Setting Sbufirv syteeds and AyertwesThe correct sei t ings for exposure. t ime ond l .ens.oper lure-con be est imoted byexper ience, or - preferobly - defermined wi fh fhe oid of o photo-electr ic ex-posure meter. When you toke o reoding, the meter indicofes o ser ies ofoperture-speed combinot ions for correct exposure under ihe prevoi l ingl ight condi t ions where you intend to toke the pic iure. From sucho ser ies you then choose most sui toble operture-speed combinot ion for yoursubiect , ond set the contro ls of the VITO BR occordingly

Choose therefore o combinot ion wi th o fost shut ter speed for moving subiects(e. g. chi ldren ot p loy, sports shots) ; for scenes requir ing greot depth of f ie ld(such os londscope v iews) set o combinot ion using o smol l operture. For fur therdefoi ls see the sect ion on opertures ond depth of f ie ld on poge 23.
