Dear Parishioners,
On this Sixth Sunday of Easter, Sacred Scripture exhorts us to love one another as Christ has loved us. St. Peter teaches us that Jesus’ love is to be revealed to the entire world by the disciples of the Lord.
Please keep in your prayers Jasmin Cervantes, Cece Chau, Jayden Chau, Alexis Garcia, Lesley Garcia, Ever Hernandez, Gisselle Hernandez, Avarie Porter, Jzabehl Rodriguez and Jordan Zayas who will make their First Holy Communion at the Noon Mass this weekend. We ask abundant blessings upon them and their families at this time of grace in their lives.
Join in prayer this Sunday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. with our diocesan family as Bishop Parkes consecrates the diocese to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. You can participate in the consecration via live stream on our diocesan website www.dosp.org. We have so much good work to do for the Lord. Let us entrust our evangelization and outreach to the care and intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
!is !ursday, May 10, is forty days after Easter and is the traditional date for the Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord. In the Province of Miami, the solemnity is transferred to the Sunday following, hence this !ursday, the Ascension is not observed in the Diocese of St. Petersburg. We will observe the Solemnity on Sunday, May 13.
Please remember to return Mother’s Day envelopes with the names of moms written on the outside so they may be placed in the sanctuary during the month of May. Envelopes are found in the stewardship packets mailed to homes and in the church narthex. We pray for our living and deceased moms in a special way throughout the month. May God bless them.
!rough the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, may you and your families be blessed – Father Kovanis

3rd Quarter Report
Dear Parishioners,
Stewardship is embedded in the New Commandment of Jesus Christ, “Just as I have loved you, you also must love one another. By this love you have for one another, everyone will know you are my disciples” (John 13:34-35). Jesus promises the Holy Spirit will come to those who love Him and keep His commandments (Jn 14:15-16). If the incarnation and death of the Son was an act of the Father’s love, the indwelling after the resurrection is a special act of love for the disciples and every Christian. !e Holy Spirit acts within each person as well as the whole Church, animating, vivifying and sanctifying. Stewardship, the grateful response of this action, is a concrete manifestation of the indwelling spirit.
!ank you to those who have answered the call to intentional stewardship of prayer, participation and portion. Our third quarter #nancial report highlights the generosity of those who give sacri#cially and our sta$ who uses resources wisely.

CATHOLIC IQ ANSWERS:
1. “Alleluia” meaning Praise God is a word borrowed from the Hebrew.2. False. For the earliest Christians, every Sunday was a little Easter. Not until the second century is there evidence of an
annual celebration of Easter. !e Council of Nicea o#cially established the date of the annual Easter feast in 325.3. Easter Sunday, the “$rst day of the week” (see Luke 24:1) evokes the story of creation (Genesis 1). !is shows that the
Resurrection marked a new beginning, a new covenant, and a new creation.
