Augusoft Lumens Customer of the Year Award The Augusoft Lumens Customer of the Year Award is determined by the Augusoft team to acknowledge someone who continually supports Augusoft, is dedicated to the enhancement of Lumens and is committed to delivering and improving lifelong learning for everyone. Cem Erdem, Augusoft President & CEO, was pleased to present this year’s award to Kristi Flack, Director of Operations, Business & Community Solutions of Northeast Iowa Community College, for her outstanding leadership and support of Augusoft. Kristi has always been very patient when working with Augusoft to facilitate improvements to the system – providing good, clear business explanations to justify changes. She was involved when NICC served as a v8 pilot which required commitment and patience to make it successful. Congratulations, Kristi, on a well-deserved award!

The well-attended 14th Annual Augusoft Lumens User Summit held prior to the Annual LERN Conference in Portland, Oregon was a huge success! Experienced and new Lumens users, executive school leaders, industry partners and the Augusoft team came together to learn, discuss, network and share their knowledge of Lumens. Roundtable DiscussionsBased on user summit attendee popularity vote, three roundtable topic discussions were held each day.

Below lists the topic discussions attendees could choose from.

Programming Decisions, Class Building, Trends in Your AreaHow do you make decisions on which classes to run each term? How are you gathering the data along the way? How do you approach data entry when it’s time to populate Lumens with the classes for the upcoming term? What do you do to verify data accuracy? Any pitfalls others can avoid? What are the program trends in your area of the country in terms of programming? Are there fast growing trends that you’re focusing on? What topics are on a decline? Is there anything Lumens needs to be ready for in the future? FinancialsUsing Lumens to manage financial/business functions – user roles & their access to info vs other roles, favorite reports, how others are handling common challenges.

Learner ProfilesAre you dealing with many duplicate profiles? How do you make the transition to ‘email as username’? What are some of the drawbacks? Is it worth going through the cleanup? How do household profiles factor in?

OperationsKey practices that make your program a success; best practices in operations, operational positions/duties. Summer Youth ProgramsWhat’s ‘hot’? How do you run the programs? How do these run different than regular OE classes? Any and everything about summer youth programs.

Multiple ProgramsChallenges and benefits of using Lumens for multiple programs (ie: Continuing Ed, OLLI, Human Resource, etc.) or multiple campuses.
