Steve Hodgson, CPP, CPLP, presents, develops, and reviews APA’s training courses. He earned ATD’s Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) designation in February 2017.
Previously, he coordinated speakers for APA conferences, seminars, and other meetings as the director of Speaker Administration. A payroll practitioner for 25 years, Steve was formerly the HRIS/Payroll Manager for BBA Fiberweb in Simpsonville, SC. He was named South Carolina Payroll Professional of the Year in 2002. Before joining APA’s staff, Steve was an active member of the association, serving on the APA President’s Board of Advisors, the Board of Contributing Writers, and the National Speakers Bureau. He received the APA’s Meritorious Service Award in 2004.

Mary Brumm Holland, CPP, has more than 20 years of experience in finance and payroll including international assignments and
global payroll management. Prior to joining the APA staff, Mary chaired the Nominating and Elections and APA Education Grant committees and served as a member of the Board of Advisors, National Speakers Bureau, and co-chair of the Strategic Payroll Leadership Task Force – Global Issues. She has served in many positions including president with the Silicon Valley Chapter of the APA. In 2009, Mary received the Donald W. Sharper Education Grant; in 2011, she received APA’s Meritorious Service Award; in 2014 the APA Special Recognition Award, and in 2016, she was awarded the Payroll Woman of the Year. Mary has been a Certified Payroll Professional since 2003.

As a national APA member, he served on the Certification Item Development Task Force, Certification Board, Special Payroll Leadership Task Force, Electronic Payment Committee, and Government Relations Task Force. He also served at the local level for the Rainier Chapter APA in Seattle, WA as a co-chair for the Washington Statewide Conference and spoke on various topics for nearly two decades in Oregon and Washington. Andy obtained his CPP designation in 1998.

She was awarded the APA Meritorious Service Award (2009) and the APA Payroll Woman of the Year (2013). Robyn earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Illinois State University.

Larry White, CPP, has been serving in the payroll industry for over 35 years and is a Director of Payroll Training for the American Payroll Association. His responsibilities include the
presentation, development, and review of APA training courses. He was named Oklahoma Payroll Professional of the Year in 2001 and was APA’s Payroll Man of the Year in 2005 when he was inducted into the Payroll Hall of Fame. Larry has taught payroll administration at Tulsa Community College and he holds a degree in Communications from the University of Tulsa.

Prior to joining APA, Hope was manager of payroll operations training at IOI Payroll Services, a Systems Analyst for CIBA Vision Corporation, and served many roles for the APA’s Atlanta Chapter including president and chair of the chapter’s education committee. She attained the Fundamental Payroll Certification in the first offering in October 2000, and currently holds the designation of Certified Payroll Professional.
