PROCEDURESOFATHLETEHEIGHTMEASUREMENTGENERALCONDITIONS

1. Theprocessofheightmeasurementswilltakeplacebeforecompetition.Itmaytakeplaceonatrainingday,priortowarm-ups,etc.TheMeetDirectorisresponsibletoscheduletimeandpublishthisinformationtoallparticipatingclubs.

2. TheMeetReferee(ordesignatedrepresentative)supervisesthemeasurementprocess.Onecoachfromtheathlete’sclubshouldbepresentduringmeasuring.TheMeetRefereerecordsallmeasurementsandreportsanyheightpenaltiestothecoachandtheCJP.

3. Athletesinapartnershiparerequiredtopresentformeasurementatthesametime.Itisthecoach’sresponsibilitytoensurepresentationoftheirathletesformeasurement.

a. Athleteswhohavenotpresentedformeasurementwillautomaticallyreceivethemaximumheightpenalty(fortherespectivelevel).

b. Forexceptionalcircumstances,theMeetRefereeandMeetDirectormayscheduleanothertimeformeasurementifapair/groupisunabletopresentforheightmeasurementattheassignedtime.Itisthecoach’sresponsibilitytonotifytheMeetRefereeandMeetDirectorpriortocompetition.

4. Thecoachhastherighttorequestare-measurement.Thismustbedoneimmediatelyafterthefirstmeasurementoccurs.Acoachmaynotfileanappealorrequestare-measureofathletesfromanotherclub.

5. TheMeetRefereehastherighttorequestare-measurementifthereisquestionaboutsizeorthereisdoubtabouttheaccuracyofthedataprovided.Inthiscase,therequestmustbeplacedbytheconclusionofthefirstexercise.Otherwise,theoriginalmeasurementstandsfortheentirecompetitionandcan’tbequestionedanymore.

6. TheJuryofAppealsshouldbepresentforallre-measurements,ifpossible.Re-measurementistakenasthebestoftheoriginaland2additionalmeasurements.Nomorethanthese3measurementswillbeallowed.

7. Ifanathleteobstructsthemeasurementbeingtaken,afteronewarningthemeasurementprocesswillstopandtheMeetRefereewillapplythemaximumheightpenalty.

MEASURINGPROCESS1. Whenthepartnershipisclearlywithinthesizetoleration,nofurthermeasurementneedstobedone.

Itisrecordedthattheathletespresentedformeasurement.

2. Athleteswillbemeasuredtothenearestmillimeter.

3. Allathletesinapartnership,bases,middles,andtopsaremeasured.

4. Athletesmustbeinbarefeet,wearingaT-shirtandshorts,leotard,orcompetitionattire.Hairshouldbesuchthatmeasuringdevicecanrestflatagainsttheheadandnototherwisehinderthemeasuringprocess.

5. Athletesmustlieontheback,straight,onalineonthefloor,innormalposturewithfeettogetherandkneespressedback(straight).Theshouldersarerelaxed.

6. Thehorizontallengthfromthefeet(heels)tothetopoftheheadismeasuredusinganelectroniclasermeasuringdeviceforlength.

7. TheMeetRefereecomparestheheightsofpartnerstodetermineifthereisapenaltyforheight,pertheJOandFIGCodeofPoints.

a. Thedifferencebetweenpartnersallowedis30cm(withatoleranceupto30.9)b. 31cmupto34.9differencehavethefollowingdeductions:

i. SeniorElite&JE13-19=0.5ii. JuniorElite12-18=0.3iii. AG11-16=0.1iv. Levels5-10=0.2

c. 35cmandmoredifferencebetweenpartnershavethefollowingdeductions:i. SeniorElite&JE13-19=1.0ii. JuniorElite12-18=0.5iii. AG11-16=0.3iv. Levels5-10=0.2

8. Inapplicationtogroups,relativetothetallestpartner,thedifferencetothenexttallestpartnerwillbemeasuredaccordingtotherulesabove.Thesameappliestothenextone.

MEASURINGTOOLSThefollowingtoolsarerequiredforproperheightmeasurements.

1. Anelectroniclasermeasuringdeviceforlength,whichcanaccommodatecentimetersandmillimeters

2. Endsideofthisdevicemustbefixedagainsttheverticalplateofatripod(seeexamplesbelow).

3. A12”rulerisoptionalequipmentthatcanhelptoquicklydetermineifathletesinapartnershipareclearlywithintoleranceforheightanddonotneedfurthermeasurementwiththelaserdevice.
