In Time for the Holidays

Our favorite time of the year is upon us, the time where we give thanks for our many blessings and look to new beginnings.

Our replacement pens are full of a strong set of heifers awaiting your selection. These foundation females carry more than

40 years of breeding and selection. Most are homozygous black and homozygous polled. While you’re at the ranch, take a

look at the bull-mates to these heifers. They are available on a first-come, first-served basis and come with the same stringent

genetic selection pressure. They will make great additions to your herd, whether you need one or a trailer full.

We wish our Limousin family and customers the joy of the holiday season. May you be blessed with health and prosperity.

LIMOUSIN NEWS & NOTES

Fellow Members & Friends,

It’s hard to believe another year is coming to a close, the fall show and sale season is wrapping up, and the New Year is right around the corner. As we look forward to the New Year plans are already underway for the TLA’s Cowtown Classic Limousin Sale, membership meeting and banquet.

Recent sales prove the demand for Limousin genetics remain high. Interest in the Cowtown Classic sale has already begun as we have received inquiries regarding consigning donor-quality females and herd-sire prospects. The sale will once again be held in state-of-the-art sale facility in the Bass-Richardson building located on the grounds of the Fort Worth Stock Show.

Speaking of the Fort Worth Stock Show, it continues to make improvements to the facilities in their quest to create a positive experience for visitors and exhibitors alike. The junior Limousin heifer show will once again feature the TLA’s Lone Star Shoot-Out where junior exhibitors will compete for a share of the $10,000 purse. The Level I Medal of Excellence Open Show will feature the best the breed has to offer from progressive programs across the country. Make note of the time change, the show will now begin at noon, Saturday, January 30, 2016.

Due to the change in start time of the show, the start time for the TLA membership meeting will be 5:00 pm. The banquet and benefit auction will follow at 7:00 pm. All activities will be held at the Radisson Fossil Creek. A room-block has been established for TLA members.

As we enter the holiday season I hope everyone will spend time with friends and family. May you all have a happy Thanksgiving and a Merry Christmas.

Sincerely, RalphRalph Hawkins

graduating seniors of the Texas Junior Limousin Association. TLA is fortunate its members graciously donate towards the advancement of its youth.

TLA has received donations in the memory of Payton Scott and Floyd McGown, which allowed us to award a third scholarship this past year. The TLA for several years has awarded graduating seniors scholarships in memory of E.J. Bishop and Gene Rogers, and more recently in memory of a TJLA member Matt Ertl (this is funded by Rusty and Marcy Perrin).

If you would like to donate to a scholarship, please contact Ralph Hawkins at (940) 367-4633.TL
