For a year or so before the inaugural LSSS, Tommy Phillips, who had grown up bracket racing in a 6-8 hour drive of the DFW metroplex had been trying to come up with a way to revitalize big money bracket racing “at home.” In late 2013, Tommy decided to go out on a limb, chase down some local and national sponsorship, and put on a race that could pay good prize money without costing a fortune for racers to attend. The 2017 LSSS was a tremendous hit and has grown larger every year since then. The LSSS philosophy is simple:

1. Focus on long term stability and growth for our participants and sponsors rather than short term profitability.2. Continually try to attract and retain marketing partners, then invest those new resources back into the event as well as our people.3. Find new ways to deliver real value to our partners and participants. Getting these two groups to work together is the key to long term success.4. Develop and implement ways for more participants to win or accomplish something each year. Not just a “winner wins” event.5. Deliver a great event from a competition and entertainment perspective that no one wants to miss!!
