    BY :M. U MA SANK ARNa t io n a l I IT Co -Or d i n at o r

JEE (Advanced) – 2015 Question Paper Analysis:

JEE (advanced) – 2015 had two Papers, Paper-1 and Paper-2, each containing three parts, Physics, Chemistry and

Mathematics. Each part in each paper had 20 questions each.

In Paper-1, each part had three sections, first being 8 Integer Type for 4 marks each without negative mark

,second section contains 10 More than one answer type for 4 marks each and ‘-2’ for wrong answers . Section three

consists of 2 Matrix Matching question in which each column contains 4 options for each individual option 2 marks

are awarded and ‘-1’ mark for wrong option(Matching). For each subject the question paper is set for a total of 88

marks. And for all subjects together a grand total of 264 marks.

In Paper-1 , In physics 4 to 5 questions are tough. Questions from OPTICS,ELECRTICITY and SHM are good

and lengthy. In chemistry there are 5 to 6 difficult questions. Paper is good . Only real worthy students do it well.

Relatively Maths paper is difficult(lengthy) which fetches AP and TS students only. Attempting all the questions take

time and those who are trying them, must loose marks. But it is very difficult for a common student for attempting

all the questions in the given time.

In Paper-2, each part had three sections: first being 8 Integer Type for 4 marks each without negative mark

. Section-2  was MCQ with one or more than one correct  option (Eight questions) each carries 4  marks and for

wrongly attempted question ‘-2’ marks will be awarded; Section-3 was Comprehension type(two questions) with

one and more than one correct option (4 questions) and for wrongly attempted question ‘-2’ marks will be awarded.

For each subject the question paper is set for a total of 80 marks. And for all subjects together a grand total of 240

marks. Finally jee-Advanced-2015 was conducted for 504 marks .In 2014 it was conducted for 360 marks.

Again Paper-2 In Physics all questions are good and prepared testing the conceptual clarity of the students.

Due to negative marking students may face the difficulty. All the questions are framed within the syllabus. In

chemistry all the questions are concept testing , students with through knowledge only can answer. Most of them

are multi conceptual especially in physical chemistry.. Paper is good only real worthy students do it well. Relatively

Maths paper is difficult(lengthy) which fetches AP and TS students only. Attempting all the questions take time and

those who are trying , must loose marks. But it is very difficult for a common student for attempting all the questions

    in the given time.

After long time IIT PAPER SETTERS have done a nice job.

    Sal i ent Poin t s

    1. The percentage of candidates registered form the number eligible based on JEE (Main)

score has remained more or less same in 2015 compared to 2014.

    2. An increase in the percentage of candidates appearing in 2015 is observed (from the total

registered) in 2015 (94%) compared to 2014 (94.15%). The decrease is consistently observed in all

    zones.

    3. The year 2014 also witnesses the dominance of CBSE in the competition scenario and like previous

years, CBSE, AP Board, CSCE, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Rajasthan Boards have the major share of

students contributing to the IIT system. Amongst the states, AP, Delhi, Rajasthan, Bihar and UP take

the lead in the number of qualified candidates. This time from AP and TELANGA state students may

    dominate in ADVANCED-2015 .

    4.  In jee-Advanced-2014 Vijayawada, Hyderabad, Visakhaptanam, Jaipur, Delhi (taken together),

Patna, Mumbai, Pune, Sikar, Bhopal, Lucknow, Kanpur and Chennai have 14946 out of the 27152

    qualified candidates .

    5.  In 2014 jee advanced AP students are more in number qualified in ADVANCED. Like this in this year

both TELUGU STATES (AP and TS) will repeat in this year also.
