Presidents Messagefrom Carolyn Heifner
We Can Do It! I was with some friends from the Junior League of Racine and we all have new things going on in our lives. I said, my theme should be "new beginnings." September will be our f irst GMM and we are starting the league year with a great beginning. The active members have been working hard in their committees and have many great things planned. I am so excited to be a part of this league and know "We can do it!" Please invite your friends to the GMM and learn more about this wonderful organization.

Welcome back! The Community Research committee had its f irst successful meeting in August. Despite a lack of power, it was productive. We are well on our way planning for the Born Learning Trail being built at Knapp and getting the Special Aids Grant application updated on the website.
Look for a Survey Monkey survey to come out in September with questions to help guide us with the League's projects for this year. (Keep in mind it is our 100th, let's make a great one
( or two or three...)

Hey Ladies,
As we are starting our new year, please think of those special women in your life that would benefit from the wonder that is Junior League, as well as be of benefit to Junior League and our efforts.
We will be hosting numerous events throughout the year to bring potential members to, so please bring them to a GMM, one of our events, or just send me their contact information.
I am looking forward to an incredible year from the League and its members.

Welcome to our 99th year! Please email [email protected] if you have any status changes or need to change your contact information. If you edit your prof ile and change your email address, please let me know so I can change the record with AJLI. Forward the names and contact information or have them email me at the above address, and we'll do our best to f ind a solution. If you f ind you have not yet paid your dues for this year, which were bil led in May, please take care of this immediately. We want to celebrate with all of you!
The 100th Committee started in June with a meeting to put the wheels in motion for a FUN FILLED YEAR!
We have some great ideas and look forward to sharing those with you as plans take shape.
The Junior League of Milwaukee will be having a luncheon on Oct 2, 2015 to celebrate their 100 years.
I plan on attending this and if anyone else would like to please send me a email or call.
[email protected] or 262-939-5020
Just give you a bit of trivia, the President of Milwaukee League this year is Brenda Garbo.
Her Husband is Tony Garbo from Garbo Motors in Racine!
All the more reason to support the MJL.
100th Thoughts? ?
If you think in terms of a year, plant a seed; if in terms of ten years, plant trees; if in terms of 100 years, teach the people.

Nominating / PlacementLisa Freidrich
Hopefully everyone had a wonderful summer and is ready to get back to business. Our Nominating Placement Committee has hit the ground running. We have had our f irst meeting and have assigned members to their advisers for the 2015-2016 year. You should have been or will shortly be contacted by your adviser. If you have not and you are wondering who your adviser is, check out this l ist of members that have been assigned. For the Nominating Placement Committee, the beginning of the year means that it?s time to get to know our members, look ahead at who will be going to Organizational Development Institutes (ODI) this year, and plan for Leadership Conferences. Let your adviser know if you are interested in attending any of these amazing
AJLI training opportunities. ODI dates are:
* Jan 29-31 in Miami FL
* June 3-5 in Huston TX.
Volunteer Excellence We also start to ask membership for nominations. Is there a Junior Leaguer that has gone above and beyond this month? Someone who has been a help to you in a moment of confusion or stress? Someone who has been a mentor or has been a reliable colleague to collaborate on a project with? Send us a Volunteer Excellence Nomination - it?s as easy as an email to

Highlights from last year.... looking forward to the new fun that will be had this year!
We Can do it! The Fund Development team is making sure to put some muscle and elbow grease to get it done. We already have had two meetings, and are well into our planning for the year.
Our upcoming events definitely include impact and purpose. Some familiar events and some new. We are aiming to ensure nothing less than fantastic.
The team is looking forward to bringing back our Fashion Show; as well as ?Touch a Truck? and our familiar Barnes and Noble event. Our Gala event is sure to slip you a litt le taste of Whiskey and Bourbon.
We are looking forward to putting together these wonderful fun events, while ensuring that they not only create awareness about our organization, but hope that these events will also bring the needed funding to keep giving back to the community and keeping aligned with our mission.
More to come about our events. As always we will look to members old, new, provisional and sustainers to join us in our journey.

Physical photos can be dropped off for Julie at her home, 8946 Arbor Hill Drive or First Weber, 1100 N. Main St in an envelope Attn: Julie Lang. Photos will be scanned and returned. This week would be great, if possible, but the photos are needed regardless of when you are able to submit them. Thanks for your help!
