Transcript of 2018 - Amazon S3Resume normal schedule Thursday, January 3rd, 2019. Crestview donations for...
"Ah... Ah... Ahchoo!" is often followed
by "Bless you!" Have you heard this exchange
recently? Most likely you have, because we
are entering into the heart of cold and flu season!
A few years ago, I was serving at another church
when we had a surplus of designated funds for school
supplies. (Surplus and funds aren't two words I have used in
the same sentence very much in 11 years of ministry!) We went to the local high school and
asked to adopt a couple of newer teachers to help them restock their classrooms for the
spring semester. The teachers got together and asked us if we could use the money to purchase
boxes of facial tissue (don't worry, in every day conversation I call them "Kleenex" too!)
with the funds for the teachers to use in their classrooms. Teachers frequently are in need of
kleenex (any brand!) this time of year.
And so in January, Crestview is starting a "Bless You!" drive with our partner school
McEachron Elementary. Everyone is invited to bring unopened boxes of tissues to church to
be donated to the classrooms at McEachron! In this way, we will bless the teachers and
students of our partner school! Hope to see you bring in lots of boxes in January!
Blessings, Pastor Kara

EXIT
EXIT
EXIT Crestview leadership would like to reiterate some safety
basics in case of emergency for our community members. We
are not anticipating any impending emergencies at our church
any time soon, but we want to make sure people are always as
safe as we can make them in our building!
In addition to the three doors at the back of the sanctu-
ary, there are also two doors at the front of the sanctuary that
lead to an additional exit outside. Egress from both of these
exits requires using the stairs, so if mobility is an issue, exit-
ing at the back of the sanctuary is a much better option.
When facing the front of the sanctuary, the exit on the
right leads down a flight of stairs and to an outdoor ex-
it. When facing the front of the sanctuary, the exit on the left
requires going down an entire flight of stairs, across the hall-
way, and up a few stairs to get out of the same exit.
Thank you

Because of your generosity, and the Topeka community, we were able to provide food and gifts to our neighbors in need.
Along with the start of a new year also comes the cold weather and high utility bills. Please re-member your neighbors who are struggling to pay those high bills when looking for a place to donate. Doorstep offers utility assistance to individuals and families throughout the year as funds are available.
Souper Bowl Sunday is February 3rd! Just around the corner! On this weekend we ask our mem-ber congregations to collect soup and crackers to help restock our food pantry. A can of soup can be a meal, and in the past, with a successful collection, we have had soup and crackers to last us into the sum-mer months! Please remember Doorstep when you go grocery shopping, and pick up a few items for your neighbors in need.
Also, mark your calendars for the 16th Annual Operation Soup Line! This year it will be on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 from 11am – 2pm!
Doorstep is open Monday – Friday, 8am – 3pm for donations. We are located at 1119 SW 10th Street (10th & Buchanan). We ask that you do not leave donations outside our building when we are not here. They often become a parking lot mess. Thank you!
