WELCOME! By signing on as a team for the 2017 St. Jude Walk/Run to End Childhood Cancer, you are helping find cures for the children at St. Jude by recruiting team members and fundraising. Your team’s goal will help ensure that families never receive a bill from St. Jude – because all a family should worry about is helping their child live. Because of you, there is St. Jude.

TEAM CAPTAIN CHECKLIST ¨ Register at www.stjude.org/walkrun as a team captain and set your fundraising goal.

¨ Set up your Team fundraising page by adding a photo and personal message, as well as your Personal Page, available in your Fundraiser Center.

¨ Donate. Get a head start on reaching your fundraising goal by making a personal donation. This can be done at the time of registration or after you register.

¨ Recruit team members. Display event posters around the office, campus, cafeterias, break rooms, gyms, and other high traffic areas. Include your name and contact information so co-workers, friend & family can easily sign up. You can also send out a recruitment email from your Fundraiser Center and post to Facebook or Twitter.

¨ Fundraise. Encourage your team members to set and reach their own fundraising goals by sending out fundraising tips and creating incentives for top performers.

¨ Attend the Kick Off Party on July 27th on the St. Jude Campus - an event specifically for team captains to kick off the event!

¨ Track your progress. Post a progress chart with your fundraising and recruitment goals in a visible area in your office, or send a regular email updating everyone.

¨ Use incentives and contests. Use internal incentives and St. Jude contests to encourage participation.

¨ Make a donation drop. Drop off any donations you have collected the Saturday & Tuesday before the event to ensure speedy check-in on Event Day. Details will be sent via email.

¨ Enjoy Event Day and celebrate your success. Gather the family, friends and co-workers and head out for a day filled of fun, laughter and inspiration!Celebrate the impact you are making on the kids at St. Jude by raising $100 or more. Details will be sent via email.



REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS: CREATE A TEAM

• Visit www.stjude.org/walkrun and click “Find a Walk/Run.”

• Type in MEMPHIS or click on browse to see options. Click on Register.

• Select your team option – START A TEAM.

• Create or access your St. Jude fundraising profile. o If you are a “Returning User,” enter your username and

password from last year. § Forgot your information? Click “Email me my login

information” and enter email address o If you’re not a returning user, select “New User.”

• If you are a returning user, you might be prompted to bring back a

team from a prior year. o If so, click “Bring Back [Team Name].”

• To start a team as the team captain:

o Enter your team name and team fundraising goal. o To affiliate your team with a National Team, select from the

National Team dropdown menu. o Select your team type.

• Select your participation option.

o Set a fundraising goal. o If interested, make a donation toward your fundraising goal.

• Fill out your Contact Information.

o Enter your personal information. o If you are a “New User,” create a username and password. o Answer additional questions.

• Review and agree to the Terms of Agreement.

• Verify and complete your registration.

o To register a family member, “Register a family member” and repeat the registration process.

• Congratulations, you’re now registered! Take a moment and

review your Fundraiser Center - your fundraising headquarters! Here you can personalize you website page, send emails and fundraise through Facebook.

MONTHLY COMMUNICATION CALENDAR: Objective: Announcement of Team Sample Email The St. Jude Walk/Run to End Childhood Cancer is less than two months away and now is the time to register for our team! Log onto your Fundraiser Center and click under the Resources Tab to see all the great tools you have to kick off your fundraising efforts including videos and social media tools. Visitwww.stjude.org/walkrunto sign up today – so far, we have XXX team members registered and have raised $XXX. Remember – your friends and family can join the team name team too! The more, the merrier as we strive to hit our fundraising goal of $______! All participants who raise $100 will earn the official St. Jude Walk/Run to End Childhood Cancer t-shirt, with more prizes available for raising $250, $500, $750, $1,000 and $2,500 to qualify for the Fearless Fundraiser Club. There’s still time for us to get on the leaderboard and help us reach our fundraising goal of $________ – we are getting so close. St. Jude has one more challenge during this final month for us.
