Boom in registrations, closed months ahead of time. It’s all new at the Modena Cento Ore 2017 and ready to get going from June 6 th to 11 th : the team at Scuderia Tricolore and Canossa Events has prepared an exciting and exclusive programme for the teams taking up the gauntlet for four days on the most beautiful routes through Emilia-Romagna and Tuscany: from Rimini to Florence, Forte dei Marmi and Modena. There will also be three races held at the Misano, Magione and Mugello racetracks and 12 hill climbs on roads closed to normal traffic: a captivating mix of a rally and speed trials on the track, made even more exhilarating by the starting grid at the departure. The boom in registrations shows the event was met with great enthusiasm, as it was sold out months ahead of time with applications pouring in from all around the world. The Modena Cento Ore is the only rally in Italy, and one of just a handful around the world, where the crews challenge one another on both the racetrack and in special road stages: a captivating mix of a rally and speed trials on the track, made even more exhilarating by the starting grid at the departure. The ranking is calculated by adding the times of the track races together with the times of the special stages. There is also a ‘regularity’ stage held after the speed trials, following the same programme but with a more relaxed approach, with timed track races and average speed trials on roads closed to normal traffic, for crews who would rather relax and enjoy the drive. The organisers have confirmed one hundred successful applications; 65 of these will take part in the speed trials and 35 will follow in the regularity section. 18 motor vehicle manufacturers will be represented with Ferrari taking the lead, carefully selected to reflect the celebrations of the Maranello firm’s 70 th anniversary. The Modena Cento Ore is the only Italian event in 2016 that was nominated for the Rally of the Year at the International Historic Motoring Awards, the "Oscars" for the best classic car events in the world! For the second year running, the Cento Ore was on the shortlist of the best events in the world. The 2017 Route The route will cross Italy from east to west with a chain of spectacular legs, that the public is invited to come and watch. The marvellous cars will set out from Rimini on June 7 th for their first challenge on the track at the Marco Simoncelli Misano World Circuit, and then drive through San Marino, Sasso Simone and Simoncello Regional Park, Pennabilli, the Spino Pass, Chiusi della Verna, Bibbiena, the Croce ai Mori Pass, Casentino Forest National Park, and the Consuma Pass. On June 9th, the Cento Ore leaves Florence for the Mugello Circuit for an adrenalin rush on the racetrack, before driving through Garfagnana, Barga, il Ciocco and Pietrasanta. The leg will finish at Forte dei Marmi, one of the most famous resorts on the Versilia coast. Leg four will set out from Forte dei Marmi on June 10th and cross the Apuan Alps, entering Emilia across the Abetone Pass and bringing the day to a close at Modena, the heart of the ‘Motor Valley’. At Modena, the procession of cars will parade through Parco Novi Sad before reaching Piazza Grande, where the public will be able to watch the arrival of the splendid cars as they line up below the Ghirlandina bell tower. They are expected to start arriving at 16.30 and the winners will take the podium at 19.00. Modena Meeting This year, for the first time, there will be a “fringe event” organised alongside the Modena Cento Ore: enthusiasts, collectors, and gentlemen drivers from around the world will have the chance to be part of Modena Meeting on Saturday June 10th: a major celebration of motor vehicles open to all sports cars made in the “Motor Valley”. Any Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini or Pagani, whatever its age and wherever it comes from in the world, can take part in this memorable day celebrating the 70th anniversary of the “Prancing Horse”, giving a free rein to their passion for cars. The event will also be open to any classic Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Lancia or Abarth built before 1977. The route will take the registered crews to Motor Valley, where they can visit the museums of the most famous motor vehicle manufacturers: MEF, the Ferrari Museum at Maranello, the Lamborghini Museum and the Umberto Panini Collection, to find out more about the history of Italy's legendary cars in the pictures and the vehicles on display. Participants will also have the privilege of watching the parade of the Modena Cento Ore from the grandstand and the awards ceremony in Piazza Grande. For more information: www.modenameeting.it Why the Modena Cento Ore is one-of-a-kind The Modena Cento Ore is not just a competition; it is primarily a winning combination of fantastic cars and gentlemen drivers from all around the world who come here to enjoy a unique Italian experience, combining the adrenalin rush of the competition with the delights of Italian food and wine, and the chance to explore the country en route. The fatigue at the wheel will be compensated by the time set aside for more convivial moments, such as a ‘country fete’ in the town centre of Palazzuolo sul Senio, taking in the spiritual aura at the Franciscan Monastery at Chiusi della Verna, admiring the elegance of Ciocco Resort, and enjoying the full-bodied food and wine at the mountain chalet at the Radici Pass. The programme is enhanced by perfectly organised events after sundown, each offering a sample of the finest foods and wines of the four cities that will be hosting the rally: Rimini, Florence, Forte dei Marmi, and Modena. “The Modena Cento Ore is acknowledged as one of the most important rallies in the world and a meeting point for the top names in the industry.” says Luigi Orlandini, CEO of Scuderia Tricolore and the visionary founder of Canossa Events. “This has been demonstrated by our second nomination at the International Historic Motoring Awards, the ‘Oscars’ of classic car events, where the Cento Ore was the only Italian event on the shortlist of finalists from all around the

world. Its success is mainly due to the heartfelt enthusiasm of all those taking part and the passion of the close-knit team of people who work for a full 12 months so that the next year’s event will be even better. The event is made even more unique thanks to the support of high-calibre partners like RM-Sotheby’s, the world leading auction house, and Cuervo y Sobrinos, which was commissioned by the Organisers to design a special automatic watch. The Panathlon Club of Modena has once again confirmed its support, somewhat of a tradition by now, by placing an important donation in favour of sports projects for disabled children. The organisers have also confirmed their eco-friendly outlook by deciding to implement a CarbonZero protocol this year and so completely offset the residual emissions of CO2 by planting new trees in the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines: the Modena Cento Ore is the only ‘zero emissions’ event of its kind.
