Who are you? General What does AIESEC expect from you? If you are interested in joining AIESEC Twente, these are some aspects we would like to see in the applications:

Enthusiastic people with good motivation for joining AIESEC; Students with a global view and international interests; Team players; Ambitious people who want to achieve something in today’s world; Pro-activity; Good social skills; Commitment to the organization, your team and your function.

Time commitment It is quite obvious that as a full-time board member you are expected to work for AIESEC 40 hours a week. As a part-time board member you are part of your team, but also of AIESEC Twente. This means that you will spend 15 hours a week on average with your team and AIESEC. You will be working 1/3 of your time for your team, 1/3 of your time on function specific tasks and 1/3 of your time for AIESEC in general. This last part includes attending both national and international conferences and other AIESEC events throughout the year. On every Monday evening there are team meetings and an LC meeting before which each team will have dinner together. After the meetings the entire LC has drinks together to enjoy and share their social life. Are you up for the challenge? Keep on reading to find out more about the possibilities!

"I commend AIESEC's continuing efforts to develop the future business leadership of our countries." Nelson Mandela

"The United Nations has long recognized that the imagination, ideals and energies of young men and women are vital for the continuing development of the societies in which they live. And since its inception in 1948, AIESEC has contributed to this development by serving as an agent of positive change through education and cultural exchange. In an era of globalization, your programs have helped young people around the world to develop a broader understanding of cultural, socio-economic and business management issues." Kofi Annan

Who are we? AIESEC is the international platform for young people to explore and develop their leadership potential. AIESEC was founded after the Second World War by a group of young people from Europe. Our fundamentals were shaped by the social, economic and political climate of the time. Since then, the world has been changing faster than ever before. We believe that young people hold the key to a better future and they must learn to adapt quickly and solve problems. This is why AIESEC strives for Peace & Fulfilment of Humankind’s Potential. In today’s context, ‘Peace’ does not necessarily mean avoiding war. Peace can symbolize a world that does not have conflicts that arise from cultural, religious, or other aspects of differences in humanity. Peace can also symbolize being in harmony with yourself. AIESEC strives to build a world where people can work towards their own understanding of peace, while respecting and understanding the views of others. AIESEC is a platform for young people to explore and develop their leadership potential. After going through an experience with AIESEC, young people are better prepared to make a positive impact in any sphere they would choose. Every AIESEC experience (our exchange programs and our board positions) seeks to prepare youth to take a stand on what they care about and become capable to make a difference through their everyday actions. During these experiences we as an organization aim to develop characteristics within young people according to our leadership development model, as can be seen in the figure. Together, we develop leadership for a positive impact on society.
