Horizon 2020

Horizon 2020 es el nombre del nuevo Programa Marco Europeo para la

Investigación y la Innovación durante el período 2014-2020.

El motor del EIT:

Knowledge & Innovation Communities (KICs)

• Asociaciones altamente integradas, creativas y que reúnen instituciones de

excelencia en los campos de educación, tecnología, investigación, negocio y

emprendimiento con el objetivo de producir innovaciones e inspirar otras.

• Consorcios público-privados en torno a una temática.

• Socios en diferentes regiones europeas (hasta 6 co-location centres).

• Compromiso a largo plazo (mínimo 7 años).

• Evolución de la subvención inicial del EIT (hasta 25%) a la autofinanciación.

• Cada KIC tiene personalidad jurídica propia, capacidad financiera y

autonomía de gestión para definir su composición, actividades y estructura.

• Asegurar la involucración de los miembros de la KIC a largo plazo.

• Incentivar el compromiso financiero de los miembros de la KIC.

• Fuentes de financiación no-EIT: regional/nacional, europea (no-EIT, ej: FP7, H2020, FEDER),

privada, recursos propios.

KICs existentes

• Se crearon 3 KICs en 2009: EIT ICT Labs, Climate-KIC y KIC InnoEnergy.

• Entidades legales variadas (2 asociaciones sin ánimo de lucro y 1 empresa).

• Tienen un CEO y un equipo profesional de gestión.

• Elaboran un plan de negocio anual (Business plan).

• Evaluadas por medio de indicadores (Key Performance Indicators, KPIs).

• Presupuesto negociado con el EIT año a año.
