We have accomplished excellent results through our

research in extensive areas, including optimal motion

planning, advanced motion novel control and

actuators, as well as the practical application of these

technologies to humanoid robots, medical and

rehabilitation robots, prosthetic limbs, electrical

wheelchairs and other life support robots.

ロボット工学分野では、教員たちが最適化運動計画、モーションコントロール、アクチュエータなどの要素技術から、ヒューマノイドロボット、医療福祉ロボット、義手や車いすなど生活支援ロボットの実応用に至る広範な領域で卓越した成果を挙げています。

日本語教育Japanese Language Education

We explore effective educational methods for

learners of Japanese language, as well as the process

and mechanisms of second language acquisition.

Through our on-site research at schools, we also shed

light on the issues faced by many foreign children in

Yokohama and other parts of Japan, and explore

ways to support and educate them.

日本語学習者に対する日本語教育の有効な方法、第二言語習得や認知言語学の理論を援用した第二言語習得のプロセスとメカニズムを探究しています。また、横浜市にも多い外国人児童の問題を、学校現場に入ることで明らかにし、支援・教育方法を探っています。

社会政策Social Policy

Japan and the rest of East Asia face common social

risks associated with “double care”: the simultaneous

demand to provide complex nursing care for both

children and elderly. We aim at developing viable

supporting measures as Japanese baby boomers will

pass the age of 75 in 2025 and the number of the

elderly will reach its peak between 2040 and 2050.

日本や東アジアにおいて、ダブルケア（育児と介護の同時進行、ケアの複合化）は共通の社会的リスクです。団塊の世代が75歳以上になる2025年や高齢人口がピークに達する2040～2050年に向けた支援策を開発するための研究を行っています。

Our research focuses on the observation, analysis,

and countermeasures against cyberattacks on various

information systems. In recent years, we have been

pointing out the vulnerability of various devices in the

internet of things (IoT), conducting studies on virus

infection by malicious programs, and taking

necessary measures.

methodology of “evolutionary machine learning”

which automatically construct ways to solve

problems. It is the artificial intelligence (AI) of the next

companies for the social application of AI.

The practical learning pursued at YNU's colleges and graduate schools is based on the deep-rooted history and tradition of Yokohama as a thriving city of trade, commerce, and industry. Fully exploiting the �exibility and adaptability of a mid-sized university with a single campus, YNU carries on the advanced and practical scholarship to cultivate globally-competitive talents.

2017年4月新設の学部。都市科学は、これからの都市はどうあるべきかというテーマに科学的に取り組む学問である。多くの人々が住み、働き、多様な活動が育まれ、様々な現象が起こる都市。人類や地球が直面している多くの問題を解く重要な鍵として、これからの都市のあり方を考え、文理にわたる幅広い視点から都市の未来へ挑戦する人々を育成する。

The college is newly established in April 2017.

Urban science explores the desirable future of cities

where many people live, work, and engage in other

diverse activities. Through scientific observation of

various phenomena taking place in the cities, the

college fosters leaders of urban policies who can

explore the future of cities from broad perspectives

both in the liberal arts and the sciences to offer key

solutions for the problems faced by humankind and

the planet.

イノベーションを創出する「未来の創造的人材」育成のため、横浜高等工業学校（1920年設置）より始まった実践的工学教育を深化・発展させ、学生が早期の教育課程で理学・工学両方の素養を身に付けた後に専門教育を受けるカリキュラムを提供している。工学的センスを持った理学系科学者、理学的センスを持った技術者・研究者を育成する。

Since its foundation as Yokohama Higher School of

Technology in 1920, the college has been

deepening and broadening its trademark practical

education to cultivate creative talent who will lead

future innovation. The curriculum is designed for

students to acquire the basics of both science and

engineering before taking specialized courses. The

college produces scientists with engineering

insights, as well as engineers and researchers with

scientific insights.

東日本の国立大学で唯一の経営学部。グローバルな活動・競争の中でビジネスを位置づけることができる「グローバルビジネス即応力」、ビジネスをめぐる課題を全体最適視点で定義し、ソリューションを提案できる「ビジネス統合分析力」、企業経営の観点から学際的な知を統合し、社会の変革を実行できる「イノベーション力」を持った人材を育成する。

This is the only college of business administration at

a national university in East Japan. It cultivates talent

who can: position their businesses within global

dynamics and competition (global competitiveness

and industry readiness); identify the challenges

facing their businesses with respect to total

optimization and propose solutions (integrated

analytical skills for business); and combine academic

knowledge from a management perspective to

bring about social change (innovative capacity).

横浜高等商業学校（1923年設置）以来の伝統である理論と実務のバランスのとれた教育と、国際貿易港横浜を背景とした国際色豊かな教育を行う。英語による専門科目を取り入れ、グローバル社会で通用する実践的コミュニケーション能力も育むことで、グローバル化の深化に対応でき、経済社会にイノベーションをもたらす人材を育成している。

Originally founded as Yokohama Higher School of

Commerce in 1923, the college has been providing

a well-balanced mix of theory and practice, as well

as a cosmopolitan education in the international

trading port of Yokohama. Some specialized

subjects are taught in English to cultivate the

practical and globally-competitive communication

skills of students, so they can adapt to the

increasingly globalized world and bring about

innovation in the economy and society at large.

小学校教員養成所の設置（1874年）以来、教育現場の未来を支えるべく、多角的な視野と洞察力とを兼ね備え、環境の変化に柔軟に対応できる次世代の教員を養成している。附属学校との連携を強化しており、学生は1年次から小・中学校に出かけて実践力を磨くことができる。なお、国費留学生以外の留学生向け入試は行っていない。

Since its founding in 1874, originally as a training

center for primary school teachers, the college has

been fostering teachers with broad perspectives

and deep insights who underpin the future of

education while flexibly adapting to an ever

changing environment. Students can gain practical

skills by teaching at the affiliated primary and junior

high schools of YNU from the first year of their study.

(The college does not take international students

except Japanese Government (Monbukagakusho)

Scholarship students.)

大都市が抱える経済の停滞、高齢化や少子化などの社会問題、地球温暖化に代表される環境問題、中小規模都市の人口・都市活動の流出や都市自体の縮退、さらには新興国や開発途上国での急激な経済成長や産業構造変化に伴う社会基盤や生活基盤の諸課題を分析・掌握し、解決に向けての方策を提案できる専門知識を習得する。

The graduate school enables students to acquire

expertise in analyzing, understanding and offering

solutions to various issues including economic

stagnation in major cities, social problems such as

ageing societies with declining birth rates, global

warming and other environmental issues, migration

of people and urban activities from smaller cities

and their decline, and strain in social and life

infrastructure in emerging economies and

developing countries.

地球環境問題、情報化や技術イノベーション等による社会環境の急激な変化、貧困と飢餓、エネルギー問題、大規模自然災害、重大事故等の根本的解決と、それによる持続的進化を可能にする創造的社会実現のため、解決が求められている環境問題の理工学領域と先端的な情報科学領域、さらに社会経済領域との融合的学際分野での実践的な教育研究を行う。

For the realization of creative society which enables

sustainable evolution, the graduate school conducts

practical education and research in the

interdisciplinary fields of engineering science,

advanced information science and socioeconomics

to offer fundamental solutions to such issues as

global environmental problems, rapid social and

environmental changes caused by informatization

and technical innovations, poverty, hunger, energy

issues, major natural disasters and major accidents.

In the rapid change of social environment, teachers,

researchers, and experts with more advanced and

The campus of YNU is located in Yokohama, a big city with

すべての学部・大学院が集まっているYNUの常盤台キャンパスは、日本で最初の18ホールのゴルフ場である「程ヶ谷カントリー倶楽部」の跡地に建てられました。横浜駅からわずか3kmしか離れていませんが、まるで公園のように緑が広がっています。勉強・研究に集中できるとともに、リラックスした学生生活が過ごせる理想的な環境です。

The Tokiwadai Campus is home to all undergraduate colleges and graduate

schools of YNU. It was constructed on a piece of land vacated by Hodogaya

Country Club, the first 18-hole golf course in Japan. The green campus just 3

km away from Yokohama Station creates a park-like atmosphere, and has an

excellent environment for studying and researching, as well as a relaxed

campus life.

Four Student Dormitories

4つの学生寮 YNUでは、4つの宿舎、合計部屋数600室以上を留学生に提供しています。寮費は月額10,500円～42,000円、入寮期間は1～2年です。一部の寮には、部屋数は限られますが、夫婦室や家族室もあります。

YNU provides 4 dormitories with a total of more than 600 rooms for international students. The rent costs between

10,500 and 42,000 yen per month. Some dormitories allow international students to extend their stay for the second

year and beyond, and have a limited number of rooms for married couples and families.

The center provides one-stop services for consultation and applications

YNU organizes career guidance, company research seminars, a job interview

course, company information sessions, and other events for international

students who wish to find employment in Japan. Our career support room

provides individual career consultation services aside from posting company

information sessions and job offers from companies.

Central Library

中央図書館

解放感のある快適な環境で、読書や学修をすることができます。約71万冊の蔵書と1200席の閲覧席がある他、ラーニング・コモンズ、ワーキングスタジオ、メディアホール、カフェ等が設置されており、多機能スペースとしても利用されています。この他、学内には社会科学系研究図書館と理工学系研究図書館があります。

Open and comfortable environments in the central

library guarantee effective reading and studies. With

roughly 710,000 books and 1,200 seats, the library is also

used as a multi-functional space equipped with a

common learning space, a working studio, a media hall, a

café and other facilities. There are two other libraries on

campus: the Social Science Library and the Science and

Technology Library.

Exchange Programs

交換留学制度

YNUでは毎年約50名が世界各国の協定校へ交換留学生として留学しています。留学生（国費留学生以外）も交換留学生になることができます。YNUでは、交換留学以外にも様々な短期の留学プログラムも用意しています。

Every year, YNU sends about 50 students to partner universities around the

world through exchange programs. International undergraduate and

graduate students (except for Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship

students) can also participate in such exchanges. Aside from student

exchange programs, YNU also organizes various short-term overseas study

programs.

Study Tours for International Students

留学生見学旅行

YNUは、留学生の日本理解を促進するため、年に数回、見学旅行を実施しています。参加者は、世界遺産をはじめとする日本の歴史的な名所や、ビール工場や自動車工場などの施設を巡ったり、座禅や藍染めなど様々な文化体験を行います。

YNU organizes a few study trours a year for international students to deepen

their understanding about Japan. Participants can visit a variety of famous

historic places including world heritage sites, and facilities such as a beer

factory and an automobile manufacturing plant. They can also gain rich

cultural experiences by trying such things as zen meditation and indigo

dyeing.

Cafeterias and Food Shops

YNUにはシェルシュ、第1食堂（れんが館）、第2食堂（理工学部食堂）の３つの学生食堂があり、栄養価の高い食事を手頃な価格で提供しています。この他、カフェや大学生協（CO-OP）、コンビニエンスストア、移動販売車でもランチや軽食を購入することができます。

There are 3 cafeterias on campus: Cherche, Cafeteria 1 (Renga Kan) and

Cafeteria 2 (College of Engineering Science Cafeteria), providing nutritious and affordable meals for students and staff members of YNU. Meals can also

be bought at a café, University Cooperative (CO-OP), a convenience store,

and food trucks.

Cultural and Religious Considerations

文化的・宗教的な配慮

大学生協（CO-OP）にはハラル認証食品コーナーがあり、マレーシアやインドネシアなどから輸入している缶詰やカップ麺、レトルトカレーなどのインスタント食品を取り扱っています。また、第2食堂ではハラルフードを提供しています。学内には祈祷場所も設置されているなど、宗教的な配慮もなされています。

YNU respects the religious beliefs of its students. CO-OP has a Halal foods

section offering pre-cooked meals such as canned soup, pot noodles and

retort pouch curry. Also, Cafeteria 2 serves Halal meals. If students want to

pray, there is a prayer room available on campus.

YNU Overseas Alumni Associations

YNU海外同窓会

2017年4月現在、22か国26地域にYNU海外同窓会があります。母国に帰った外国人卒業生、海外在住の日本人卒業生、現役学生、そしてYNU教職員が、情報交換や同窓会活動を通じて絆を深め、国や専門分野を超えて協力しあうネットワークの輪を構築しています。

As of April 2017, YNU has an alumni network covering 22 countries and 26

regions. YNU international graduates having returned to their countries,

Japanese alumni living abroad, current students, and YNU staff members can

deepen their bond and cooperation through information exchange and

alumni events beyond national borders and their own fields of expertise.

“Tutor” (Student Supporter) System

チューター制度

日本人または留学生の先輩学生が「チューター」として新入留学生の日常生活や、日本語や専門の勉強に関するサポートを行います。日本語があまりできない学生や、初めて外国で一人暮らしをする学生も、安心して新生活を始めることができます。

Senior Japanese or international students serve as “tutors” for newly admitted

international students to provide the necessary support for daily life and

studying Japanese and other specialized subjects. In this manner, students

who are not yet fluent in Japanese or those who are living abroad for the first

time can start a new campus life without any worries.

YNUには2016年11月現在、73ヶ国から942人の留学生が在籍しています。学内には留学生グループが多数存在し、自分と同じ国や文化圏から来ている先輩留学生と交流をもつことができます。グループのリストは国際教育センターのウェブサイトに掲載されています。

As of November 2016, 942 international students from 73 countries are

enrolled at YNU. As there are many international student groups, new

students can interact with senior international students from the same country

or culture. A list of these groups is posted on the website of the International

Student Center.

Free Japanese Language and Culture Courses

無料の日本語クラス

YNUの留学生は、日本語・日本文化の授業を無料で受講することができます。初級から上級まで6段階に分かれ、会話・作文・漢字等のスキル別のクラス編成もされているので、自分のレベルや学習目標に応じて履修することができます。留学生にとっては、様々な国・プログラムの留学生と知り合う機会にもなります。

At YNU, any international students can take courses on Japanese language

and culture free of charge. Students can study Japanese based on their

proficiency level and objectives, as we offer a wide variety of courses in six

proficiency levels from beginner to advanced, as well as courses to gain

specific skills in conversation, writing, kanji proficiency, etc. These courses are

a great way to get to know other international students from various countries

and programs.

105＆International Student Lounge105＆ISL

YNUでは、大学公認の学生サポートグループ「105」や「Student Lounge（通称：ISL）」などが、勉強（レポートの添削、テスト対策等）や学内の各種手続きのサポートを行うほか、ウェルカムパーティー、BBQ、インターナショナルフードパーティーなど、日本人と留学生の交流イベントを多数企画しています。

At YNU, an officially recognized student support groups “105” and the

“International Student Lounge (ISL)” provide support in studies (proofreading,

preparing for exams, etc.) and various procedures at the university. In

addition, welcome parties, BBQ parties, international food parties, and many

other events are organized to stimulate exchange among international and

Japanese students.

Studying at Japanese national universities is markedly

more economical compared to Western universities

and Japanese private universities, which charge a high

tuition. At Japanese national universities, all students

pay, in principle, the same tuition regardless of their

majors, nationalities and degree levels.

Admission to YNU is by no means easy, but once admitted, many

international students get tuition exemption as YNU has a tuition

waiver system for its students. In addition, there is a wide range of

scholarships available such as those of the Japanese government

(Monbukagakusho: MEXT), foreign governments, Japan Student

Services Organization (JASSO), and other private foundations.

1 学部私費外国⼈留学⽣⼊学選抜（YGEP-N1・YGEP-N2） YNU では、私費外国⼈留学⽣の⼊学選抜を YGEP-N1（渡⽇⼊試・渡⽇前⼊試）及び YGEP-N2（渡⽇前⼊試）

として以下のとおり実施します。 YGEP の正式名称は「横浜グローバル教育プログラム」です。YGEP-N1（渡⽇・渡⽇前⼊試）は来⽇して⽇本語を学ん

できた外国⼈、⼜は来⽇前にある程度⽇本語を学んだ外国⼈で、⽇本語能⼒試験（JLPT）N1 相当の者を対象とした⼊試です。⼊学後は⽇本⼈学⽣と⼀緒の通常カリキュラムを⽇本語で履修します。YGEP-N2（渡⽇前⼊試）は来⽇前に⽇本語を学んだ外国⼈で⽇本語能⼒試験（JLPT）N2 相当の者を対象とした⼊試です。⼊学後、1 年次では⽇本語と⽇本事情を重点的に履修し、2 年次以降で⽇本⼈と⼀緒に専⾨分野を⽇本語で学習します。どちらも⽇本語能⼒試験（JLPT）の受験は必要ありません。

英語での学位の取得を⽬指す⽅は 32 ページをご覧ください。⽇本国政府（⽂部科学省）奨学⾦留学⽣（国費留学⽣）については 35 ページをご覧ください。なお、ここに掲載されている情報は、2017 年 4 ⽉⼊学者対象の参考情報です。最新の内容については必ず各学部の募集要項等で確認してください。 1.1 取得できる学位・募集⼈員

1.2 出願資格 (参考：2017 年 4 ⽉⼊学者対象) ⽇本国籍を有しない者で、次の基礎資格を有し、かつ、要件を満たすもの【基礎資格】次のいずれかに該当する者

1．外国において学校教育における12年の課程を修了した者及び⼊学する年の3⽉31⽇までに修了⾒込みの者⼜はこれらに準ずる者で⽂部科学⼤⾂の指定したもの

2．⽂部科学⼤⾂の指定した者（国際バカロレア資格、アビトゥア資格（ドイツ）、バカロレア資格（フランス）のいずれかを有する者で⼊学する年の3⽉31⽇までに18歳に達するもの）

※外国において学校教育における12年の課程とは地理的、場所的に外国で原則として、その国において制度上正規の学校教育に位置付けられたものであって、修了により⼤学への受験資格を得られることを要します。インターナショナルスクールやアメリカンスクールなどの出⾝者（【基礎資格2.】を⾒満たす者は除く）については、本規定によって出願が認められない場合があるので早めに照会してください。

【要件】

次の 1 及び 2 に該当し、かつ 3 にも該当する者 1．出⼊国管理及び難⺠認定法において、⼤学⼊学に⽀障のない在留資格を有する者、もしくは取得できる者 2．2016年の6⽉実施⼜は2016年11⽉実施の⽇本留学試験を受験し、かつ各学部で指定する以下の要件（別表

P26）を満たしている者


3．各学部が指定するTOEFL、TOEIC⼜はIELTSを受験し、かつ各学部で指定する英語科⽬への対応等の要件（別表P5）を満たしている者

渡⽇前⼊試に出願する場合は、【要件】1〜3をすべて満たし、かつ次の1及び2を満たす者 1．2016年の6⽉実施⼜は2016年11⽉実施の⽇本留学試験を⽇本国外で受験する者 2．⽇本国外に在住する者

注1：⽇本国籍を有しない者であっても、⽇本の⾼等学校若しくは中等教育学校⼜は⽇本国内に設置されたその他の教育施設を卒業（修了）⼜は卒業（修了）⾒込みの者は、⼀般の⼊学志願者と同じ扱いになり、この項の選抜に該

当しないので注意してください。ただし、【基礎資格】2に該当する者は出願できます。注2：経済学部、経営学部志願者に当たっては、出願時に希望する教育プログラム（通常またはGEEP）を選択すること

になります。注3：理⼯学部志願者に当たっては、出願時に希望する教育プログラムを選択する必要があります。注4：在留資格「留学」を取得するにあたっては、留学⽣⽣活を維持できる経済的基盤を有している必要があります。
