Yellowstone National Park
POINTS OF INTERESTYellowstone National ParkIts a Wonderland. Old Faithful and the majority of the worlds geysers are preserved here. They are the main reason the park was established in 1872 as Americas fi rst national park an idea that spread worldwide. A mountain wild land, home to grizzly bears, wolves, and herds of bison and elk, the park is the core of one of the last, nearly intact, natural ecosystems in the Earths temperate zone. The park encompasses 2.2 million acres of scenic beauty. Three of Yellowstones fi ve entrances are in Montana: the North Entrance just south of Gardiner (Hwy. 89); the Northeast Entrance just south of Cooke City/Silver Gate (via the Beartooth Hwy.); and the West Entrance at West Yellow-stone. The South Entrance is through Grand Teton National Park, north of Jackson, WY and Cody, WY is the closest gateway community to the East Entrance. Please see the regional map in this brochure for more road and entrance information.Lodging Reservations: (866) 439-7375or 1-866-GEYSERLAND (439-7375)nps.gov/yell
