Syngenta: Strong Pipeline of Innovation At Syngenta, we believe in delivering more food for a better world through outstanding crop technologies. We remain committed to realizing a better way to help growers do more with less.
How can we surpass the yield ceiling and do so in a more profitable way for you? There is no easy or single answer, but with better means to improve genetic gain, control pests and manage your crops, we can do so. With our industry-leading technology and our commitment to innovation and collaboration, we can help.
We offer an extensive and diverse seeds portfolio set forth on the following pages. Beyond this broad offering, we have the most comprehensive crop protection portfolio in the industry and we are changing the way you manage and market crops. Through innovations like the AgriEdge Excelsior® program and Enogen® corn enzyme technology, we are combining agronomic and technical expertise to effectively provide solutions and programs to meet your crops’ needs. Acuron® corn herbicide and Trivapro® fungicide are just two examples of our recent product introductions that are helping growers better manage tough weeds and disease pressure, respectively.
We believe these technologies will not only provide better returns for you, but they will also benefit the industry as a whole. Our R&D commitment allows us to deliver on our promise and we plan to deliver significant results on our Good Growth Plan to continue to address growers’ challenges—for today and tomorrow.
Our purpose is “Bringing plant potential to life.” By 2020, we plan to deliver significant, measurable results on our six commitments in The Good Growth Plan. Those promises address the global food security challenge and put our purpose into action. We believe that sustainability is an ongoing journey of continuous improvement that builds on current best management practices. Progress will be made through combining leading technology with effective land management and benchmarks of key environmental efficiencies.
As critical as it is to bring you great products, what really matters is helping you succeed. We believe in giving you choices, not limitations. Tools, not barriers. Collaboration, not manipulation. We’re focused on delivering for today and the future, just like you.
The Good Growth Plan reflects Syngenta’s belief that agricultural productivity must increase in order to feed a global population which is currently increasing by 200,000 every day. At the same time, farmland is being depleted through urbanization and soil erosion while water resources are under increasing pressure.
Visit GoodGrowthPlan.com to learn how we are committed to more food, less waste; more biodiversity, less degradation; more health, less poverty.

Grow more corn From food and feed to fiber and fuel, nothing connects us like corn. Within the Syngenta corn portfolio are unique technologies and solutions to help you grow more NK® Corn. Our Y.E.S. Yield Engineering System™ is enabling us to provide a portfolio of superior hybrids for any field. Additionally, through continued research, we have identified more water-optimizing corn genes that complement the foundational genes in our Agrisure Artesian® hybrids and promote even more consistent performance in all weather conditions.
Beyond our outstanding genetics and traits are best-in-class seed treatment and crop protection products to defend against pests and maximize yield and quality. For more information about the Syngenta corn portfolio, visit SyngentaUS.com/Corn
START STRONG Choosing the best management practices and products is essential to helping every crop start strong. For corn growers seeking the latest technology, NK Corn hybrids deliver the most advanced seed technology and diversified genetics to maximize whole farm return. To add another level of protection, NK Corn hybrids are treated with Avicta® Complete Corn with Vibrance®, a premium combination of separately registered Syngenta seed treatments to defend against early-season nematodes, insects and diseases that eat away at yield. For more information about NK Corn hybrids, visit NKCorn.com
GROW STRONG Protecting corn plants from harsh environments, weeds, diseases and insects enables the crop to grow strong. Acuron and Acuron Flexi corn herbicides deliver better and more consistent weed control than industry standards. Growers will find harder-working and longer-lasting disease control and crop enhancement benefits with an application of our latest fungicide technology, Trivapro at V4–V8 and/or R1. With demonstrated activity that is ten times more potent than any other SDHI on the market, Trivapro will help growers maximize yield and profit potential. For early single-pass disease and weed control, Trivapro can be tank mixed with Halex® GT herbicide, the No. 1 corn post-emergence premix combining three modes of action to deliver Glyphosate with Residual™.
YIELD STRONG The Syngenta lineup of fungicides and insecticides provides long-lasting residual control of late-season diseases and insects to help maximize yield. Syngenta seed and crop protection products, such as the Agrisure Viptera® trait and Afla-Guard®, a naturally occurring biocontrol agent, can help reduce aflatoxin occurrence associated with insect feeding to help reduce the risk of dockage or rejected loads at the grain elevator.

Note: Disease and Insect Ratings
Ratings are not absolute; environmental conditions and certain cultural practices, such as continuous corn, play a critical role in disease development and insect infestation, which can, in turn, predispose plants to secondary disease such as stalk and ear rots. If conditions are severe, even hybrids rated as resistant can be adversely affected. Growers should balance yield potential, hybrid maturity and cultural practices against the anticipated risk of disease or insect pressure.
Ratings are based on interpretation of statistically analyzed results of studies conducted by Syngenta.
Seed products with the LibertyLink® (LL) trait are resistant to the herbicide glufosinate ammonium, an alternative to glyphosate in corn, and combine high-yielding genetics with the powerful, non-selective, postemergent weed control of Liberty® herbicide.

Agrisure nomenclature
The brand suffix changes as new technologies are introduced.
The technology series is indicated by the first number. The 3-technology series represents herbicide tolerance and the 5-technology series represents Agrisure Duracade.
The last three numerical identifiers represent the number of modes of action in each hybrid for broad lepidopteran, corn borer and corn rootworm control respectively.
The letter A indicates that the hybrid is a water-optimized Agrisure Artesian hybrid.
The E-Z Refuge descriptor follows the trait stack numerical identifiers for hybrids that are available as integrated, single-bag refuge products which contain 95 percent seed of a corn hybrid containing the trait stack and 5 percent seed of a hybrid without insect control traits.
Note: The Agrisure 3000GT trait stack with Artesian is labeled as Agrisure Artesian 3011A.

NOTE: Hybrid characteristics such as staygreen and drought stress tolerance are also important to consider when selecting hybrids for silage. Digestibility ratings are based on NIR and in-vitro digestibility analysis. Milk performance estimates generated from University of Wisconsin equations. Comparisons should only be made among hybrids within a maturity group. Although actual silage yield and quality analysis of a hybrid will vary with environment, the relative ranking of a hybrid will be similar. These ratings are a relative performance guide. Conduct a laboratory test to determine actual silage quality when balancing a feed ration.
Using This Chart
Yield: Calculated on a per-acre basis and adjusted to standard moisture.
Crude Protein (CP): Indicates the percent content of feed component relative to other hybrids.
Neutral Detergent Fiber Digestibility 48 Hour (NDFD 48 hr): Estimates the ruminant digestibility of the NDF fraction.
Starch: Indicates the percent content of feed component.
Total Digestible Nutrients (TDN): Sum of the digestibility of different nutrients.
Net Energy Lactation (NEL): Net energy for lactating cows based on acid detergent fiber (ADF).
Milk and Beef: Production per ton and acre feed quality on a per-ton basis, and combination of yield and quality on a per-acre basis.
Drought: Agrisure Artesian water optimized hybrid.

Agronomy ratings are based on statistically analyzed results of studies conducted by Syngenta. Agronomy ratings are relative based on other hybrids within the same maturity group.
General Interpretation of Hybrid Response to Management/Placement Situations and End Use Traits
Seeding Rate: The seeding rate columns indicate how well a hybrid responds to lower or higher planting populations. Your local NK retailer has a calculator tool to help determine the optimal seeding population for various environments in your local geography.
Continuous Corn: Favorable ratings in this column indicate hybrids containing multiple agronomic phenotypic traits deemed important for fields where corn is being cultivated for consecutive years. Ratings are weighted based on the following individual hybrid characteristics: emergence strength, early vigor, root and stalk strength, staygreen and yield.
Adaptation to Soil Types/ Yield Environments: Ratings and soil type classifications are based on interpretation of studies conducted by Syngenta.
Drought: Agrisure Artesian water optimized hybrid.

Resistance Rating SystemIndicates when a variety is resistant to a specific disease or pest. For Soybean Cyst Nematode (SCN) resistance, the specific nematode races the variety is resistant against are specified. For Phytophthora, the gene conveying the resistance is listed.
Soybean Cyst Nematode (SCN)1, 3, and/or 14 = Specific race of soybean cyst nematode, R = Resistant, MR = Moderately Resistant, S = Susceptible
Phytophthora Gene ResistanceThe following genes confer resistance to the listed races of Phytophthora:Rps1a = Resistant to races 1, 2, 10, 11, 13–18, 24, 26, 27, 31, 32, 36, 38Rps1c = Resistant to races 1–3, 6–11, 13, 15, 17, 21, 23, 24, 26, 28–30,
32, 34, 36, 38, 44Rps1k = Resistant to races 1–11, 13–15, 17, 18, 21–24, 26, 36–38, 44Rps3a = Resistant to races 1–5, 8, 9, 11, 13, 14, 16, 18, 23, 25, 28, 29,
31–35, 39, 44, 45Rps6 = Resistant to races 1–4, 8, 9, 10, 12, 14–16, 18–21, 25, 28,
33–35, 38, 39, 44, 45
Phytophthora Field ToleranceUsually not as complete as race-specific resistance, but it offers general protection. Resistance is not expressed in early stages of plant development. Numerical rating scale of 1–9; 1 = Best.

Notes
“ I’ve been using NK Soybeans for 38 years. The reason I’ve stayed with NK and been faithful to Syngenta is because of the strong research, not only with crop protection but with seed traits and seed treatments. Syngenta has a good portfolio of products all the way through.”

STEWARDSHIP
25
Protect and PreserveA strong stewardship program is essential for protecting and preserving the long-term value of insect-protected trait technology. Syngenta provides responsible programs and information regarding the appropriate crop production, handling and marketing practices.
STEWARDSHIP REQUIREMENTSRead and understand the stewardship requirements found in the Insect Resistance Management (IRM) Stewardship Guide, including applicable refuge requirements when planting insect protected traits as set forth in the Syngenta stewardship/technology agreement that you sign. To sign an agreement or view recommended planting configurations, please visit SyngentaStewardship.com or contact the Syngenta stewardship team: 1-877-476-2676.
By opening and using a bag of seed, you are reaffirming your obligation to comply with those stewardship requirements.
BEST MANAGEMENT PRACTICESThe agricultural industry has learned that, in addition to planting a refuge, a sound Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategy is needed to prevent Corn Rootworm (CRW) resistance. For more information on how you can implement Best Management Practices (BMPs) on your farm, including crop and trait rotation, refer to the industry CRW BMPs located at the NCGA website NCGA.com/CornRootWorm
CORN REFUGE REQUIREMENTSIt is important to recognize that different hybrid/trait packages may have different Insect Resistance Management (IRM) requirements. On-farm mixing of any seed is not an approved method to comply with stewardship requirements.

GRAIN MARKETINGGrowers are encouraged to consult the Bio Trade Status website for the approval status of commercially available hybrids: BioTradeStatus.com. Talk to your grain handler prior to delivering crop so that it can be handled and marketed appropriately. Please contact your local seed representative with any questions.
*Agrisure trait stacks may also be available as an Agrisure Artesian water optimized hybrid. The same modes of action and stewardship requirements are applicable.
Caution: Do not spray E-Z Refuge products with glufosinate ammonium based herbicides, including Liberty herbicides.
