Why use an Online Release Program?

FAQs How do I find eligible Release Program products?Look for this symbol next to a product in this catalog! Dozens of products are available! See page 99 for a complete list.

How do I get started with an online release program?When you place your initial badge or tag order, extra badges or tags are ordered and invoiced. The extras are then placed in our inventory program. Later when you need more badges, names are entered online and shipped directly to you!

Will the format of my badge stay the same?Your order details are stored online. Including logo placement, name details (font, number of lines, etc) and fastener options. This insures consistency. Your branding is very important to us!

What is the cost?Each item placed into inventory is charged an addition-al $2.95g. This fee covers inventory and shipping costs for future orders.

Any way to save money on release program charge?YES! Choose a minimum release of 5 per location for only $1.70g per item. Prefer to use your own UPS or FedEx account? The price is $1.15g per item.

What if I only need one badge right now?Release as many as you need! One or one hundred! Each order can ship exactly where you need it to go, saving you from handling orders again.

How does the Online Release Program work?

FAQs I have a very long list of names.Great! You can upload your spreadsheet through our online ordering website.

How fast will my badges come?Badges are shipped within 2-3 business days of receiv-ing your order. Allow additional time for shipping.

We have many stores we want to ship to.Terrific! We will upload your store address list. It will be available when you place your order.

How will I know if I am low on badges?With your initial order we will set a reorder point. You will receive an email alerting you to your low stock level. Contact your distributor to reorder!

How long will you keep my badges in stock?As long as you are actively releasing products from your program we will keep it open. After 2 years of inactivity, your program will be closed.

How do shipping charges work with this program?There is no shipping charge or invoice when products are released. Released products normally ship First Class Mail to USA addresses. Alternate shipping methods are available for an addi-tional cost. International shipping is also available when you provide a shipping carrier account num-ber. If we receive a charge for an address correction, you will be invoiced for charges.

Tips for Lasering on Wood ProductsWe can laser halftones from photos or logos and the effects on wood can be very subtle. The laser interprets black as 100% power. White is 0% power. Halftones are lasered as a percentage of power. See samples below lasered at 50% power (or 50% black).

Tips for UV Inkjet Products Our UV inkjet printer applies ink to the surface of the product. Full-color logos can now be used with any of our engraving materials to give you the best of both worlds!Material color?

• White. No problem, you’ll get great results on any of our white materials.• Colored material. We generally will print white first, to get the color you expect.

What digital format is your logo? • EPS (vector file). You’ll be able to pick and choose where the white will appear behind

your logo. • JPG or TIF. We will need to review the artwork. The white will generally need to be

placed under the entire image.

Tips for Sublimated Products Sublimation printing uses heat and pressure to chemically bond ink to the substrate. We have a variety of name badges and tags available using this printing method. Materials?

• Aluminum badges are available in gold, silver and white. Want a colored background? We can print any color background you want!

• Hardboard badges are available for a heavy duty badge. It is our thickest badge (1/8”) with a bright white background for great imprint quality.

• Aluminum tags are available in silver with imprint on 1 or 2 sides.Artwork & Sublimation

• Full-color imprint allows us to use vector and bitmap images. White ink is not available on sublimated products. Need white? Use one of our white metals or hardboard. The imprint appears transparent, allowing the metal finish to shine through. The black ink however is opaque and extremely useful for text.

Black is great for text. Transparent inks allow metal to shine through.

Lasered LogosLasered logos are available on select badge and nameplate products. Laser setup charge of $40.00g will apply to your initial order. Condensing PersonalizationWith the automation of personalization has come some additional issues that need to be addressed when ordering your personalized products. If a name and/or title is too long, what should we do? There are several options:

3 Truncate the information Truncating your imprint will cut-off the information at the end of a line. For example if Stephanie Johnson wanted her title Vice President of Sales and Marketing on her badge. We may end cutting off many letters off her title because there isn’t sufficient room on the badge.

Artwork Specifications

Electronic Artwork Specifications

ArtworkThe best results are achieved by sending us electronic artwork. With our digital printing technology you can use Pantone® spot colors in your artwork. PMS matching charges may apply. See list below for specifications. We prefer to receive EPS, PDF or TIF images. We will resize artwork to fit desired product.

HalftonesWe reproduce screen printed halftones at 65-85 line. We screen print traditional halftones. Halftones cannot be reproduced with metallic inks. See page 94 for tips on using halftones on wood products.

Artwork ChargesArtwork charges may be necessary if additional time is required to bring artwork up to acceptable standards. We bill artwork charges at $100.00g/hour with a minimum charge of 15 minutes. If you are add-ing photos to any product, please contact customer service regarding detailed digital photo requirements or see page 14.

Copy & Color ChangesChange of ink color within an order, add $25.00g. Material colors can be changed at no additional cost. For change of copy (example: tag line on badge or name and phone number on business card magnets) add $25.00g per change. Copy changes need to be a minimum of half our lowest catalog quantity.

ProofsElectronic proof of product layout is $12.50g. Electronic proofs are a PDF document, emailed to you. We proof layouts only, not namelists.

BleedsWe recommend a ⅛” bleed beyond the products imprint area. Art-work without a sufficient bleed may require artwork charges. Bleeds are not available on all products, see product page for details. Artwork is normally placed ⅛” from each edge, unless specified with order.

Writing on ProductsMany of our products are designed to be written on with different types of pens, markers or chalk. Laminated products are easily written on with a dry erase marker. Other products vary. Request a sample to test with writing instrument you are going to use!

Spec SamplesAn actual preproduction sample of a product will incur appropriate setup charges. Preproduction samples are produced in our normal production time. Artwork, setup charges, PMS match charges and shipping charges will be billed on spec sample invoice.

Color Matching • Screen PrintingScreen Printing uses mixed inks to apply individual colors to the surface of the product. PMS color matches are $40.00g per match. Charges will appear on all reorders. PMS matches are not guaranteed. Dramatic changes in appearance of ink color will occur on dark plas-tics, brass, aluminum or wood.

Color Matching • Digital PrintingDigital Printing is done using a 4-color process press. For PMS colors please specify colors from the Pantone® Color Bridge® swatch book or the Pantone® Process swatch book. PMS matches are not guaranteed, but will be as close as digital printing allows. Neon and metallic colors are not available on digital products.

Color Matching • UV Inkjet PrintingUV Inkjet Printing uses process colors to apply ink to the surface of the product. PMS matches are not guaranteed, but will be as close as digital printing allows. Neon and metallic colors are not available on digital products. Dramatic changes in appearance of ink color will occur on dark plastics, metals and wood.

Color Matching • Sublimation PrintingSublimation printing uses heat and pressure to chemically bond ink to the substrate. Color matching is not available on these products. Dramatic changes in appearance of ink color will occur on aluminum. Colors are translucent and will show texture of aluminum, black ink is solid and recommended for type and personalization.

Color Matching • Thermal PrintingThermal printing uses foil ribbon and pressure to apply imprint to the PVC card. Color matching is not available on these products. Dra-matic changes in appearance of imprint color will occur on gold cards. Black ink is recommended for type and personalization.

FontsFonts should be converted to outlines, paths or curves. This eliminates the need to include fonts. Choose from Adobe Font Folio and we will provide font for your files.

Outlines for shaped productsOutlines should only be sent in vector format. We highly recommend keeping the shape simple, without sharp corners. Shape templates are available on our website.

File TypesWe accept both vector and bitmap files. Vector files should be saved in AI, EPS or PDF formats. Text should be outlined for best results. Bitmap files should be minimum 300 dpi at 100% of product size. Shipping & General Ordering InformationProduction Time & Rush ServiceNormal production time is 5 working days on most products. Produc-tion time is started after receipt of order, approved artwork, approved proof, approved credit and order details are clear. Rush service is available only with prior approval of customer service. Production times are in working days (Monday-Friday excluding major holidays). Changes made to an order in process could result in a later ship date. Proofs may also lengthen production time. Shipping time should be added to our production time. Air shipment charges will be added to any rush charges.

Repeat OrdersRepeat orders should include our original invoice number and date to ensure exact duplication. Artwork is kept for 2 years, after that time it will be necessary to provide new artwork and new setup charges will apply. PMS match charges will occur with reorders.

ShippingUnless specified, order will be shipped by UPS ground, FedEx Express Saver® service or First Class Mail. Expedited services are available when authorized by the customer. A handling charge of $2.50x per package will apply to orders. Release programs are not subject to handling charge.

Less Than Minimum ChargeIf ordering less than the minimum catalog quantity, a less than mini-mum charge will apply to the order.

PricingPrices are subject to change without prior notification.

Product GuaranteeWe warrant our products against defects in materials and workman-ship for a period of 90 days from the date of the invoice. During the warranty period, a product determined by us to be defective will be re-paired, refunded, or replaced, at our option, at no charge. This warran-ty does not apply if the product has been damaged by accident, abuse, misuse, transportation, or as a result of a service or modification other than by us. This warranty is in lieu of any other warranty expressed or implied. We cannot be liable for incidental or consequential damages, such as lost revenue, arising from the purchase of our products.
