In 1984 The Hungerford family started Litchfield International in Woodbury CT, in a one time health food store. Its mission was to introduce to the US construc-tion markets a revolutionary thermoplastic product that was used to install electrical conduit and cable. The European device had never been seen in this country. There had been nothing like this used in the trades. Litchfield International had invented the category of plastic fixing solutions.

For nearly 28 years, Litchfield was the exclusive importer of the Swiss device. Along the way, Litchfield built accessories using local manufactures and machine shops in the area. All the while, the owners yearned to become manufacturers and drivers of their own destinies.

In 2011 Litchfield International built a few Hangerlok molds and made product in CT. The products caught on with the Litchfield customers. That initial success in product development gave the owners courage to build the entire line of Hangerlok products 3/8-4 inch diameters.

Today, the same family manages the litchfield business, with the same care and dedication which began in 1984. They have built a new network of agencies that promote its Hangerlok line in the many construction markets. The combined efforts of these agents and Litchfield’s superior product and marketing programs have greatly widened its distribution channels of years ago.

Today the company services the world’s top distribution companies as well as leading engineering and contracting companies in the market segments. Litchfield has always enjoyed an impeccable reputation for service and performance based products. It has never strayed from its core category and its original business mission. Litchfield’s marketing theme has changed to Made in the USA, the right thing to do.

Who We Are

Litchfield International is a private Connecticut based company located in Litchfield CT. In 1984 the company introduced the first thermo-plastic support and hanger product in the United States.

To fulfill the company mission, it developed the Hangerlok line of supports and hangers for the major construction and engineering markets. “The better way forward.”

Material and UL Information

Hangerlok was developed to bring greater performance to construction, oem, design projects and the engineering community.Having the marketing and engineering knowledge of 28 years in these markets, the people who brought you the first thermoplastic support hanger, developed Hangerlok to improve function and performance driven application needs.

Using experienced designers, Solidworks engineers, independent testing parties to provide substantial data and improved design, Hangerlok was created.

Improved materials offer improved performance and broader application opportunities. Using a Nylon 6/ 6 polymer, Hangerlok can be used inside facilities and also exposed areas. Using both a UV inhibitor and a flame retardant, Hangerlok is durable and halogen free. It is by far the best material for this product type.

Being UV resistant along with it’s non-conductive qualities, Hangerlok’s versatility makes it a must have one piece pipe hanger and conduit support system.

Why the change?Over the years of selling the original auto-locking support and hanger, materials changed that did not meet market demands and certain applications. There needed to be a better product and Hangerlok met that need.
