1. BRING YOUR AUCTION BROCHURE TO THE AUCTION. YOU’LL NEED IT TO FIND ITEMS AND LIST PURCHASES.

2. Unsold items will be offered for sale Sunday, May 17 after the service.

3. In order to bid on any item, you must get a bidder number/paddle at a registration table—only one per family. We prefer payment by check. If you prefer to pay by credit card, it will be scanned at check out.

4. You must complete one List of Purchases (the Purchase Sheet is on the last page of this brochure.) If you do not have one, extra purchase sheets are available at the registration tables.

5. Minimum bidding increments are listed on the bidding sheets. Of course, higher increments are always welcomed.

6. There will be multiple bidding sheets for items with more than one available, for example “Three King Adventures” will have 3 bidding sheets.

7. Some of the items have specific conditions, such as time limit, availabil-ity, exclusions, etc. The buyer is responsible for determining these from the material provided or from the donor. Tax, tip and gratuity are not included unless otherwise stated.

8. All sales are final, and no exchanges or refunds are possible, unless the minimum number of persons are not signed up and the event is can-celled.

9. As you enter your bids on the bidding sheets, it’s essential that you en-ter your name and paddle number each time you revise your bid. PLEASE PRINT CLEARLY. Keep track of the highest prices you bid in your brochure lists. Updating your brochure lists in pencil is rec-ommended (pencils available at check-in).

10. When you’re through bidding, double check that your Purchase List in your brochure is complete. Include items you’ve won at the Live Auc-tion. Your list will be your receipt; the cashier will make a copy for UUFSD. You do not have to tear the sheet out of your brochure.

Best Exotic Auction Rules

Page 8: 2015SpringFundraising BestE xotic The UUA uction

2015 Spring Fundraising 8

11. When the Silent Auction ends at 6:50, you'll be asked to enter the Best Exotic UU Live Auction. If you have reserved a front-row table, you will be escorted to the best seats in the house. Otherwise, get an-other glass of wine and find a seat.

12. Table Monitors will gather the bid sheets and enter the Silent Auction winners on a grid on a whiteboard in the Core Area, matching item number with the winner’s paddle number. The completion of this process will be announced. You are then free at any time to check the white board in the Core Area for your Silent Auction winning num-bers.

13. Cashiers will be in the library. Please do not line up to checkout until your list is completely filled out. The Table Monitors will have deliv-ered the bid sheets to the cashiers so that the amounts of the winning bids can be verified. There’s no need to tear purchase list from booklet.

14. Preferred payment method is cash or check (made out to UUFSD). Visa or Master Card payments are also accepted. Your list (receipt) will be signed by the cashier, indicating that you’ve paid in full.

15. After you've paid, your list must be copied before you leave.

16. Certificates and tickets will be held at check-out and given to you after payment is received. Remember to enter event dates on your calen-dar!

17. Many of the brochure photographs are generic representations of the auction items and not pictures of the actual item or event.

18. It is the Auction Committee’s intention to describe accurately all items with the information provided by the auction’s generous contributors. We did not appraise nor do we guarantee the fair retail market value. We have made a good faith effort to furnish accurate information. In deter-mining the tax deductibility of items purchased at the charitable auction, Internal Revenue ruling 67-246 and subsequent rulings remind purchas-ers that no deduction is allowable except to the extent that the taxpayer can show that his or her payment exceeded the retail market value of the item or service received.

Remember to take pictures of your event for next year’s

Auction brochure!

IF YOU CAN’T ATTEND, YOU CAN BID BY EMAIL

HERE’S HOW Check the Auction Brochure for the items you want. Make a list with the item number/title and the amount you are willing to pay. Send your list to Lisa Shaffer at [email protected]

ALL EMAIL BIDS MUST BE IN BY MIDNIGHT, FRIDAY, MAY 15th.

A member of the Auction Committee will place your bids for you on May 16. Or you can ask a friend to place competitive bids for you.

Next year’s auction – be thinking about merchants you patronize that might be willing to offer a gift certificate for the auction.

Special fundraisers – support luncheons, concerts, classes, and other events throughout the year. Bring your friends.
