Bellevue Parks &Community Services
The Master Gardeners in cooperation with Bellevue Parks & Community Services manage the Lake Hills Greenbelt Urban Demonstration Garden. Along with being a complete Master Gardener clinic, the garden also demonstrates ornamentals, vegetables, fruits, and various techniques for plant support, terracing, trellises, and composting. Master Gardeners offer free consultation, workshops, and special events at the Urban Demonstration Garden.
Master Gardeners are trained by Washington State University (WSU) to provide horticultural information to the people of Washington State. Master Gardeners are authorized to provide information tested and approved by WSU Experimental Stations.
Visiting the Demonstration GardenThe Urban Demonstration Garden is a complete hands-on, how-to garden to help you learn. Demonstrations include:
Meditation Court Vegetables
Perennials Shade, Drought, Children’s, and Herb Gardens
Espaliered fruit trees “All-American” award-winning annuals
Roses & Lillies Combining flowers & vegetables
48 Dahlia varieties Composting
Cucumbers Vertical Garden
Grasses
Free Drop-In ClinicsApril – October: Wednesdays & Saturdays, 9am – 1pm Consult with Master Gardeners about all aspects of gardening.
Special Events Sat 4/25, 9:30am-1:00pm Tomato and Vegetable Plant SaleIn the garden shelter. Shop before or after the workshop on Northwest Tomatoes. Excellent selection of varieties to help you get a jump start on your summer garden.
Sat 9/12, 10:00am-12:00pm Harvest Festival, Children’s Fair and Plant Sale After a great growing season, come join us for tomato and vegetable tasting and harvest-related demonstrations.
