Editor’s Note Welcome to our new, fresh edition of the newsletter. During these months of May and June,
we saw all four seasons (sometimes on one day) while enjoying quite a few public holidays. So
during these months of change, we also announce that regretfully Odilia Kunne is stepping
down from her position as Director of Communications. Odilia has compiled the newsletter,
and assisted numerous hours with organizing the Summits. She will be missed by all of us here
on the Chapter Board. Thank you for all your help Odilia! Keeping with the theme of the months of change,
we also acknowledge that we needed a fresher and modern format to our newsletter. So, enjoy reading and
let us have your feedback - or
Chapter Board News In April our Chapter attained the maximum $500 reimbursement level with the Chapter
Guest Pass program! With this achievement, we have been enrolled as a member of PMI’s
500 Club for 2016. Via this program we have attracted PMI members in the Netherlands
who have not yet joined our local chapter to discover the benefits and the value of
Rommert Stellingwerf participation at no additional cost for the remainder
of their membership cycles. Last year we received this award in
September, so we are making great progress in welcoming new
members this year.
Lastly, we have found a volunteer to temporarily take over the role of Board Secretary. Welcome on board
Paul van der Wilt.

Disruption! The PMI Netherlands Chapter in co-operation with CKC Seminars are preparing for the fifth edition on September 15th 2016 in Conference
Center Spant in Bussum, the Netherlands. In this Summit we will elaborate on the interrelation between Disruption and Project
Management. What is the key role of Project Management? What are the capabilities we need to develop? The lesson according to Josh
Linkner, author of The Road to Reinvention is simple: "disrupt or be disrupted." This Summit is a call for action and will look at disruption
from several viewpoints. There are all kinds of disruptions in every possible branch to be expected. We might be running late already in
preparing ourselves. What will project management look like in the era of disruption? What practices will then be embraced as ‘good’,
‘better’ or even ‘best’? One of your current practices? Lessons you learnt and worthy to spread among the community of Project
Managers? Interesting Summit Topics including but not limited to: How to incorporate a severe disruption into your project, leadership
and team adaptability? What if your project is disrupted, escalated and derailed? Beyond waterfall and agile? Shifting from delivering
results to delivering capabilities?
Keynote speakers
We are pleased to announce the Keynote speakers:
Watch this space for more on speakers coming soon!
Why should you all come to the Summit 2016? The Summit 2016 Program Committee would like to inspire all Project Management Professionals to attend this one-of-a-kind event.
“The PMI Summit is the opportunity in the Netherlands to bring researchers and practitioners in the field of project management together.
Over the last couple of years the programme for the Summit has been very appealing looking towards the future of project management via
learning from the past. Not only sharing best practices and learning from projects, but really looking towards what other approaches, the next
practices, are necessary to deliver more successful projects. This year’s theme “Disruption” will potentially be an extremely useful trigger to
further learn from experience and expect the unexpected. The programme is again a balanced mix of research and practical experience
brought together in one day. Do not miss it.” Prof. Dr. H. (Hans) L.M. Bakker

“Disrupt yourself or be disrupted. I am extremely proud to have the theme of disruption as a key-driver for the PMI Summit. Project leaders
are Change Managers and not to disrupt End2End in the development cycle of a project. This conference has great presenters who
throughout the project life cycle demonstrate how to get in control of projects and create transparency and predictability by being disruptive.”
Dr. ir. R. (Richard) P.G. Müller

More Profile on... Getjan Lammers, PMP:
My role in the PMI Netherlands Chapter is act as shadow for the Director of Events. This means that I support organizing events
and stepping in when required. Volunteering is a theme in my life from organizing the Giro d’Italia in my hometown of
Apeldoorn, to being a boy scout. From working with the International Federation of Red Cross Societies to coaching volleyball
teams; from being a member of the Parent Teacher’s Association to dredging rubbish from the canals. Each organization
thrives on volunteering and I want to stay sharp in this area. I volunteer because I find it important that PMI advances in the Netherlands.
It is my opinion that PM is the best way to get things done.
My involvement in the Chapter will be focused on organizing events, discussing improvements and better ways to connect with members.
The most time consuming part of my role is contacting new organizations and finding the right person to talk to. In the past I volunteered
for the Benelux Congress Sponsor team which is a benefit in my current role. It is a pleasure to meet and agree with people that support
the advancement of the Project Management profession.
I look forward to this because I feel that connecting digital and social realities is one of the key areas to develop in the coming years ahead.
There are so many possibilities created today by systems and technical solutions; we as humans need to understand how to harmonize
with this.
We listen to our audience and now have a fully-booked program until the end of 2016. The PMI’s Talent Triangle however is what I think is
a great platform to advance oneself and trust that many of you will find this as inspirational and motivational as I do.
Wishing you an excellent time ahead…………Let’s connect.
