next, is exactly what Lexus did.

Even the design of the turbocharged engine wasn’t left to chance. Unlike some automakers, Lexus

didn’t outsource the development of its turbocharger. Painstakingly researched and engineered by Lexus until it met rigorous standards for performance, the

RC Turbo offers breathtaking proof that good things come to those who wait.

An intelligent alternative to onboard navigation, Scout® GPS Link5,14 uses a smartphone app to offer turn-by-turn directions via

the multimedia display. Separate from Lexus Enform5 services and subscription-free, Scout® GPS Link provides drivers with real-

time traffic info, personalized commute times, automatic traffic avoidance and more.

REMOTE TOUCHPAD

Equal parts functionality and form, the available Remote Touchpad9 is more than a way to access multimedia, climate controls and

available navigation. Featuring ample touch surface area, pulsation feedback and intuitive operation via pinch, swipe and flick gestures

just like your smartphone, the touchpad found in the RC offers innovation at your fingertips.

3-D NAVIGATION

Use the high-resolution multimedia display or your voice to access the available Navigation System.10 This system can map millions of points of interest across the country and can display information in English, French or Spanish. And, in addition to offering up-to-date traffic and weather information,11 3-D city views, and simulated views of approaching highway junctions, it displays the current speed limit and can automatically display nearby gas stations if you begin to run low on fuel.VOICE RECOGNITION

As responsive inside as it is on the road, the RC features advanced voice command, which enables you to place compatible

Bluetooth®12-enabled phone calls and operate climate, audio and navigation functions using normal, everyday speech. If you say

“It’s too hot in here,” for example, the climate control will automatically lower the temperature by four degrees. With Enhanced Bluetooth

technology,12 compatible Bluetooth12 mobile-phone address-book contacts can be viewed and accessed on the Navigation System10

ADVANCED BLIND SPOT MONITOR

The available advanced Blind Spot Monitor17 in the RC not only alerts you when it detects vehicles approaching from behind, but also is capable of doing so for vehicles approaching at greater distances. Rear Cross-Traffic Alert18 can help provide peace of mind when you are backing out of a parking space by notifying you of vehicles approaching from either side.

PRE-COLLISION SYSTEM

The available Pre-Collision System (PCS)15 is engineered to detect vehicles in the path of your

Lexus. Should it determine a frontal collision is imminent, it’s designed to automatically prepare

Brake Assist16 for increased braking response, and is even able to automatically begin braking

before impact.

BACKUP CAMERA WITH GRIDLINES

When you place the RC into reverse, the view from the backup camera19 is displayed on the multimedia

display in full color with dynamic gridlines to assist you with parking and other maneuvers. DYNAMIC RADAR CRUISE CONTROL

Available Dynamic Radar Cruise Control20 can help maintain a preset distance from the car traveling in front of you by automatically reducing the throttle and even applying the brakes (at speeds above 25 mph). Once the road clears, the RC returns to its preset speed.

ALL-WEATHER DRIVE

Fun doesn’t take the day off for foul weather. With the brilliantly engineered all-wheel drive

system on the RC 300 and RC 350 AWD, you can experience control in a wide variety of driving conditions. By monitoring current

conditions, the system automatically distributes engine power between the front and rear

axles to help provide optimum traction and control—even in inclement weather.

F SPORT

Boasting interior and exterior styling that refuses to go unnoticed, the RC F SPORT also

pushes performance to the next level. With exclusive, race-inspired upgrades like a turbo-

boost display (RC Turbo) and digital gauges that feature a sliding metallic-trimmed bezel

to reveal information. Exhilaration is further enhanced courtesy of an Adaptive Variable

Suspension with Sport S+ mode and larger two-piece front brake rotors (RWD) with

high-friction pads21 for greater response and reduced brake fade.

Depending on speed and steering angle, the Dynamic Rear Steering system can adjust the angle of the

When you insert your key into the ignition switch or bring a SmartAccess fob into the vehicle, the key transmits an electronic code to the vehicle. The engine will only start if the code in the transponder chip inside the key/fob matches the code in the vehicle’s immobilizer. Because the transponder chip is embedded in the key/fob, it can be costly to replace. If you lose a key or fob, your Lexus dealer can help. Alternatively, you can find a qualified independent locksmith to perform high-security key services by consulting your local Yellow Pages or by contacting www.aloa.org. 25. All the airbag systems are Supplemental Restraint Systems. All airbags (if installed) are designed to inflate only under certain conditions and in certain types of severe collisions: Typically, frontal and knee airbags inflate in frontal collisions; side torso and side curtain airbags inflate in side collisions; and Roll-Sensing Curtain Airbags inflate at a severe roll angle or roll rate. To decrease the risk of injury from an inflating airbag, always wear seatbelts, sit upright in the middle of the seat as far back as possible and do not lean against the door. Do not put objects in front of an airbag or around the seatback. Do not use a rearward-facing child seat in any front passenger seat.
