2017 Certificate in Small Business Cybersecurity StrategyLearn how to establish basic security practices from a technical perspective, such as keeping a clean machine and operating system,

protection from viruses, malware, and other online threats, and securing your wifi network by attending this security awareness training.

Presented By

The Illinois Small Business Development Center, in partnership with the Turner Center for Entrepreneurship, at Bradley University is presenting a series of cybersecurity seminars and webinars to teach small businesses how to protect your business and customers against cybercrimnals,

security breaches, and inside threats.

Introduction No business, small or large, can afford to ignore cybersecurity. According to a recent Verizon Data Breach Investigations Report, 60 percent of cyber-attacks target small to medium-sized businesses. The most prevalent risk to a small business is ransomware; with the FBI estimating over 4,000 U.S. businesses being infected by ransomware every day. With cybersecurity threats on the rise, increasing cyber-crimes not only affect individuals but small to medium-sized businesses. Spear-phishing has improved over the past few years and is now extremely difficult to detect. You do not have to do everything, just something. Work with banks or credit card processors and employ best practices to ensure that the most trusted antifraud services are being used. You will walk away with the tools needed to detect and protect both yourself and your customers’ personal information in order to keep from becoming a victim.

Location & Times This cybersecurity series consists of seven seminar and two webinars. The seven seminars will be offered as a lunch and learn format at the Peoria NEXT Innovation Center. Registration and lunch is at 11:30 with the presentation(s) beginning at Noon and concluding by 2pm. Both webinars will be offered from 12pm-1-pm.
