InvitationWe are pleased to invite you to the 2016 Sydney Colorectal Surgical Meeting to be held at the Hilton Hotel in Sydney on Saturday 19 November. We have invited two distinguished international speakers from France and Great Britain to ensure that the spirit of “Entente Cordial” remains at the forefront of best practice when managing patients with complex colorectal conditions. Sessions will include anal pathology, anastomotic leakage and inflammatory bowel disease. The “Consultant’s Corner” should prove to be the highlight of the day and we urge you to note the date in your diary.

To complement the local Faculty we have asked Yann Parc and Robin Phillips to join us. Yann is Professor of Surgery at the University of Paris and Chief of Staff of the Department of Digestive and Colorectal Surgery at the Saint-Antoine Hospital. His principal research interest is hereditary cancers and he is the coordinator of the national French Centre for Hereditary Gastrointestinal Cancers and a member of the Mallorca Group (European Chapter) for INSiGHT (International Society for the investigation of Gastrointestinal Hereditary Tumours). Yann is frequently invited to participate on the ESCP (European Society of Coloproctology) scientific program and has a broad experience in all aspects of coloproctology. He is a member of the scientific program committee for the AFC (Association Française de Chirurgie).

Robin Phillips is well known to many of you. Robin is senior consultant surgeon at St Mark’s Hospital in London and Professor of Colorectal Surgery at Imperial College. Robin was the Director of the St Mark’s Polyposis Registry until 2013, Dean of St Mark’s Academic Institute and a past President of the Section of Coloproctology of the Royal Society of Medicine. His special interests include the management of anastomotic failure in the pelvis and the care of patients with complex fistula.

We hope to catch up with you in Sydney and we promise you an educationally stimulating, thoughtful and entertaining program.

According to us, the answer is no. But each new device takes us closer.

Our engineers are working hard to create new devices, but they can’t create these devices alone. The best ideas come from frustrated surgeons who want to give their patients better outcomes.

Talk to your Cook Medical representative about the tools that you need.
