You won’t want to miss this party!

Each August, thousands of people gather for one of the biggest celebrations in Oregon. Oregon Wine Experience® is a week-long destination event full of great wine, delicious food, entertainment, and above all – fun!

We’re happy to announce more than 50 wineries will participate in this year’s Oregon Wine Experience®, providing the perfect opportunity for guests to experience the vastness of our region’s excellent wines.

Southern Oregon wineries continue to produce great wines. Our wineries are garnering national and international attention; see the February 2016 Wine Enthusiast “10 Best Wine Travel Destinations.” For those familiar with the region, this comes as no surprise. A diversity of micro-climates and variance in soil type gives growers the opportunity to have variety and quality. Long hours of sun, cool nights and warm days, moderate annual precipitation, and well-draining soil ensures superior fruit for producing complex wines of over 70 varietals.

As you explore this exciting area you will discover some of the captivating perks of Southern Oregon. Known for its incredible scenic beauty Southern Oregon also attracts guests for the nationally acclaimed Oregon Shakespeare Center and the Britt Music Festival. Crater Lake National Park, the world renowned Rogue and Umpqua Rivers, the Oregon Caves, fertile valleys and forested hillsides provide the backdrop to 120 vineyards and wineries. The pleasant and peaceful tasting rooms, breathtaking views, and friendly staff create an atmosphere that is one-of-a-kind!

In 2015, Oregon Wine Experience® raised over half a million dollars and 100% of those proceeds went to Asante Foundation’s Children’s Miracle Network and other Asante healthcare programs.

2016 Oregon Wine Experience® – Calendar of EventsHighlights of this year’s event include the following:

• Oregon Wine Competition®, August 6th & 7th, with two judging panels composed of noted wine professionals and wine writers.

• Oregon Wine University, August 12th to August 26th, several classes for our guests to choose from including the “Riedel Wine Glass Seminar” and “New World versus Old World”, wine and food pairings and some new concepts.

• Medal Celebration, Wednesday, August 24th, announcing and honoring the medal winning wines and wineries.

• Ultimate Vintner Dinners, Thursday August 25th and Friday August 26th, participating wineries and restaurants host small groups of our guests for the ultimate wine and culinary experience. Our guests are still telling their friends the Ultimate Vintner Dinner they attended was the best.

• Barrel Auction, Friday, August 26th, a select group of wineries will be offering guests wine tastings directly from the barrel, and later they will have the chance to bid on a variety of custom crush and wine futures.

• Miracle Auction and Salmon Bake, Saturday, August 27th, featuring the medal winning wines, a salmon bake dinner, silent and live auctions, plus live music and dancing!

• Grand Tasting, Sunday, August 28th, a chance for the public to sample all the amazing wines from Southern Oregon, and enjoy great food and music.

The impact of this event is immense and it all stays within our community. Just another reason to come join the party!

By participating in the Oregon Wine Experience®, you will be supporting Asante Children’s Miracle Network. As one of 170 Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) hospitals in the country, Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center provides the highest level of pediatric care in the region. They’re serving a quickly growing population, treating over 29,000 children last year alone. Nationally, CMN hospitals influence the lives of more children than any other organization in the world.

Children’s Miracle Network is just one beneficiary of the Asante Foundation. The Asante Foundation’s primary goal is to advance the objectives of the Asante health system, by generating private support and encouraging community involvement. Foundation healthcare programs support various initiatives, including hospitality houses, cancer compassion funds, nursing excellence programs, cardiac rehabilitation centers, and more.
