When is ISO? International Student Orientation takes place on Thursday, August 24 th and Friday, August 25 th . Attendance on both days is required. How Do I Sign Up for ISO? Once you’ve submitted your deposit, log into your My Blue Hen Home portal and click on the “Register for International Student Orientation” link. Once the registration form opens, read the instructions, and most importantly, select the listed date. What Happens at ISO? ISO will take place in the Trabant University Center (located at 17 West Main St., Newark, DE, 19716) on both Thursday, August 24 th and Friday, August 25 th . On Thursday, the Welcome Session will start promptly at 8:30 a.m. so plan to arrive at the Trabant University Center between 7:45-8:15 a.m. to complete check in and enjoy a light breakfast (i.e., bagles, muffins, fruit, tea) before the program begins. On Friday, August 25 th you will need to complete the mandatory government check-in with the Office of International Students and Scholars (OISS) at 8:00 a.m. ISO will end by 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 24 th and by 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 25 th . At ISO, you will: Meet and connect with other new Blue Hens! Attend sessions about student life at UD facilitated by UD students and staff, providing answers to your questions about topics such as US culture, housing, student activities, and safety Learn about important immigration and documentation requirements for all international students Gain important academic information from your college Experience campus dining by eating in the Trabant Food Court Learn about UD’s values and mission, and most importantly, what it means to be a Blue Hen! To-Do Listττ Register yourself and any family members or guests for ISO

ττ Submit your Immunization, Health History, and Meningitis

Disease and Vaccination Forms to Student Health Services

ττ Set up your UD email account

ττ Remember to bring the following with you on your ISO

day: a sweater or jacket, an umbrella, a copy of your Math

Placement Exam results, and a government issued ID card

(e.g., passport or driver’s license)

If you or your guests should need special assistance during ISO due

to a disability, please contact the Office of Disability Support Services

at least 10 days in advance of ISO at (302) 831-4643 (voice) or (302)

831-4563 (TDD).

Is There a Fee?Each new student is billed a one-time $145 fee for ISO, regardless

of program attendance.

Travel and TransportationFor international students traveling to the US from another country,

the closest airports to Delaware are Philadelphia International Airport

and Baltimore International Airport. Both are approximately an hour

away from the UD campus in Newark, DE.

Students will be responsible for their own transportation from an

airport to the campus. There are several options, including Amtrak

trains and shuttle services.

Students who will be living in the residence halls for the Fall

2017 semester will have the option to stay on campus starting

on Wednesday, August 23rd. For more information, please visit

www.udel.edu/movein.

We strongly encourage you to make contact with your roommate

before arriving to campus! You can check your housing and

roommate assignments in your My Housing portal in June, found on

the Residence Life & Housing website - www.udel.edu/reslife.
