WHY TRAVEL WITH BREKKE TOURS?Let our clients tell you why...

You cannot find better than Brekke Tours; superb travel and education are their accomplishments. Guides are memorable.” I.C. ~ Northfield, MN

Brekke did an excellent job in planning their ‘family’ adventure. We had our children and grandchildren with us – ages 17, 14, and 4 – and there was something enjoyable for all. This is absolutely the best ‘family’ experience we’ve had!D.H. ~ Hiawatha, KS

From start to finish, it was a fantastic tour. We can’t wait to go with Brekke again.C.A. ~ Leland, IL

My first tour with Brekke Tours and my first ‘across the pond’ tour. If I tour with another tour company, they will have a hard act to follow!! Thank you Brekke Tours (and Joy Flynn) for making this a trip of a lifetime for me and my extended family.2016 Tour Participant

Our trip was so memorable. There were things of interest for all ages of people. Two enthusiastic thumbs up.E.A. ~ East Grand Forks, MN

Brekke was so helpful and friendly right from the first phone call – no regrets ever. It was a trip of a lifetime for me.K.K. ~ Pardeeville, WI

Brekke Tours provided us with an unforgettable view of Norway – everything, and we mean everything, went so very smoothly and the trip was a pure joy from beginning to end! F. and D.S. ~ Hatton, ND

Bridging cultures, one trip and one book at a time...

Brekke Tours & Travel celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2016, and throughout the year we were reminded of the goal when Arne Brekke organized his first tour to Europe back in 1956...share the love of travel while connecting people with the land of their ancestors.

We were honored to assist a number of people as they traveled back to their "roots" in Scandinavia during 2016 and look forward to doing the same in 2017. As we move forward into the new year, we are also celebrating the new additions to the Arne G. Brekke Bygdebok Collection, which has now surpassed 1650 volumes! These local history books include detailed information about individual farms in various regions of Norway as well as the people who lived there. The collection has proven to be an invaluable source for those researching their family's history. The collection at UND is one of the world's largest collections of bygdebøker and is actively growing as new volumes are acquired.

For more information about the Arne G. Brekke Bygdebok Collection, please ask for a brochure or visit: library.und.edu/special-collections/bygdebok/. If you would like help with researching your family’s history, please contact our office.

As we continue our mission of connecting people to their roots in Scandinavia, we are proud to offer two new exciting tour itineraries in 2017:• Fjords&FarmsofNorway: Travel through Norway's dramatic fjord country

and learn how Norway's unique landscape shaped past and present life on the farm with visits to a fruit farm, fish farm and mountain farm.

• Scandinavia in September: Perfect for those looking to experience the changing of the seasons in Sweden and Norway, this tour offers you a chance to visit Stockholm, Oslo, Norway's fjord country and Bergen all in 10 days!

We are also excited to announce some changes to Norway'sFamilyAdventure. Travel with a Norwegian guide and her family (including three children) as she introduces you to her homeland. Family-friendly activities include a visit to the Bear Park in Flå, a day at the Langedrag Nature Park near Gol and a family rafting adventure in Voss. This tour is sure to be fun for the whole family!

We wish to extend our thanks for another wonderful year, and we look forward to seeing you in Scandinavia in 2017!

A visa is not required for Scandinavia or Western Europe for stays of less than 3 months. A visa is required for passengers traveling to Russia. Cancellation fees may also apply to any additional services, including accommodations, independently supplied services, cruises and optional excursions reserved prior to, during and after the tour. Generally pre-existing conditions can be covered if premium payment is made within 15 days of your initial trip deposit. Request brochure or visit www.brekketours.com for further information. If documents are issued and we can accept the change there will be an additional reissue fee minimum of $350 per person plus any fees assessed by air/land supplier/s.

aiR tRansPoRtationPrice is based on scheduled transportation in economy class and nonrefundable airfare on one of our preferred airline partners (if requesting a specific carrier, an additional charge may apply) from the city specified in the itinerary. The tour package price reflects airfare currently in effect & is subject to change until ticketed. Inquire about airfare options from your home city. Passengers coming from different cities, booked or deposited at different times, may be booked on alternate routings/different flights. Passengers are responsible for charges due to delays on domestic flights (purchased as separate tickets) in connection with an international flight. NOTE:• If using frequent flyer miles, participants must book directly with

the carrier.• It is recommended that you do not purchase airline tickets until the

land portion of your tour is guaranteed to operate. • Purchase of a domestic ticket to connect with international flight or

purchase of a land only package: • If booking a domestic flight to connect with the trans-Atlantic

flight, an overnight (at least for eastbound travel) or an early flight (with at least one backup flight available) is recommended.

• Carriers will not necessarily allow passengers to check bags

through to the final destination with multiple tickets. Thus passengers will only be able to check the bag to the destination on the first ticket(s). The passenger must collect the baggage at baggage claim for their first ticketed destination, and then re-check their baggage with the down-line carrier for the next flight. Various baggage restrictions may also apply subject to carrier guidelines.

Brekke Tours is not responsible for: • any costs/fees relating to airline delays, rescheduling or cancellation.

If you miss your departure flight, it is your responsibility to work with the airline on which you are ticketed to reach your destination.

• any additional expenses incurred prior to joining the tour package. • and will not provide any refund for services or portions of trips

missed due to cancelled, rescheduled or delayed flights.Fuel suRchaRges anD taxesYour initial billing will include the current estimated charge based on your flight itinerary. Final charges for fuel and taxes will be assessed in your statement prior to final payment.lanD costsThe tour price is based on a minimum of 30 participants. The trip will be feasible with fewer than the minimum, but if the minimum number of participants is not reached, the price may increase or services may be modified to accommodate a smaller group. All rates are based on tariffs in effect at the time the tour was planned and are subject to increase in the event of currency fluctuation.lanD tRansPoRtationFirst-class private motorcoach. Other transportation and/or accommodations as indicated.luggageSize and weight limitations for carry-on and checked baggage on international, inter-European flights and domestic flights vary from airline to airline and are subject to change, so please check with the applicable carrier prior to departure. On the land portion, due to limited motorcoach capacity, we allow only 1 suitcase and 1 carry-on per person. Luggage handling at hotels for 1 suitcase is provided. Airport porterage is not included as security regulations require that travelers handle and be responsible for their own luggage. No responsibility is accepted for loss of or damage to baggage or any of the traveler’s belongings. Baggage insurance is recommended.sPecial RequestsSpecial hotel and flight requests, such as “double bed,” “room near elevator,” “room on lower floor,” “meals,” “seating on aircraft,” etc., should be submitted in writing with final payment. Such requests, however, are outside of our control and therefore cannot be guaranteed. Please note: a quote does not constitute a reservation. All reservation requests outside of the group arrangements outlined in the itinerary, such as additional hotel nights, add-on airfares or date deviations must be explicitly requested by the tour participants and confirmed in writing by Brekke Tours. smokingSmoking is not permitted on airplanes or motorcoaches. Most hotels are non-smoking in Scandinavia.hotelsAccommodations in rooms with private facilities at hotels specified or similar. Brekke Tours reserves the right to substitute hotels. Single rooms are generally inferior to double rooms in size and location. Please note that hotel rooms may not be available for check-in before 2:00pm. Requests for special room assignments should be submitted in writing with final payment. If you request a twin bedded room, every effort will be made to honor this request; however, on some occasions, rooms with one double bed may be the only choice available. DAY 8 MEHAMN—TROMSØ [B,L,D]The ship arrives at Honningsvåg in the early morning. After calling at Havøysund, she will stop in Hammerfest, the world’s most northerly town. You’ll dock in Tromsø just in time to savor its nightlife. Shore excursions are available.

DAY 9 HARSTAD—STAMSUND [B,L,D]The daylight sailing through the Lofoten Islands is a highlight for many Hurtigruten guests. This day also offers several exciting excursions that will make you feel like a natural-born explorer.

DAY 10 BODØ—RØRVIK [B,L,D]The Helgeland coast, with its hundreds of islets, fertile farmland, and steep granite walls, is rich in local lore. Legends include how an arrow fired by the Hestmannen troll formed the hole in Torghatten Mountain.

DAY 11 TRONDHEIM—MOLDE [B,L,D]Today gives you another opportunity to explore the city of Trondheim. Passing the islands of Munkholmen, Hitra, and thousands of islets and skerries, we stop in Kristiansund and then cross the open sea on our way to Molde. Shore excursions are available.

DAY 12 ÅLESUND—BERGEN [B,L]During the night, the ship will call at Ålesund, Torvik, and Måløy as the world’s most beautiful voyage draws to a close. Disembark your Norwegian Coastal Voyage in Bergen. Transfer to the airport for your return flight or extend your stay in Norway with a land tour..
