2017 Southeast Louisiana Council ~ Boy Scouts of America Pillars of Scouting Luncheon – Jimmy Fitzmorris, Ken Pickering, Frank Stewart Thursday, April 20 – Reception 11:00 - Luncheon Noon – Audubon Tea Room Honoree - Jimmy Fitzmorris known to many as “Fitz” or “The Governor” has been associated with the Southeast Louisiana Council, Boy Scouts of America for a good part of the 90-year history of the council as a former Council President and current Executive Board Vice-President. He has been a business and political icon in New Orleans and Louisiana for over 6 decades. Mr. Fitzmorris is President/CEO of Fitzmorris and Associates, Inc., a political and business consulting firm. Mr. Fitzmorris was the Democratic Lieutenant Governor of Louisiana from 1972 to 1980. He was the first full-time lieutenant governor in state history, and in his first term, prior to implementation of the Constitution of 1974, he was the last lieutenant governor whose duties included presiding over the Louisiana State Senate. During his tenure as Lieutenant Governor he promoted industrial development and Louisiana was among the most successful states recruiting business and industry. Honoree - Ken Pickering is a name partner at Pickering & Cotogno and a community leader in New Orleans. He has a BSM degree from Louisiana Tech University and a Juris Doctor from the Loyola School of Law. Ken is active in many local and business organizations including Baptist Community Ministries, New Orleans Rotary Club, Christian Health Ministries Foundation, Greater New Orleans Education Foundation and the YMCA (West Bank). He is a current Vice President and former President of the Southeast Louisiana Council Boy Scouts of America. Honoree - Frank B. Stewart, Jr. serves as Chairman of the Board of Stewart Capital. In 1953, Mr. Stewart graduated from Jesuit High School and subsequently earned his B.B.A. from Tulane University’s School of Business Administration (now the A. B. Freeman School of Business). He served two years on active duty as an officer in the United States Navy and six years on inactive reserve. Mr. Stewart presently serves on the board of many professional, educational, charitable, civic, and social organizations, including the Freeman Business School Council (Past Chairman), Salvation Army, Boy Scouts of America (Past President Southeast Louisiana Council), New Orleans Business Council, Better Business Bureau, Crimestoppers, and the World Trade Center (Past President). He previously served for many years on the boards of the National World War II Museum, the Tulane University Board of Administrators, Board of Governors for the Tulane Medical Center, and the Ochsner Medical Foundation Board. Co-Chair-Patricia Denechaud - Pat is Owner/CEO of Crescent City Consultants, a destination management and event planning company. Ms. Denechaud is Honorary Consul of Canada in Louisiana and also serves on numerous civic and community boards. Co-Chair Bill Metcalf - Bill loves Scouting....And especially loves Scouting here in his adopted home town...New Orleans. As the successful founder of New Orleans City Business, Bill has given back to the community in a variety of ways: Chairman of the New Orleans Chamber of Commerce, Junior Achievement and The Boy Scout Council....He understands that teaching our young folks good solid life values and an entrepreneurial business spirit is crucial for the long-term success of our community. An Eagle Scout himself was born in Chattanooga and educated at the University of Texas at Austin. Bill and his terrific wife Cindy split their time between New Orleans and Park City, Utah. Registration Form Organization Facts - The Southeast Louisiana Council, Boy Scouts of America will provide youth development and leadership programs to approximately 7,800 young people in 11 parishes through Cub Scouting, Boy Scouting, Venturing, Exploring and Learning for Life programs during 2017. Funds raised from this event will provide: Direct service to Cub Scout Packs, Boy Scout Troops, Venture Crews, Explorer Posts and Learning for Life Groups – Unit Organization, Youth Recruitment, Volunteer Training, Service to Volunteers, Staff Assistance

• Program Services – Camping, Activities, Training, Insurance • Support Services – Office Support, Equipment, Salmen Scout Reservation • Funds to help youth in need experience the wonderful opportunity Scouting provides
