Conference Highlights•Live case transmissions from the state-of-the-art Scripps Prebys

Cardiovascular Institute•Plenary lectures from internationally known leaders•Ample question and answer time with expert faculty•Attendee receptions with networking opportunities among colleagues•Diverse satellite symposia and pre-conference seminar on the latest

advances

Target AudienceThis course is designed for interventional cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, vascular surgeons, internists, nurses, cath lab technicians, perfusionists, registered cardiovascular invasive specialists, radiologic technologists, and those with a special interest in interventional cardiology. No experience in interventional cardiology is required, however a basic understanding of the field is recommended.

Educational ObjectivesAfter attending this activity, participants should be able to:

•Apply new technical approaches to specific lesion subsets such as bifurcation lesions, left main lesions, chronic total occlusions and saphenous vein graft disease

• Integrate the latest guidelines and practice improvements into the management of myocardial function

•Discuss new techniques under development for percutaneous cardiac valve repair and replacement

•Reduce common catheterization laboratory patient complications using new techniques and technologies

•Critique the latest evidence supporting new cardiac imaging modalities such as IVUS, OCT and FFR guided stent deployment

•Prescribe the appropriate antithrombotic therapies based on the latest data and guidelines

Course OverviewCardiologists are trained during their fellowship years in the latest techniques, technologies, standards of practice and guidelines for patient care. However, the practice of medicine changes rapidly and the discipline of interventional cardiology changes dramatically each year. Changes in interventional cardiology directly impact patient care and require constant updates to physician knowledge and practices. Physicians rely on journal articles, interaction with colleagues and lectures throughout the year to keep their knowledge up-to-date. The primary purpose of the “29th Annual Cardiovascular Interventions” symposium is to provide the practicing physician and cardiovascular care team with a concentrated exposure to new developments in interventional cardiology that will positively influence patient outcomes.

The 2018 scientific program has been carefully designed by consulting recent key clinical trial data, articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals, physician focus groups, past evaluations, and needs assessments. By attending this program, participants will learn the latest advances and debates in interventional cardiology. They will return to their practice environment armed with the latest evidence-based, practical information to improve patient care and outcomes.

Introduction

CME Accreditation and DesignationPromedica International is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. Promedica International designates this live activity for a maximum of 23 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Nursing Contact HoursProvider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider #8495 for 23 Contact Hours.

Perfusion CEUsThe American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (ABCP) has approved a total of 27.6 Category 1 CEUs for perfusionists for Wednesday, October 24 (4.8), Thursday, October 25 (11.4), and Friday, October 26 (11.4).

Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist CEUsCCI does not approve CEUs directly, however CCI will accept CEUs that have already been approved by accredited sponsors of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME). RCIS attendees will claim the physician certificate option when completing the online evaluation and can use that certificate to claim CEUs from CCI.

Radiologic Technologist CE CreditsCategory A CE credit is pending approval by the ASRT. Updated information on the determination will be provided online at www.promedicacme.com as soon as it is received.

ABIM MOC AccreditationSuccessful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 23 Medical Knowledge MOC points

and Patient Safety MOC credit in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.

Radiation SafetyThis conference fulfills the Title 17 California Code requirement for 4 CE credits in radiation safety for the clinical uses of fluoroscopy.

Commercial SupportThis course is supported, in part, by educational grants from industry, in accordance with the ACCME Standards for Commercial Support. At the time of printing, a complete listing of commercial supporters was not available. Appropriate acknowledge-ment will be given to all supporters at the time of the educational activity.

Cultural and Linguistic CompetencyThis activity is in compliance with California Assembly Bill 1195 which requires that all CME activities comprising a patient care element include curriculum addressing the topic of cultural and linguistic competency. The intent of this bill is to ensure that health care professionals are able to meet the cultural and linguistic concerns of a diverse patient population through effective and appropriate professional development. Cultural and linguistic competency was incorporated into the planning of this activity.
