T he Staff Association, of St Aloysius College
(Autonomous) every year has a unique get together of
the staff present and retired with their family members.
This year the Staff Association Day was celebrated on
2nd April 2016. Mr Santhosh Notagar was the convener
of the event. The celebration began with games where
staff, their spouses and children participated. The for-
mal programme was under the president ship of Mr
Lawrence Pinto who welcomed the gathering. Ms Priya
Shetty, secretary of the association read the report for
the year 2015-16. Rev Fr Denzil Lobo SJ, the rector and
Rev Fr Swebert D'silva SJ, the principal addressed the
Aloysian family and also distributed prizes for the year
long sports activities conducted. the cultural programme
which followed the formal programme was very enter-
taining. The staff Association day is indeed a feast
where all the family members of the staff present and
retired come together with the management as one Alo-
ysian family.

Staff Association Day - 2016 MOU with Wilmington University
A n MOU between Wilmington University and St Alo-
ysius College (Autonomous), Mangalore, India was
signed on 30-04-2016 at St Aloysius College, Mangalore.
The documents were exchanged between Rev. Fr Swe-
bert D‟Silva, the Principal of St Aloysius College and Ms
Simone Marie George, Director of Government Relations
on behalf of Wilmington University, USA in the pres-
ence of Rev. Fr Dynisious Vas, Rector, Fr Denzil Lobo,
Former Rector, Dr A.M. Narahari, Registrar, Prof. Vin-
cent Mascarenhas, Dean, International Relations, Rev.
Fr Praveen Martis and Dr Sandra C. Williamson, Pro-
fessor Chair, Instruction and Applied Technology in
Education
The MOU will enable both the institutions for a fruitful
and constructive partnership for exchange of students,
exchange of staff, conducting joint academic pro-
grammes and research.
A detailed proposal to take our understanding forward
with the opportunities and other possibilities will be
worked out from both sides shortly.

DEPARTMENT OF MBA BON VOYAGE - BATCH 2014 - 16
A solemn Farewell function for the outgoing 2014 –
16 Batch of the Department of MBA was organized on
the 28th April 2016. The function commenced with a
prayer service conducted by Rev. Fr Denzil Lobo S.J,
Rector, St Aloysius Institutions. Rev. Fr Pradeep Sequei-
ra S. J. and Rev. Fr Manoj D‟ Souza were present at the
occasion.
A Photographic memento was distributed to each stu-
dents at the end of the prayer service. An informal func-
tion was organized by the I MBA students bidding adieu
to their beloved seniors.
DEPARTMENT OF MBA WORKSHOP ON TIME VALUE OF MONEY
A workshop on Time Value of money using excel as a
tool was conducted by the department on Monday
30/5/16 for the faculty members. The Resource Person
for the program was Mr. Ruben Menezes, Associated
Financial Advisors Pvt. Ltd., Mangalore. The audience
for the workshop we people in the Financial Industry
like Banks, Mutual Funds, Insurance etc. and faculty
members and students too
Academic Evaluation of the Departments
Internal assessment marks/Examinations are Not
Optional
Do not entertain late comers to the class
During first hour no student is allowed to sit at
Katte.
Dress Code for Student should be strictly main-
tained on all days
Onam celebrations should be restricted for one day

T he Departmental Evaluation meetings were held
from March 23, 2016 to April 13, 2016 . Rev. Fr Swebert
D‟Silva Principal, Dr A.M. Narahari, Registrar and Dr
Denis Fernandes, IQAC Coordinator led the evaluation
process. Each Department presented their reports
along with students feedback and made a SWOC analy-
sis. Dr A.M. Narahari scrutinized BOS, BOE meeting
minutes and gave necessary suggestions. The place-
ment Cell Coordinator Ms Kavitha gave a brief report of
Placement details of each faculty during 2015-16. Prin-
cipal concluded the meetings with the following re-
marks.
Regularity & punctuality for Class & invigilation
Signing on time (Twice)
To be in the campus except for lunch break
Staff to switch off mobiles during the class hours,
lab & exam invigilation
Outside Unwanted Elements not to be Entertained
Staff should be Unbiased to Students
Class guides should be on time to sign leave notes
ID Cards compulsory for both Teachers and Stu-
dents
Staff to be present for All College Programmes
Staff to publish at least one paper per year in a re-
puted journal
Staff in charge must send list of participants stu-
dents to Vice Principal when they are deputed for
competitions
Staff to take up Guide ship
Student intake coming down in some PG Depart-
ments and steps to be taken.
Staff must accompany students in Rural Exposure
Camps
All science teachers should take equal number of
Theory Classes
Students to be in the Library when there are no
classes
Counselling Services are available to the students.

Assistant Professor of Zoology department gave demon-
stration on vermicompost preparation.

Milana - 2016
M ilana- 2016 Field Work Partners Meet held at Audi-
torium St Aloysius College (Autonomous) Mangaluru on 12
April 2016 at 2.30 pm organised by P.G. Department of So-
cial Work. There were around 20 members were participat-
ed from various NGOS and hospitals. The purpose was to
acknowledge and appreciate their service in training our
MSW students.
