May the Lord continue to bless him and his family, producing spiritual fruits in his ministry. The Church Monthly Meeting will be held on May 24 th after Cantonese worship service. The motion is to hire Brother Tony Fu as the Mandarin Pastor to mainly serve Mississauga church in Christian Education, evangelism, and assist Oakville ministry. Brother Tony Fu has gone through an interview with the Pastoral Searching Committee and it was decided, in the Council Meeting that he is a proper choice to pastor the Mandarin Congregation. Education: Master of Divinity-Canadian Chinese School of Theology at Tyndale Seminary (2012.9-2015.4) Engineering in Information Technology - Si Chuan University, China (1983.9- 1987.7) Intern experience: LBCM; Brampton Chinese Baptist Church and World Chinese Evangelical Ministry Contact Center -- Canada Joint Area. As for the hiring of the Mandarin Pastor, any resolution adopting this recommendation, in order to be passed, will require the approval of at least 2/3 (66.67%) of members present and 80% of voting. 2. “The Ten Steps of Biblical Interpretation” (Cantonese & Mandarin): There will be the 6th re-union exercise on Monday, June 8th at 7:30pm. Brother Tony Fu will share with us on how to apply this application on Genesis 18:22-33. Rev. Johann Lai will be here in person to share his conclusion. We encourage all brothers & sisters to pre-study by using at least three different types of Bible translation, and write down some preliminary observations, according to its basic label. We encourage brothers and sisters to attend.

Community News

1. Nepal Earthquake Relief: On April 25th, Nepal was struck by a 7.8-magnitude of earthquake and the death toll could rise to more than 10,000 and they are in need of financial relief. It has caused widespread devastation and resulted in immediate humanitarian needs for people in the region. The Canadian Federal Government will have the dollar-to-dollar match on each individual donation; between the periods of April 25th-May 25th, through a relevant charity organization. For those who wish to offer financial support, please submit the donation in an offering envelope, mark down under ‘Others’ address to “Nepal Earthquake Relief”. The church will collect donations before next Sunday and send it to a relevant charity organization. For inquires and details, please contact Brother Tony Ng.

2. The Basketball Outreach Ministry is held today from 2:30-5:30pm. We encourage brothers and sisters to invite their non-believer friends and family to join.

3. Scouts Program will be held this Tuesday, from 7:30-9pm. We encourage brothers and sisters to invite families with children to join.

4. The New Yang Tai Chi class is cancelled this Thursday.

5. Praise Dance class will be held this Saturday at 10:30am. All are welcome to join. For details and registration, please contact Sister Vivian Lau.

6. The Yee Hong Centre will have two worship services for seniors on Saturday, May 23rd, at 9:45am and 10:30am. These worship services will be led by Mandarin congregation. We welcome your participation. Please contact Brother Tony Fu for details.

Oakville News: Oakville Mandarin Worship Service is held today at 3:00pm at Iroquois Ridge Community Centre (1051 Glenashton Drive, Oakville). The

speaker is Sister Rhonda Liang. The topic is “Come and See (5)-He Observes

Filial piety”. Sunday school starts at 4:45-5:30pm. Sunday School is cancelled

next Sunday. We encourage brothers and sisters to invite their non-believer friends to join. Please pray for this ministry.

Oakville Children Ministry needs volunteers to provide child care from 4:15 to 5:30pm. Sunday School is cancelled next Sunday. Please contact Sister Marianne Ho

Other Church News: CCSTTS Event: The Canadian Chinese School of Theology (CCSTTS) will be holding a course on the Studies on Heresies. It will be held on Saturdays: June 13th, 20th, and 27th from 1-5pm at our church (Cantonese language, English Mandarin translation). The speaker is Rev. Dr. Peter Chan. The fee is $100+HST (certificate included); $80+HST (audit), $50+HST (Tyndale or CCSTTS students/couples). Please sign up at the ushers table with Brother Fred Vu after worship today.
