SCHEDULE OF CLASSES
SHOW RULES AND REGULATIONS: “Every class offered herein which is covered by the rules and specifications of the current USEF Rule Book will be con‐ducted and judged in accordance therewith.” USEF MEMBERSHIP STATEMENT Life, senior active and junior active members shall be eligible to participate in all classes at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions at the Preliminary Level or above and Combined Driving Competitions at the Advanced Level, Dressage, Reining and Vaulting Competitions and Endurance Rides. A non‐member may participate as a handler, rider, driver, owner, lessee, agent, coach or trainer at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions, Dressage Competitions, Reining Competitions and Combined Driving Competitions upon payment of a $30 Show Pass fee. Participants in the following classes are exempted from the Requirements of this rule: 1) leadline; 2) exhibitions; 3) games and races; 4) classes for 4‐H members; 5) walk trot (exception: Friesian Performance FR218) and academy classes (academy classes are classes limited to horses used regularly in a lesson program); 6) USDF introductory level tests, pas de deux and quadrille classes; 7) NRHA Endorsed Reining Competi‐tions. 8) Opportunity classes, 9) citizens of other nations who have proof, in English, of current membership in good standing of their own National Federation, 10) USEA beginner novice division; and 11) assistant handlers in Dres‐sage Sport Horse Breeding classes. ARENAS: There are two covered arenas, Ring A is 120' x 255' and Ring B is 112' x 250'. The arena paddock is 70' x 155'. The arenas have sand and clay footing. Longeing rules – There will be no lunging permitted in the competition arena or warm up arena during performances. All longeing activity must end at least 15 minutes prior to the start of each horse show session. Lunging will be permitted in the outdoor arenas at all times. BEDDING AND FEED: Due to fire safety codes, stalls may not be bedded in straw or hay. Shavings may be used and will be available on the Show Grounds. NO FREE BEDDING WILL BE PROVIDED. Upon your arrival, contact the show man‐ager to make arrangements for bedding. Arrangements may also be made with the barn manager for feed or there are several feed stores in the area. To pre‐order bedding, please call Lisa Decuir at (210) 884‐5567. (refer to stall chart) CLASSES: The Show Management reserves the right to consolidate or cancel any class in which there are fewer than three (3) entries. While no new classes will be added to this year's show schedule, we would be happy to take any class change/addition suggestions for next year. DOGS: According to regulations at the Show Facility ALL DOGS MUST BE KEPT ON A LEASH. Dogs found running loose will be impounded and owners charged $200.00 for release. In addition, the State of Texas requires that all dogs over 3 months of age have proof of rabies shots. Please have the rabies certificate with you. Tags are not considered proof of vaccination by state officials. ENTRIES: All entries shall be made on the official entry form for this horse show and signed by the owner and his agent. A horse must be entered in the name of the legal owner only. No horse may be entered on more than one entry form. All American Saddlebred and Morgan entries are required to provide a copy of the registration papers showing proof of current ownership to the Horse Show Office before back numbers can be issued. To save time in the show of‐fice, all entries are encouraged to send copies of applicable memberships cards and registration papers showing own‐ership along with their entries. ENTRIES MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY PAYMENT OF ALL FEES. CHAMPIONSHIP ENTRIES: Unless otherwise noted, an entry that has been entered, shown & judged in any other class in the same Section is qualified for that Championship but not required to show. CHAMPIONSHIP CLASSES MUST BE ENTERED. Entries will not be automatically made on the basis of qualification. In the event an entry is qualified for more than one Championship class in the same performance, a choice may be made by the exhibitor of which to show in. NO POST ENTRY FEES FOR CHAMPIONSHIP CLASSES WILL BE CHARGED. FACILITY: Stabling consists of permanent wooden box stalls with doors. Vendor space is available at a rate of $35 per day. Please contact Dewey Bass at (502) 295‐7244 for reservations or more information. No horses are to be tied to any trees or fences. Trailers are to be parked in designated areas only. All horses must be stalled overnight – no excep‐tions.
FOOD SERVICE: Food service will be available on site during horse show hours. HEALTH REQUIREMENTS: Texas State Animal Commission Requirements must be met for All Horses. Each horse com‐ing on the Show Grounds must be accompanied by a current (within 45 days) Health Certificate and a certificate show‐ing a negative Coggins test within 12 months for all in state horses and 6 months for all out of state horses as of the show date. The SASHA Horse Show reserves the right to refuse entry to, disqualify or eject from the show any person or horse deemed by the management in its sole discretion to be in violation of such law and shall have no obligations to refund fees and no other liability to any exhibitor for any action so taken, or for any penalty which may be assessed against any person violating said law. JUDGING SYSTEM: A single judge system will be used in all classes. Should unforeseen circumstances arise, the show management reserves the right to add or substitute a judge if necessary. MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS: All owners, trainers, rider/driver/handlers in Morgan classes must be current standard members of the American Morgan Horse Association or pay a $45 non‐member fee. All owners, rider/driver/handlers in Saddlebred classes must be current competing members of the American Saddlebred Horse Association. MINORS/DRIVING: Minors who do not have a valid driver’s license which allows them to operate a motorized vehicle in the state in which they reside will not be permitted to operate a motorized vehicle of any kind including, but not lim‐ited to, golf carts, motorcycles, scooters, or farm utility vehicles on the competition grounds of licensed competitions. Minors who have a valid temporary license may operate the above described motorized vehicles as long as they are accompanied by an adult with a valid driver’s license. The parent(s), legal guardian(s), or individual who signs the entry blank as a parent or guardian of a minor operating a motorized vehicle in violation of this rule are solely responsible for any damages, claims, losses or actions resulting from that operation. Violations of this rule will be cause for sanctions against the parent(s), guardian(s) and/or trainer(s) who are responsible for the child committing the offense. Penalties may include exclusion of the child, parent(s), guardian(s), and/or trainer(s) from the competition grounds for the re‐mainder of the competition and charges being filed against any of the above individuals in accordance with Chapter 6. Wheelchairs and other mobility assistance devices for individuals with disabilities are exempt from this rule. NUMBERS: Numbers to be worn by exhibitor will be assigned to each horse. This number must be worn in the show ring. OPPORTUNITY CLASSES: Open to All Breeds/USEF Recognized/Non‐Rated: For exhibitors new to USEF Recognized shows. Classes are open to all breeds. No USEF memberships or non‐member fees are required. However, if the rider is a member of USEF or the horse has been issued a USEF Horse ID number, those numbers must appear on the entry blank. Exhibitors are exempt from the USEF Drug Fee is showing only in the Opportunity Division or are showing in the Opportunity Division and Non‐USEF Recognized Divisions, such as the Academy Division. Show attire is optional and, if used, should match the style of riding, but long‐sleeved shirt, long pants, and boots with a heel are required as a mini‐mum regardless of style of riding. Either hunt seat, saddle seat, or western equipment may be used. Training equip‐ment will not be permitted. Riders may cross enter into other classes at the show, but all applicable fees and member‐ship requirements (for those classes) apply. No prize money will be paid. Horses will be asked to flat walk, trot, and canter both ways of the ring in each class (except in Walk and Trot only classes). Horses must give the distinct appear‐ance of being a pleasure to ride and display a pleasurable attitude. To be judged on manners, performance, quality, presence and conformation. Special emphasis is placed on a true flat walk. Use the Academy/Opportunity Class Entry Form. POST ENTRIES: Post entries for horses previously entered will be accepted at regular class fees up to 1 hour prior to the performance in which the class is to be held. PRIZE MONEY: Will be deducted from the show bill at the completion of the show. If required, any other amount due will be paid by check and mailed within 30 days following the horse show.

PROMPT ENTRANCE OF THE SHOW RING: A two‐minute gate will be held for each class. Exhibitors are encouraged to be prompt for classes. We have a lengthy schedule and need everyone's cooperation. In the event that an exhibitor finds he needs a gate hold between classes, please inform the paddock master as soon as possible. Every effort will be made to honor these requests. PROTESTS: All protests will be handled in accordance with USEF Rule GR603. Exhibitors are expected to act in a sports‐manlike manner at all times. Any unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated. REFUNDS: If entries are cancelled in writing and accompanied by a veterinarian's certificate of inability to show prior to the official start of the Horse Show (10:00 AM, Friday, March 4, 2016), all fees other than the Office Fee and the Stall Fee will be refunded. During the show, entry fees only will be refunded and only if horses scratched are examined by the Show Vet and certified to be unable to show. In no case will any fees be refunded after the completion of the show. REFUSAL OF ENTRIES: In addition to the entries of persons suspended or expelled by USEF, this show also reserves the right to refuse the entries of any exhibitor or participation of any agent, trainer or rider who has shown an objection‐able attitude or un‐sportsmanlike conduct at previous horse shows. RESPONSIBILITY: All entries are accepted with the understanding that neither SAN ANTONIO SADDLE HORSE ASSOCIA‐TION nor SAN ANTONIO ROSE PALACE will be responsible for any loss, personal injury or damage to horses exhibited or for any article of any kind or nature that may be lost of destroyed or in any way damaged. All horses shall be under the control and direction of the Show Committee but solely at the risk of the exhibitor or exhibitor's agent, who will be re‐sponsible for any loss, damage or injury to any person, animal or property occasioned by him or his agents or employ‐ees, or by any animal owned or exhibited by him, and shall indemnify THE SAN ANTONIO SADDLE HORSE ASSOCIATION and the show facility against any and all loss, damage and liability thus occasioned, including attorney fees, which may be incurred as a result thereof. The submitting of an entry form to Show Management shall constitute acceptance of the provisions herein set forth. RV & TRAILER: RVs and Trailers must be parked in their designated areas only. There is a fee of $35 per night. You must pay prior to hooking up to any electric outlet. You may not plug in until you are assigned your space and pay the fee at the show office. RV/Trailers are NOT ALLOWED to plug‐in to outlets in stall areas. SCRATCHES: Exhibitors are encouraged to make scratches at least one hour prior to the starting of the performance in which the class is to be held. Those exhibitors scratching classes at least one hour in advance of the performance will not be charged class entry fees. STALLS AND AVAILABILITY: Stall assignments will be made by the Show Management. NO STALL WILL BE ASSIGNED UNLESS ALL FEES ARE PAID with stall requests. Stalls are permanent 12 x 12 box stalls, with doors, under cover and ALL HORSES MUST BE STALLED. Day exhibitors may pay a grounds fee in lieu of the stall fee. Stalls will be available starting Wed. March 2, 2016. Horses stalled before the move‐in date, but no earlier than Monday at noon, will be charged $20.00 per day, per horse. ALL ACCOUNTS MUST BE PAID IN FULL BY THE END OF THE SHOW, SUNDAY, MARCH 6, 2016. SHARPS CONTAINERS: Sharps containers are provided in numerous areas throughout the facility for the proper dis‐posal of needles and other sharp objects. Competition management may fine any individuals including trainers, own‐ers, exhibitors, or their agents up to $100 for improper disposal of needles or other sharp disposable instruments.
STRIPPING: Morgan championship classes will NOT be stripped. VETERINARIAN: The official Horse Show Vet will be on call for all horse show performances. Contact information will be posted in the Horse Show Office. WASHING OF HORSES: Facilities for washing horses are provided. DO NOT WASH HORSES IN ANY OTHER AREA. JACKPOT CLASSES: In lieu of ASB Open Classes and Championships, one jackpot class will be offered. The winner of each jackpot class will be awarded half of the total entry fees collected for that particular class plus the prize money, if applicable. Entry fee of $100 per class. FEE SCHEDULE:

ACADEMY DIVISION The Lesson Horse 1. Open only to horses or ponies used in a Lesson Program. 2. Horses may cross enter in performance classes at the same show. 3. Academy Performance classes shall be judged on the riders horsemanship and the overall pic‐
ture of the rider and horse. 4. Academy Equitation classes shall be judged on basic equitation skills. 5. English tack is to be used, unless otherwise specified. Full, Snaffle or Pelham bridles may be
used. The Academy Rider/Driver 1. Open to students enrolled in a lesson program. 2. Academy riders may cross enter into another division, but not at the same show, with the ex‐
ception of a driving class. 3. Headers are allowed in all Academy classes if needed for safety. 4. Once a rider has shown in a canter class – of any breed‐ they may not return to the walk/trot
division. 5. Age of entries is determined by the age as of Dec 1 of the previous year – USEF rules. 6. Braiding and Hoof Blackening is optional. 7. Acceptable Attire – dark slacks or jods – boots or footwear with heels – collared shirt with vest
or sweater – man’s tie – Derbies or other traditional headgear is optional – No riding suits or day coats are allowed.
The Academy Maiden Division 1. For riders who have never won a blue ribbon in a Walk/Trot/Canter class. The Academy Limit Division 1. For riders who have won less than six blue ribbons in Walk/Trot/Canter classes. 2. Maiden riders qualify for this division. The Advanced Academy Division 1. For riders 17 & Under, who have won six or more blue ribbons AND have competed in the Acad‐
emy Walk/Trot/Canter division for at least 2 years. 2. All blue ribbons won in the last two years (Dec 1, 2011 – Dec 1, 2013) in the W/T/C division – in
any division – count toward which division you will show in. 3. Blue ribbons won in a one horse class do not count. 4. Any rider wishing to move up to the Advanced division may do so – but may not return to the
maiden division. Leadline 1. Children must be 8 and under. Horse is to be led by an attendant at all times.
