A LITTLE BIT ABOUT OUR MAIN STAGE PERFOMERS…
Internationally renowned dub aficionados KINGFISHA stand
shoulder-to-shoulder with the world’s best proponents of the
genre. Sultry, expert, and undeniably infectious, the KINGFISHA
sound highlights deep all-encompassing rhythms with a feather-
light touch and understated soul vocal that has built them an
impeccable reputation as Australia’s bass-heavy roof-raisers.
What a way to open the Djerriwarrh Festival main stage ….
Woodlock are a Melbourne-based acoustic/folk band who
gained popularity by busking the streets of rural and capital
cities. With a sound that has been described as Stadium Folk, it
is defined by its vocal harmonies, story-telling lyrics and catchy
rhythms. They are infectious, lively performers, never hiding their
love of music. Pull up a patch a grass and get ready to be swept
away by Woodlock…
The unconventional songwriters are two guitars, vocals and a
beast behind the kit. They fit somewhere in between blues riffed
The Black Keys, and the incredible full-throated wail of Janis
Joplin. Having no bass, the drums are integral to the sonic
massive-ness that fits in-between the mechanical style riffs, their
songs are catchy, huge and you can feel the truth in their tales.
Get ready for Dallas Frasca!
