Greetings, Roo Family!

It is with great pleasure that we share with you our 2016-17 UMKC Fall/Winter Sports Ticket Guide. Enclosed within, you will find the ticketing information for Volleyball, Men’s and Women’s Soccer, and Men’s and Women’s Basketball.

The efforts by our student athletes to WIN in the classroom, WIN in competition, WIN in the community and WIN in life greatly contribute to the overall success of UMKC Athletics. Our 240-plus athletes currently boast a 3.31 cumulative GPA and a graduation success rate of 87 percent while also managing to garner Athlete of the Week/Year honors, NCAA All-America status, and regular season and post-season championship titles. In addition to more than 1,300 community service hours logged, we had the honor of celebrating 49 student-athletes who were conferred for degrees during the ’15-’16 academic year.

The Men’s and Women’s Soccer teams will face the likes of Creighton, Drake and Missouri State in nonconference action, while volleyball will face Drake, Ball State, Oral Roberts and Cornell, and host the Kangaroo Klassic. For postseason conference competition, we will host the WAC Women’s Soccer Championships, Nov. 3, 4 and 6, where the Roos will be a strong contender to be the first UMKC team to win a postseason championship in front of a home crowd.

In the winter, returning all but one player, the Women’s Basketball team, after beating Big 12 Kansas for the first time since 2002 this past year, looks to use their experience to outwork their opponents in the upcoming season. Two home tournaments in November and December — the Plaza Lights Classic and the Roo Holiday Classic — will offer spirited entertainment during the holidays.

Men’s Basketball, after two consecutive years of beating opponents from the Missouri Valley Conference (Indiana State and Drake) and SEC (Mizzou and Mississippi State), will once again grind it out on the court with an electrifying but tough nonconference schedule, which includes two teams from the Big 12 —Kansas and West Virginia.

We look forward to a promising year for all our sports as we participate at the highest level of competition that the NCAA allows. Our 16 teams provide an exciting and affordable entertainment option for Kansas City, and we have great confidence that you will join us in our journey to “cheer blue and bring home the gold” as we embark upon this new season of athletics competition.

ABOVE-AND-BEYOND GIVINGANNUAL MEMBERSHIPAn unrestricted annual gift to the Roo Club Athletic Fund benefits the most student-athletes. Support 250-plus student-athletes by giving above-and-beyond required seat donations. Cash, credit card, stock and securities transfers are all accepted.

MATCHING GIFTSMany corporations offer the opportunity to match donations made to nonprofit organizations. Matching gifts directed to UMKC Intercollegiate Athletics will help raise necessary funds needed to promote student-athlete success. Please check with your human resources office to determine if your organization offers this benefit.

RESTRICTED DONATIONSDonations restricted to specific teams, endowments and capital facility projects are necessary to attract and retain Division I level talent. Contact the Roo Club for information about giving to these causes. Please keep in mind that these donations will receive 100 percent tax deductibility (unless noted). Always consult your tax advisor.

GIFT-IN-KINDIn-kind giving is an important way to provide support. Approved budget-relieving goods and services may be provided in exchange for Roo Club membership credit. Please contact the Roo Club with questions regarding the gift-in-kind program.

TICKET EXCHANGE AND REDEMPTIONSAll UMKC Men’s Basketball season ticket holders can exchange their season tickets for tickets to future games. Additionally, all unused tickets can be redeemed for the same amount of tickets to a specified home event of the same season. Seating locations will be based upon availability; all ticket exchanges and redemptions must be submitted in advance.

EARLY BIRD INCENTIVENew season ticket holders purchasing for any sport by Aug. 1, will automatically be entered into monthly prize drawings and have all account fees waived. Drawings will be held on the first Tuesday of each month beginning in July and ending with October.

EXTENDED PAYMENT PLAN OPTIONSPurchase early and take advantage of our payment plans up to five months long!

Monthly payment plans will be equal installments based upon initial purchase date, with the final payment ending in October.

PAY-IN-FULL INCENTIVEAll accounts that pay in full at time of purchase will automatically receive four (4) complimentary tickets for a UMKC Athletics event of choice. Excludes postseason play.
