WAY OF WORKING

Page 7: 2016 . Q2 . Presentation . Steam

• Save money: Switch to Sustainable Heating contract heat and you can immediatelyreduce your process energy costs by 10 to 30 % compared to fossil fuels such as heatingoil or propane, with zero upfront investment. Solar and Biogas are naturally free...

• Become greener: Biomass Fuel, Solar and Biogas are renewable and thus carbon neutral. All our installations comply with the world‘s highest (Austrian, Geman, Californian)emmision standards - saving the environment and carbon tax. Waste from theprocessing of timber is an industry challenge, while Solar and Biogas are nature‘s gift. These are now efficiently harnassed forthe responsible development of mankind.

• Support the local economy, save local jobs: The biomass waste material used as rawbiofuel is sourced in your local community, the biomass chips are produced in yourneighborhood by local people and hauled by local companies.

• Reduced uncertainty: Biomass (wood, husk, sawdust etc), Solar Power and Biogas aresustainable, environmentally responsible, renewable energy sources, as opposed to thedepleting fossil fuels such as coal, where competition and prices are increasing.

Risk Control

• Operators on-site 24/7• South African technical support team available 24/7• Suppliers helpdesk 24/7• Collaboration from Client technical team is usually requested, as to promote skills transfer

and Client understanding of our modern installations.

ASSISTANCE BACK-UP RESPONSIBILITIES AVOIDED RISKS

Page 9: 2016 . Q2 . Presentation . Steam

Risk Control

• Sustainable Heating will supply and operate up a back-up boiler system on-site, with theseparate installation fueled from an independent source.

• Back-up system always operational within 2 hours of demand.• Maintenance, management and operation of back-up system is part of the service provided

by Sustainable Heating.

ASSISTANCE BACK-UP RESPONSIBILITIES AVOIDED RISKS

Page 10: 2016 . Q2 . Presentation . Steam

Risk Control

• At any given time during the contract period, Sustainable Heating has to:– Supply Steam– At the correct pressure/temperature– When requested– At the predefined price– Comply with the site rules of the Client– Observe and comply with Health and Safety Legislation, independently and in collaboration with the

Client– Observe and comply with all relevant legal requirements pertaining to Pressure Vessels, including

ancillary equipment and installations

ASSISTANCE BACK-UP RESPONSIBILITIES AVOIDED RISKS

Page 11: 2016 . Q2 . Presentation . Steam

Risk Control

• Very few risks are associated with biomass fueled boiler installations:– Fuel storage in specially designed bunkers, not fuel tanks.– Minimal dust, noise and smoke: No significant public health threat.– No rehabilitation in case of spillage, minimal ash waste produced.(0,2%)– No pollution or environmental problems with biomass fuels or boilers.

• Low fuel costs, as biofuel consists of processed waste material.• Our furnaces can run on a wide fuel range, with varying moisture

content up to 55%. (E.g. Saw dust, woodchips, briquettes, energy croppellets, husk, bagasse, corn stalks, etc.)

• Sustainable Heating operates several chipping- and biofuel productionfacilities, with more than 30 suppliers of raw material.

• Price per Ton of steam in the Client’s plant, based on:– Volume of fuel:– Fuel type:– Fuel price:– Maintenance (Scheduled):– Water treatment:– Payroll: Operators, Management:– Rent of Boiler House:– Additional costs: (Repairs, relocation, replacement of old equipment, etc.)

NOTE: These expenses are all included in the price of our steam

COST ANALYSIS PROPOSAL DISCUSSION SIGNATURE

Page 22: 2016 . Q2 . Presentation . Steam

The Steam Technology: Next Steps

• Sustainable Heating prepares a specific solution:

– A structured price proposal– A detailed technical design proposal– A draft contract (Long-term Steam Supply Agreement) for discussion– A mutual confidentiality agreement to protect the Parties

COST ANALYSIS PROPOSAL DISCUSSION SIGNATURE

Page 23: 2016 . Q2 . Presentation . Steam

The Steam Technology: Next Steps

• Using the base proposal Sustainable Heating and the Client discuss:– The anticipated steam/heating needs– The design and ideal location of the new biomass boiler installation– The contract terms– The specificities of the site and the industry

• All the details are captured in a final contract

COST ANALYSIS PROPOSAL DISCUSSION SIGNATURE

Page 24: 2016 . Q2 . Presentation . Steam

The Steam Technology: Next Steps

• Once the Parties agree, the final contract is signed• Sustainable Heating orders the required equipment, and prepares to install the new

biomass boiler system• Usually, 6 months have to be foreseen until commissioning:

– Boiler construction and shipping– Building plans approval and construction of new boiler house– Boiler installation, including ancillary equipment and piping– Building completion and finishing, including landscaping– Piping and ty-in to Client installation– Testing, certification and commissioning of boiler and installation
