Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am

the light of the world; he who follows

me will not walk in darkness, but

will have the light of life.”

In-Depth StudyTogether, we will cover the Bible in its entirety. First-year students trace the Biblical story through the historical books of the Old Testament. Whether these stories are familiar or new to you, your participation in this class will bring Scripture to life like never before. You will both increase your knowledge of your Catholic faith and add a deeper dimension to your life that brings you closer to God. The school year consists of 28 weeks of classes, spanning September to May. In addition, CBSM offers a winter retreat to its students to deepen the application of their studies to their journey with God.

Inspired InstructorsThe Catholic Biblical School has assembled a first-rate team of experienced instructors – all who have at least a Master’s Degree – with a deep love for the Catholic faith. Through lectures, small group discussions and weekly coursework, they will guide you through the Bible and help you to discover God’s story, so in turn, you can discover your own.

Accredited ProgramThis solid and authenti-cally Catholic Scripture study is available for academic credit through Sacred Heart Major Seminary. To learn more about how to take this as a distance-learning class, call (313) 274-4500.

This fall, the Catholic Biblical School of Michigan (CBSM) continues with this exciting program to study Scripture at six locations in the Archdiocese of Detroit and Dioceses of Lansing, Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids. CBSM was founded to educate the minds and fill the hearts of Catholics as they embrace the Scriptures through an in-depth study of God’s Word. From Genesis through Revelation, classes over a four-year period draw from contemporary Biblical scholarship and Catholic tradition, while focusing on the needs and interests of all Catholics. Archbishop Allen Vigneron supports this important endeavor.

T oday, when few

things remain certain

in which to place our

trust, one thing stands

firm – the Word of God.

Through the Scriptures,

the Father who is in

Heaven meets us with

great love, invites us to

get to know Him, and

gives us hope for the

future. He is constant.

He is reliable. And

He wants to be our

light in the darkness.
