2015 RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS 109 Minutes of REGULAR Meeting April 01, 2015 The Twinsburg City School District Board of Education met in REGULAR session on the above date at the Twinsburg Government Center in Council Chambers, 10075 Ravenna Rd, Twinsburg, Ohio, at 7:00 p.m. The following Board Members were present: Mrs. Cain-Criswell, Mrs. Davis, Mr. Felber (Vice-President), Mrs. Turle-Waldron, and Mr. Stuver (President). Recordings of the Board of Education meeting are made and kept at the Board Office. Video recordings and Board approved Minutes are available on the District’s web site. Mr. Felber moved and Mrs. Davis seconded that the Twinsburg Board of Education adopt resolutions 15-141 to 15-142. 15-141 Minutes That the Twinsburg Board of Education approves the Minutes for the following meetings: Regular Meeting: March 18, 2015 15-142 Amounts and Rates That the Board of Education of Twinsburg City School District, Summit County, RESOLVES that the amounts and rates as determined by the Budget Commission, in its certification, be and the same are hereby accepted; and be it further RESOLVED that there be and is hereby levied on the tax duplicate of said School District the rate of each tax necessary to be levied within and without the ten mill limitation as per attached; and be it further resolved that the Treasurer of this Board be, and is hereby directed to certify a copy of this Resolution to the Fiscal Officer of said County. Minutes of REGULAR Meeting April 01, 2015

The Twinsburg City School District Board of Education met in REGULAR session on the above

date at the Twinsburg Government Center in Council Chambers, 10075 Ravenna Rd, Twinsburg,

Ohio, at 7:00 p.m. The following Board Members were present: Mrs. Cain-Criswell, Mrs. Davis,

Mr. Felber (Vice-President), Mrs. Turle-Waldron, and Mr. Stuver (President). Recordings of the

Board of Education meeting are made and kept at the Board Office. Video recordings and Board

approved Minutes are available on the District’s web site.

Mr. Felber moved and Mrs. Davis seconded that the Twinsburg Board of Education adopt

resolutions 15-141 to 15-142.

15-141 Minutes

That the Twinsburg Board of Education approves the Minutes for the following meetings:

Regular Meeting: March 18, 2015

15-142 Amounts and Rates

That the Board of Education of Twinsburg City School District, Summit County, RESOLVES that the amounts and rates as determined by the Budget Commission, in its certification, be and the same are hereby accepted; and be it further RESOLVED that there be and is hereby levied on the tax duplicate of said School District the rate of each tax necessary to be levied within and without the ten mill limitation as per attached; and be it further resolved that the Treasurer of this Board be, and is hereby directed to certify a copy of this Resolution to the Fiscal Officer of said County. See pages 117-120

The Board President declared the motions approved.

That the Twinsburg Board of Education adopts and purchases an online subscription to LJ

Create – A cloud-based exploring STEM K-12 License for the Pre-Engineering course

offered at R.B. Chamberlin Middle School. The proposal is for $4,500. The adoption was

approved by the District Curriculum/Technology Committee on March 30, 2015. This is

General Fund expenditure.

15-150 Social Studies

That the Twinsburg Board of Education adopts and purchases Ohio State History

consumable (c.2013 ISBN 9780328738052) for Fourth Grade Social Studies at George G.

Dodge Intermediate School. The proposal is for $27,413.28 for the editions for six years.

The adoption was approved by the District Curriculum/Technology Committee on March

30, 2015. This expenditure is encompassed by the collection of student fees.

15-151 Reading Plus

That the Twinsburg Board of Education adopts and purchases Reading Plus (online

learning subscription) for 7th & 8th grade. The proposal is for $6,000. The adoption was

approved by the District Curriculum/Technology Committee on March 30, 2015.

15-152 Summer Reading

That the Twinsburg Board of Education adopts the Summer Reading Requirements for the

summer of 2015. The adoption was approved at the Curriculum/Technology meeting held

March 30, 2015.

15-153 Vocal Music

That the Twinsburg Board of Education accepts a donation of an enclosed 2015 RC cargo

trailer valued at $12,087 from the Twinsburg Vocal Music Boosters. Vehicle Serial No:

56VBE302XFM618552 – enclosed cargo trailer, 30’ long, 8.5’ wide, silver mist color.

15-154 Lease Buses to City

That the Twinsburg Board of Education approves the City of Twinsburg/Parks and

Recreation Department to utilize yellow school buses for Spring Break Camp (April 6-10,

2015). The City of Twinsburg will compensate the Twinsburg Board of Education for use

of the buses including mileage and gas. TCSD bus drivers must be used and compensated

by the City of Twinsburg.

15-155 Diesel Fuel Purchase Agreement

That the Twinsburg Board of Education approves the HPCD Purchase Agreement with

EcoChem Alternative Fuels LLC, 565 Metro Place, Suite 3035, Dublin, Ohio, per the

terms and conditions set forth in the Agreement. The agreement will convert commercial

grade diesel into a more efficient, low-emission diesel fuel known as High Performance

Clean Diesel, thus creating a lower carbon footprint and is guaranteed to improve the

transportation fleet’s miles per gallon performance by at least 10%.

15-156 Textbooks AP Euro History

That the Twinsburg Board of Education adopts The Western Heritage Since 1300 11th ed

AP Ed Revised Edition textbook. (c. 2016 ISBN 9780134050225 ) for the AP European

History course offered at Twinsburg High School. Single copy cost is $115.47. Purchase of

textbooks will be made during the summer after the Master course schedule has been set.

The adoption was approved by the District Curriculum/Technology Committee on March

30, 2015; This is a Permanent Improvement expenditure.

15-157 Textbooks AP Human Geography

That the Twinsburg Board of Education adopts The Cultural Landscape: An Introduction

to Human Geography textbook. (c. 2013 ISBN 9780132926584) for the AP Human

Geography course offered at Twinsburg High School. Single copy cost is $138.47.

Purchase of textbooks will be made during the summer after the Master course schedule

has been set. The adoption was approved by the District Curriculum/Technology

Committee on March 30, 2015; this is a Permanent Improvement expenditure.

15-158 Textbooks AP Human Geography

That the Twinsburg Board of Education adopts and purchases Human Geography textbook

to be used as a class reference set. (c. 2013 ISBN 9780076656783) for the AP Human

Geography course offered at Twinsburg High School. The proposal is for $3,048.16. The

adoption was approved at the Curriculum/Technology Meeting held March 30, 2015. This

is Permanent Improvement expenditure.

15-159 Textbooks AP Art History

That the Twinsburg Board of Education approves adopts Art History 5th ed. textbook.

(c.2014 ISBN 9780205873470) for the AP Art History course offered at Twinsburg High

School. Single copy cost is $138.97. Purchase of textbooks will be made during the

summer after the Master course schedule has been set. The adoption was approved by the

District Curriculum/Technology Committee on March 30, 2015; this is a Permanent

Improvement expenditure.

15-160 Textbooks Social Studies

That the Twinsburg Board of Education approves Education adopts and purchases My

World Geography – Western Hemisphere textbook. (c.2013 ISBN 9781256960324) for

Fifth Grade Social Studies George G. Dodge Intermediate School. The proposal is for

$27,603.78. The adoption was approved by the District Curriculum/Technology

Committee on March 30, 2015. This is Permanent Improvement expenditure.

15-161 Textbooks Social Studies

That the Twinsburg Board of Education approves adopts and purchases My World Social

Studies – Eastern Hemisphere textbook. (c.2013 ISBN 9781269322232) for Sixth Grade

Social Studies at George G. Dodge Intermediate School. The proposal is for $29,473.79.

15-162 Network Upgrades

That the Twinsburg Board of Education approves a Purchase Agreement for Twinsburg

Network Upgrades, including the District Core Switch, with CDW Government LLC, 230

N. Milwaukee Ave., Vernon Hills, IL, per the terms and conditions set forth in the

Agreement, this is a general Permanent Improvement expenditure..

15-163 Sale of Trailer

That the Twinsburg Board of Education authorizes the Director of Business Services to sell

a trailer used by the Vocal Music Department that has been determined to be no longer

needed for school purposes since the Vocal Music Boosters purchased a new trailer. The

trailer will be posted on an online auction site, Bus Movers and More LLC, 330 E. 257th

Street, Euclid, OH, 44132. The net proceeds of this sale will be returned to the Permanent

Improvement Fund.

15-164 Change Order

That the Twinsburg Board of Education approves a change order from Lauren Building

Company, LLC, 84 N. Main Street, Suite B, Chagrin Falls, Ohio 44022 for the purpose of

new computer labs at Dodge Intermediate School and Twinsburg High School for a credit

of $595.00. Change Order 12 compensates the District for owner-provided key cylinder

cores. This credit will be reimbursed to the Permanent Improvement fund.

15-165 EXECUTIVE SESSION

Mr. Stuver moved and Mr. Felber seconded that the Twinsburg Board of Education meet

in Executive Session at 8:46 p.m. to consider the employment and compensation of public employees per Board of Education Policy #0166 (A).

Ayes: Mrs. Cain-Criswell, Mrs. Davis, Mr. Felber, Mr. Stuver, and Mrs. Turle-Waldron.

The Board of Education of the Twinsburg City School District Summit

County, Ohio, met in REGULAR session on the 01 day of April , 2015,

at the Twinsburg Government Center in Council Chambers at 7:00 p.m with the following

members present:

Mr. Felber moved the adoption of the following Resolution:

WHEREAS, This Fiscal Officer of the Board of Education has provided the Alternative Tax Budget, for the next succeeding fiscal year commencing July 1st, 2015; and

WHEREAS, The Budget Commission of Summit County, Ohio, has

certified its action together with an estimate by the County Fiscal Officer

of the rate of each tax necessary to be levied by this Board, and what part thereof is without,

and what part within the ten mill tax limitation; therefore be it

RESOLVED, By the Board of Education of the Twinsburg City School District, Summit County, Ohio, that the amounts and rates as determined by the Budget Commission

in its certification, be and the same are hereby accepted; and be it further

RESOLVED, That there be and is hereby levied on the tax duplicate of said School District the rate of each tax necessary to be levied within and without the ten mill limitation as follows:
