    1. CFL-Wide Trends – Through Week #4:

 Historic Home vs Away Results – 1946 to 2016: This season has seen visiting clubs dominate like no other year in Canadian Football history. Looking back over the 70 years to the 1946 season, no other year has seen home teams win so few times across the first 16 games of any season. In CFL Week #4, ALL four road clubs won – the first road sweep since Week #6 in 2014.

 Bye Week Records Study – 2002 to 2016: Here is an analysis of each club’s record coming off a bye since 2002 (based on the

last CFL season where there were ZERO bye weeks being in 2001). That was a CFL with 8 teams and 18 even weeks of 4 games. Ottawa re-joined the CFL in 2002 re-initiating the “bye week” pattern that was a normal part of the CFL schedule prior to 1987.

    - Bye week game totals vary due to the different patterns that CFL schedules have shown since 2002 including multiple 5-game weeks, consecutive weeks with 4 clubs off, 3 byes in a season or … a club’s bye being in the final week of a year with no next game.

    - The results of this study show that teams coming off a bye have won 55% of the time compared to 45% being won by their opponent. Calgary, BC and Edmonton have taken the most advantage, while Winnipeg and Ottawa have not.

    - The most successful clubs who have played AGAINST teams coming off a bye are Calgary with 16 wins and Toronto with 13. Winnipeg has played against a club coming off a bye more than any other team with 25 such games since 2002.
