"2017 IOWA EGG COUNCIL RECIPE CONTEST WINNERS ANNOUNCED"

Urbandale, Iowa (May 01, 2017) - The Iowa Egg Council held its' "Incredibly Good Eggs" Recipe Contest April 10, 2017 from 12pm - 2pm at Iowa State University. The top 5 recipes in each division, adult and student, were judged by a panel of judges. The judges included: Edward Steadham, Iowa State University Professor, Department of Animal Science, Sherry Hoyer, Iowa State University Communication Specialist, and Nancy Macklin, Registered Dietitian. The panel of judges scored the finalists on taste, appearance, originality and use of eggs in their dish. All of the recipes were delicious, but the judges could only pick the top 3 in each division. The 1st place winners received $350, 2nd place $250 and 3rd place $150. The results are as follows: Adult Division:

1.   Cheryl Rogers, Ankeny - Monte Cristo Sandwich 2.   Karla Downs, Delhi - Buttery Pecan Cake 3.   Brooksie Miller, Maxwell - Sweet Potato Pie

Student Division:

1.   Matthew Adams, DeWitt - Baked Egg Boats 2.   Karleen Sheehan, DeWitt - Spicy Breakfast Ring 3.   Aaron Vande Voort, DeWitt - Heavenly Hash Cake
