigious Performance Sport and Performing Arts programmes attract youngsters with exceptional aptitude in these areas from the local area and beyond. We organise our curriculum so that students on these programmes have the same access to the broad curriculum offer that their peers receive whilst also supporting their performance development.

PERFORMING ARTS

Being part of the BTEC Performing Arts changed my life. I don’t know where I would be without the experiences I had over the two years I was part of the group. It gave me so much confidence to be who I am and also pushed me to places I never thought I would be capable of reaching. It wasn’t just because of the subject, it was also the teachers, the school and the people I was surrounded with. They made me realise what I was good at and helped me get to where I am now studying Drama at University. I honestly owe so much to those two years and wouldn’t change them for the world.
