Ulises ArmendarizMaria and Jose Armendariz

welcomed Ulises into the worldJuly 31, 1996 in Mexico City. Hisplans for next year are to attend college and, beyond that, to find agood job, and eventually start afamily. Throughout his time in highschool, Ulises was quite active insports, citing that being able to playsports was the greatest impact onhis life. He learned life is not always going to be easy, but thatdoesn’t mean a person should giveup. He remembers all the sporting

events and activities he was involvedwith and seeing his friends, especially his best friend Manuel Mendez, everyday, as well as his favorite teacher Nick Rodriguez.

Like any other person, Ulises has his favorites such as rap, hip hop and Spanish music, alongwith his favorite song “Bedrock”. The book that he calls his favorite is “A Child Called It”, butalso enjoys the movie “Instructions Not Included”. When asked whom he admired the most, Ulisessaid “My parents for all of the sacrifices they have had to make to get me to where I’m at. Also,because they are my biggest fans.”

Estefani ArmendarizAugust 1, 1996 in Mexico City, Rosa and Julio

Armendariz welcomed their daughter, EstefaniGuadalupe Armendariz, into the world. They remainthe people whom Estefani admires the most becausethey are always there for her and she “just loves them”.Of course she will be sad to leave her parents and herniece whom she loves spending time with as she attendscollege next year. In the future, she hopes to graduatefrom college with a degree in Counseling Psychology,and return to help her parents. As she moves into thereal world, Estefani would most like to visit the beautiful Bora Bora in the French Polynesia based onthe pictures she has seen.

Throughout her life, Estefani developed manyfavorites including her favorite book “The Fault in OurStars” by John Green, the movie “Temptation: Confes-sions of a Marriage Counselor”, and her favorite musicis “anything but country”. In high school, her favoriteteachers were Coach O, Coach Rod, and Mrs. Rawl-

ings. The event that had the greatest impact in her life waswinning Sub-State in basketball because of the hard work put into working toward that. As hertime at Hugoton High School comes to an end, Estefani would “not change anything [about hertime here], because every step of the way was a lesson, and it made me the person I am today.”

Michael BaezaJanuary 17, 1997, Michael Gabriel Baeza was

born to Carrie and Gabriel in Colorado Springs.Next year, Michael plans to attend McPherson Col-lege to earn his degree in physical therapy. Beyondthat, he would like to visit Italy because he alwayswanted to go there. When he isn’t playing his favorite sports - football and baseball - Michaellikes to listen to country music, and in particular,his favorite song “That’s My Kind of Night” byLuke Bryan. When music becomes boring, he likesto watch “Frozen” or read his favorite book, “Allegiant” by Veronica Roth. Kimberly Cabezas Kimberly Cabezas was born December 5 in

Liberal. Her parents are Arturo and RosemarieCabezas. Kimberly’s plans for next year are to attendSeward County Community College. Her plans forthe future include becoming a psychologist and even-tually starting a family. Kimberly's favorite book is“Looking For Alaska” by John Green. Her favoritesong is “Oceans” by Hillsong United and her favoritetype of music is “everything from hip-hop to country”. Kimberly’s favorite movie is “Act ofValor”. Her favorite teachers are Mrs. Fann and Mr.Hawley. A place she would like to visit is South Carolina because one of her good friends, Elizabeth,lives there. Kimberly's pastor and wife, Jorge andSara Tinoco, are the people she admires most because they’re so strong in their faith and they havesuch big and loving hearts. They always see the bestin everything and everyone and are just amazing people over all. Some memories Kimberly treasuresinclude the school years with her cousins Elizabethand Melissa and her brother Isai. Something shewished she did to change her career in high schoolwould be to get more involved throughout all fouryears. When asked “What event happened in highschool that had the greatest impact on your life?”Kimberly responded, “I can’t think of anything thathappened in high school that really made a great impact on my life. I live a simple life.”

Monica BustillosMonica Bustillos was born March 26, 1997 in Liberal. Her parents

are Ignacio and Lorena Bustillos. Monica’s plans for next year are toattend college to pursue her nursing degree and her future plans includebecoming a nurse anesthetist. Monica’s favorite book is “The LovelyBones” by Alice Sebold. Her favorite song is “Sure Be Cool If YouDid” by Blake Shelton and her favorite type of music is Country orSpanish. Monica’s favorite movie is “Matilda”. Her favorite teachersare Mrs. Fann and Miss Lacy. Monica would like to visit Europe because it seems like such a beautiful place. She admires her parentsbecause they work so hard for their children and never complain. Thefondest memories Monica has of high school are the conversations withMrs. Fann. She also remembers when Mr. Cornelsen would make funof her and give her a hard time during softball. When asked what shewould change about her high school career, Monica responded shewould like to have been more involved and not stress out. Some eventsthat happened in high school that had the greatest impact on her lifewere losing her 4.0 GPA and getting closer to her best friend, whichwould impact anyone.

Mariah ArchuletaMariah Archuleta was born in Liberal February

18, 1997 to Alex and Candee Archuleta. After shegraduates, Mariah plans to attend college, and sheis excited to start new chapters in her life. Thosechapters include earning her nursing degree, mar-rying a die-hard KU fan, and eventually living inthe mountains. One place she would like to visiteventually is Alaska because of the NorthernLights, and, of course, for the tax-free shopping.

Her favorite song is “She Will Be Loved” byMaroon 5, and her favorite movie is “The LastSong”. The people she admires the most are hergrandparents, Dennis and Kathy. They are an example of what unconditional love is, and they arealways there to help family and friends. Throughouther high school career, Mariah fondly remembersfriends, teachers - especially her favorite, Mrs.Rawlings, and the successes, as well as the hardships. If she could change any aspect of herhigh school career it would be to soak everythingin and truly enjoy the time she had with friends andclassmates.

Sayra ChavezSayra Edit Chavez was born September 12, 1996

in Liberal. Sayra’s parents are Silvino and TinaChavez. Her future plans are to attend SewardCounty Community College, get her CNA and become a medical assistant. One of her favoritebooks is “Thirteen Reasons Why” by Jay Asher. Herfavorite song is “Amazing Grace” by Chris Tomlinand her favorite type of music is “any kind as longas I can jam out to it”. One of her most favoritemovies is “Heaven is For Real”. Sayra’s favoriteteachers include Mrs. Gaskill, Mrs. Snyder, and Mr.and Mrs. Waters. She would enjoy visitingJerusalem because it’s a holy and peaceful destination, and she would also like to go to see theDead Sea. Her sister Adriana is someone Sayra really admires because she is someone she can trustand could talk to when necessary. Sayra doesn’t justconsider Adriana her sister, but also her best friend,and Sayra feels very blessed to have Adriana in herlife. One of the most memorable experiences inSayra’s high school years was when she and herweight class did the Harlem Shake with CoachSzymczak. . .and it was a complete fail! What Sayrawould like to change in her high school careerwould be to be more involved and take her classesmore seriously. Sayra said, “The greatest impactwas when all the teachers would motivate me to trymy hardest in my classes and remind me that thesenior year was just around the corner.”

Kristan CrawfordBorn to Mark and Keri Crawford, Kristan made her bright appearance in the world

starting in Wichita April 2, 1998. Kristan’s dreams extend beyond Kansas after sheattends Kansas State University and becomes a nutrition major. The place she wouldlike to visit is the remote and beautiful land of New Zealand. During her time inKansas, Kristan has developed some favorites. Her favorite music comes from the40s and 50s, so it is no surprise that her favorite movie is the oldie “Singing in theRain”. Keeping with the throwback theme, she enjoys listening to jazz-like compo-sitions of Josh Groban and Elvis Presley. Though she appreciates times gone by, herfavorite song “(Fight the) Demons” is by the London rock group, Dry the River.

Although she is graduating a year early, Kristan has some fond memories of hertime at HHS such as the time she broke a light with a frisbee. The only thing shewould like to change about her time in high school would be to take choir for onemore year. If she could give advice to people in lower grades, Kristan would remindthem, “. . .in order to pass tests, listening is key”. Finally, the person whom Kristanadmires the most is Walt Disney because he was an imaginative genius.

Odalys Castaneda Odalys Jacqueline Castaneda was born March 31,

1996 in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua. Her parents are Antonio Castaneda and Estela Camacho. Her plan fornext year is to have her own home with her family and tobe enrolled in nursing school. Odalys’ future plans are tobe employed in the medical field, and to live in Texas orColorado in a ranch home. Her favorite book is “Purge”by Sarah Darer Littman. Her favorite song is “Te Metiste”by Ariel Camacho and her favorite types of music areBanda, Corridos and Nortenas. Odalys’ favorite teachersare Coach Rod and Mrs. Fann. A place she would like tovisit is Dubai because it is luxurious. She admires her parents because “. . .They left their families to give us abetter future. They have always been there for me.”Odalys’s fondest memories are messing around with herfriends and classmates in school. She also remembers allthe events she attended and playing basketball. ThingsOdalys would like to change about her high school careerwould be playing sports all four years, studying harderand also taking things slow because she thought highschool zipped by. When asked the question, “What eventhappened in high school that had the greatest impact onyour life?” Odalys replied, “I learned a lot of life lessonsduring my four years; not to hurry and grow up becauseyou can never get those years back.”

Juan CruzJuan Luis Cruz was born June 3,

1996 in Celaya Guanajuato, Mexico toOlivia and David Cruz. His plans fornext year are to attend college, gradu-ating and finding a job. Someday, adream of Juan’s would be to visitMadrid, Spain and see his favorite soccer team play. While growing up,some of his favorites included rapmusic, in particular, the song “BornSinner” by J Cole. The movie he enjoysmost is “X-Men: The Last Stand”, andhis favorite book is “The Outsiders”.

After he leaves Hugoton, Juan willremember his times with his friends themost and how they have supportedhim. Juan will also remember his favorite teacher, Mrs. Hill. Juan admitted he does wish he would havebeen more involved in school, and theevents that had the greatest impact onhis life were being able to attend Vo-Tech and the amount of support he received from different people. Thepeople he admires most are his parentsbecause they have always been therefor him and given him the best theycould.

Zoie EvansZoie Star Evans was born August 15, 1996 in

Liberal. Her parents are Patrick and HeatherKetchum and Pamela Evans. Next year, Zoiewould like to attend Fort Scott Community Collegeto take basic classes before transferring to FortHays State University. In the future, she would liketo move to either Hamburg, Germany and have astable job as a massage therapist or translator. IfGermany doesn’t work out, then she would preferto live in Stockholm, Sweden. Because of her loveof the German culture, it is no wonder she wantsto visit St. Cologne Cathedral in Germany becauseof the architecture and how simply beautiful thebuilding is.

Throughout her life, Zoie has acquired many fa-vorites. Her favorite music is a mixture of metal,rock, classical, and electronica with her favorite

song being “Skies Over Europe” by Europeans. Onewouldn’t be shocked to learn the Grimm Brother’s folklore is counted among her favorite books along with “Neverwhere” byNeil Guymon. “Frozen”, “Rush Hour 2”, “The Matrix”, and “The Incredibles” are some of her favorite movies.

School has made an impact on Zoie and especially her freshman year Spanish teacher from Texas, Mrs. Delgado. The reasonshe calls Mrs. Delgado her favorite teacher is because she could make Zoie laugh even when she spoke horrible Spanish. “Whatgot me [about her] was when she said I was innocent and sweet. I learned a lot from her.” An event she will remember most abouthigh school is that it can be a very scary place to actually talk or be yourself because people can judge for the most simple things.When asked what she would change about high school, Zoie said she wishes she could have taken Algebra 2 so she could takePhysics as well as Chemistry. However, she did enjoy attending prom because it was fun and lively. Zoie admires her dad the mostbecause he can keep a level head in most any sense, and he has always been her hero.

Salvador Valles In Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico, February 18, 1997 Salvador

Valles was born to Salvador and Antelma Valles. Salvador is a kid wholikes to listen to any kind of music, but particularly appreciates WizKhalifa’s song “Promises”. Additionally, he likes to watch movies suchas “Warrior” or “The Sandlot”. If he had time to read a book, “Five Seasons” by Roger Angell is one he would choose.

Next year, Salvador plans to attend a community college and minorin diesel, then eventually transfer to a four year university where hewould major in either geology or education. In the future, he believeshe would like to visit Europe. His high school years have been busy withplaying sports which have impacted him the most in life because “youlearn to work as a team”. He wouldn’t change any part of his high schoolyears and will fondly remember all the activities in which he and hisclassmates participated. Though Mr. Rodriguez is his favorite teacher,the people he admires the most are his parents because they have beenable to go through life even when they had hard times.

Elizabeth Fox was born to Brandonand Jennifer Fox in Liberal. Lauren’splans include attending Tabor College followed by medical school,and, finally, becoming a doctor. Lauren’s favorite book is “The BookThief” by Markus Zusak. The songshe enjoys to listen to the most is“By Your Side” by Tenth AvenueNorth, and Lauren’s favorite musicgenre is anything but screamo andrap. She loves all movies except

horror movies. Her favorite teacher isMiss Skinner. The place she would love to visit is Ireland because it seems really beautiful and because she has family from there. The person she admires the most is her mom because she alwaysgives great advice and never fails to point her to Christ. Lauren remembers hanging out with theCross Country team on weekends at meets. She would like to change the fact that she was reallyshy her freshman and sophomore years. The event in high school with the greatest impact on Laurenis the death of Montana Beesley. Although Lauren didn’t really know her very well, it made herthink about how short life really is and that she’s not guaranteed tomorrow. This led her to reflecthow she was utilizing her time here.

17, 1996 and is the son of Jim and Stacy Ghumm.He was born in Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.Chance’s goal for next year is to become a UnitedStates Marine. His future plan is to become a policeofficer or detective. Chance enjoys reading HarryPotter books by J.K Rowling, and his favorite songis “Am I Wrong” by Niro and Vinz. Chance enjoyslistening to rock music the most. His favorite movieis “Horrible Bosses” and his favorite teacher isCoach Rod. Chance would like to visit London tosee Buckingham Palace. The people he admires mostare his parents. He admires them because they taughthim how to be a good person. The thing he remembers about high school is going to State forCross Country. Jackie is content with where she’s at, thereforedoesn’t have any place to which she wants to visit.The person Jackie admires most, is herself becauseshe has and can handle a lot. The things she remem-bers the most about high school are the stress,homework, depression and anger. The things shefeels like she would change about high school isshe would have liked to lessen her investment inthings. The thing to impact Jackie most was all thestress she had to deal with that made her bitter.

Camila FloresCamila Jocelyn Gonzalez Flores was born October 23,

1996. Camilla was born in San Luis Potosi, S.L.P. Mexico toAdriana Flores. Camila plans to attend Seward County Com-munity College, study in the medical field and work up tobeing an RN. Camila’s future plans are to work in the medicalfield, save up money, get married and later expand her family.Camila’s favorite books are “Perks of Being a Wallflower” byStephen Chbosky, “Looking for Alaska” by John Green, and“It’s Kind of a Funny Story” by Ned Vizzini. Camila doesn’thave a favorite song, because she listens to anything she canjam out to! Camila’s favorite movies are “Fast & Furious” and“21 Jump Street” and “22 Jump Street”. Camila’s favoriteteacher is Mrs. O’Loughlin, for always believing in her, evenwhen times got hard, and for motivating her to do her best andnot give up. Yolanda Hernandez is also another of her favoritesfor constantly motivating her to do her best, and making sureshe stayed on track, for always having her door open forCamila during her junior year, listening to her cry about hersituation, and lastly for always having great advice and beingextremely understanding. The place Camila would like to visitwould be her birthplace, because the majority of her family still

lives there, and she hasn’t seen them in 15 years. The personwhom she admires most is her mom because she has raised her and her sister as a single parent for most of theirlives. Although Camila has faced many challenges she has always stayed strong and never given up. She remembers that as a freshman she would always giggle with her classmates in weight class about how cute theythought Mr. Merritt was. She also remembers in her sophomore year doing the Harlem Shake in weights withMrs. Szymczak, and all the times the students wouldn’t dress out and instead attempted to teach Mrs. Szymczakhow to dance to “Mexican” music. Another favorite memory is the time she and Odalys got in trouble sophomoreyear because they decided to skip weights and hide, which caused the school to believe that they were missing.Lastly, she remembers the times in Ms. Tedford’s AR reading class with Jenny and Odalys when they would getin trouble for always sleeping and eating instead of reading. The thing Camila would change is to be more social.The event that impacted Camila the most during her high school years, was becoming pregnant right beforestarting her junior year, doing online classes second semester and not finishing her classes and having to playthe catch up game at the beginningof her senior year while also working to graduate early.

Cody GuerreroBorn April 29, 1997, Cody was birthed to Jerry

and Sabrina Guerrero in Norfolk, Va. He plans to join theUnited States Navy after school. His favorite song is “InColour” by Jamey Johnson. Cody enjoys country androck music, and his favorite movie is “Let’s Be Cops”.He wants to visit Alaska for the view. He admires hisbrother Russell because he taught him wrong and right.Cody also remembers staying up until 3:00 a.m. to gethis schoolwork done. He enjoyed becoming a senior.

Taylor FissBorn August 4, 1996, in Liberal to Andy and

Ashley Fiss, Taylor Fiss plans to attend a universityin Colorado. She wants to become an optometrist,and her favorite book is “Flowers for Algernon” byDaniel Keyes. Her favorite song is “Brown EyedGirl” by Jimmy Buffett. Her favorite music happens to be country, her favorite movie is“Grease”, and her favorite teacher is Mrs Fann.Taylor would like to visit innumerable places, stating, “I want to see as much of the world as Ican”. Austin HeckelJuly 31, 1996 in Joplin, Mo., Austin Heckel was

born to Alisha Owens. His plans for next year include living, and he plans on existing for the restof his life. His favorite book is the 5th Wave series,and he enjoys the song of silence by everyone. Histastes in music include anything except the mindlessmusic of country. His favorite film is “Juno”. Austinwould like to visit any place except for here, he admires himself the most (because why not?), andthe thing he remembers the most about high schoolis all the rude students. If he could change one thingabout his high school career, it would be where hewent to school. Manuel SantanaManuel Gerardo Santana was born October 11,

1996 in Mexico City. He is the son of Manuel Santanaand Amanda Santana. His plan next year is going toVo-Tech, and to get his certificate in auto mechanics.Manuel’s favorite book is “Green Eggs and Ham” bywise old Dr. Seuss. Manuel’s favorite song is “LongTall Sally” by Elvis Presley and his favorite music is“pretty much everything”. He reports his favoritemovies are “Rush Hour” and “Ninja Turtles”, and hisfavorite teachers are Mickaela Perez and Nora Martinez. Manuel admitted he would like to visit Parisbecause he wants to propose to his future wife at theEiffel Tower. The people Manuel admires most are hisparents because they have provided him with a strongmoral compass and given him as much love as anyonecould give. One of the many things he remembersabout school is thinking “when it all is going to beover”. If he could change one thing about his highschool career it would have been to pay more attentionin class. Kiara QuillenIn Garden City April 23, 1997, Kiara Quillen was

born to Deanna and Bryan Quillen. Though she hasgraduated early, Kiara still has fond memories of highschool such as her seventh grade year where she hadevery class with Maria Soltero and annoying everyonewith their laughter. She does believe that she wouldlike to change the fact that she should have participated in more activities during her freshmanyear of school.

Ana PeñaEstella Peña welcomed Ana into the world in

Midland, Tx. January 21, 1997. Next year, Anawould like to attend college and play volleyballwhile attending school. She would like to major insports medicine. Beyond school, Ana wishes to visitanywhere by a beach because she has never seen anactual beach. While she doesn’t have a favoritesong, she enjoys listening to country and alternativegenres and reading Homecoming by Cynthia Voigt.

In school, Ana was active in sports and countsthat as what she will remember most about schoolas well as all the memories she made with friends.Believing everything happens for a reason, Anawouldn’t change a thing about high school. Theevent that impacted her the most was going to theState tournament in basketball this year claimingHugoton’s first State title. The people who have impacted Ana the most are her mother and grandmother because both are such hardworkingwomen that have big hearts.

likes country, ballet, andusually anything she can dance to, but her favorite song is A Drop in the Ocean by Ron Pope.With her background in dance, it is not surprising to see that her favorite movies are Flipped,Footloose, and the Karate Kid Part II.

In her school career, her favorite teachers are Mrs. Gustafson, Mrs. Sosa and Mrs. Concannon. She was asked if she could visit a place where would it be and why? She repliedwith “I would love to go to Paris and experience the culture, food and landmarks. Then I wouldhead to Rome to a get a shirt with my name on it.” The people Mariah admires the most andwhy are her parents because they always look out for her and have been there through everything. She admires their determination and love for everyone they meet.

One of the many things Mariah remembers about school is the football and basketballgames, going to school dances, being on the dance team, annoying Coach Rod during Seminar,driving around town with her friends, and goofing around in the shop building. If Mariah couldchange one thing about her high school career it would have been to take more challengingclasses to have her prepared for college. Finally, she was asked what event had the greatestimpact in high school and she replied “There isn’t one event that had the greatest impact onmy life; however, joiningDance Troupe in Liberal hasbeen a big part of my life inhigh school...going to dancein the Macy’s ThanksgivingParade will probably be oneof the greatest moments ofmy high school life and Iwas glad to share that withmy family.”

Her plan for next year is to goto SCCC for two years for her LPN.Her plans in the future include work ata hospital and have a family of herown. Her favorite book is Tear of ATiger by Sharon M. Draper. Her favorite song is Sabes by Reik and herfavorite music includes “anything thatsounds good but mostly Mexican

music”. When she has time, Betty enjoyswatching her favorite movie, Annabella. Her favorite teacher throughout school has been Nikki Trejo.

She was asked if there is one place she would like to visit where would it be and why, and she repliedwith saying, “Tokyo, Japan, because in movies it looks awesome.” The people she admires the most andwhy, are her big brother Jesse and her big sister Nancy because they have always been there for her andare always a BIG support. One of the many things that she remembers most about school would be havingfun in science class with Sayra and Jose and always talking about the randomest things in life and gettingalong with all her teachers. If she could change one thing about her high school career she replied withsaying she “wouldn’t like to change anything about it; it was the greatest.” When asked what event happened in high school that had the greatest impact on her life, the reply was “When all my teacherstold me I could make it out of school and they were always there to support me in everything. Theyalways made me feel better about myself.”

in Garden City. He is the son of Marie Gonzalez andJesse Rosales. Darien’s future plans include owninghis own music studio. His favorite types of music arerap, 70s, 80s and dub step. When asked where hewould like to visit, Darien said “I would like to visitDubai because of all of the cool looking buildings.”The person Darien admires most is his mother becauseshe has always been there for him. The thing he remembers most about high school is not wanting togo. Darien said that being able to graduate is the eventthat has had the greatest impact of his life.

Jacob TeeterJacob Teeter was born April 23, 1997, in Liberal to Jason and

Jacque Teeter. His plan for next year includes earning a degree inAgribusiness. Planning for the future, Jacob is wanting to takeover the family farm. His favorites in high school include his favorite book, which remains, Hatchet by Gary Paulsen. His favorite type of music would have to be any country songs thatinclude In Color by Jamey Johnson and Somewhere in My Car byKeith Urban. His favorite movies would have to be Django Unchained and The Shawshank Redemption. Having spent the lastfour years in high school, he can’t seem to pick his favorite teacherbecause “it would be too hard”. If he could visit any place in theworld it would have be Canada or Alaska, just so he can go hunting and fishing. The person that he has most admired wouldhave to be his Dad who has taught him everything from shootinga gun to being a gentleman. The thing he will most rememberabout high school is spending time with friends and going on FFAtrips. If he could change anything about high school it would haveto be his grades. Emmanuel VallesEmmanuel Valles was born to Manuel and Yolanda Valles June

19, 1996 in Camargo, Chihuahua, Mexico. In the future, Mexico wouldbe a place that Emmanuel would like to return to because it is his home-land. For the foreseeable future, he will be attending Seward CountyCommunity College for auto-technology which he would like to pursueas a career in Denver after school. Going to vo-tech during his junioryear no doubt inspired his decision and has ended up being what he remembers most about high school. However, what impacted him themost and really drove his love for cars was getting his Mustang because“it completely changed my perspective of being a car enthusiast.”

In addition to cars, music is Emmanuel’s other love. He really enjoys any genre of music from acoustics to rock to piano music. Skip-

ping to the genre of country, Emmanuel’s favorite song is “Who I AmWith You” by Chris Young. Mixing his love of music and cars, it is no wonder that Emmanuel’s favorite movie is The Fast and theFurious franchise. While in school, he liked having Mr. Rodriguez as a teacher, but wishes he didn’t procrastinate so much duringhis sophomore year. The people he admires the most are his mother and father because they have made him the man he is today.

Paula Sosa, in Liberal. Her plan for this next year is to attenda four-year college and major in Pre-Physical Therapy. Planning for the future, she hopes to attend a post graduatePhysical Therapy School and start practicing in New Mexico.Her favorites that she has come to love in the past years wouldinclude her favorite book The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern. The place Riley would like to visit most wouldbe Bora Bora because she thinks it would be amazing to bethat close to the ocean, and the scenery on the island is gorgeous. The person she most admires is her mother becauseshe has given her sister and her everything she possibly couldand has taught them so many valuable things that they will usefor the rest of their lives. The thing she remembers most aboutschool is sports and all of the amazing times she has been ableto share with her friends. She has learned so many life lessons from her basketball coach that will benefit her throughouther whole life. Villa are parents to Edgar Villa who was born November 25, 1996. He plans to pursue a degree in Lawby starting at Benedictine College next school year. Beyond that, he would eventually like to visit Eugene,Oregon. During this time, Edgar’s favorite book wasThe Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. In high school, Edgar looks back on the wholetime fondly. He was involved heavily in cross countryand wrestling. He remembers waking up every morningto run with his team and the trips to the bathroom withIsaac. He cites his favorite teacher and coach, Nicholas

Rodriguez, as one of his role models who was always therefor him along with his parents. His other favorite teacher and wrestling coach, Brent Mahan, alsomade an impact on his life. Edgar says that the greatest impact was “wrestling practice [because]this was the hardest thing I have ever done. It prepared me for harder things and gave me the mentality that everything in life is easy compared to wrestling.” If you were to ask Edgar what hewould change about high school is that he would have tried harder his freshman year of high school.

born to Kevin and Kim Watkins. While Kellendoesn’t necessarily know what his plans are fornext year, he enjoyed his time in high school. Hisfavorite teacher was Paige Rawlings. He will remember playing football and basketball themost, saying that playing sports made the greatestimpact on his life. Katie WeaverKathryn Claire Kennedy Weaver was born

August 31, 1996 to Kathryn and JefferyWeaver in Liberal. Next year, Katie plans toattend Benedictine College in order to earn herdegree in Biology. In the future, she wouldlike to work in research pertaining to the medical field. Eventually, when she is older,Katie would like to visit New York City be-cause it is the city that never sleeps. With herlove of science, it is no wonder that Mrs. Fannis one of her favorite teachers. Additionally,she enjoys Ms. Lacy, Coach Rodriguez, andMr. Waters as teachers. In her spare time,Katie likes to watch movies such as TheHunger Games, The Giver, and Now You SeeMe. When she isn’t watching movies, Katielikes to listen to Indie Rock like Jason Mraz.

Reflecting on her years in high school,Katie cites that attending Student Councilcamp in the summer of 2013 was one of hermost cherished memories. Sadie WoodMarch 15, 1997, Sadie Wood was born to Julie

Shand and Kelly Wood in Garden City. When she hasfree time, Sadie enjoys watching movies such as GranTorino and listening to any sort of rock music. FarAway by Nickelback and I Miss You by Blink 182 areher favorite songs, and her favorite book is “PaperTowns” by John Green. The person that Sadie admiresthe most is her great-grandmother because she tookher in when she had nobody else.

After she graduates, Sadie plans to attend SewardCounty Community College to earn her CertifiedNursing Assistants certificate. In the future, Sadieplans to attend medical school to become a pediatrician. Eventually, she would like to visit Australia because the country has always intriguedher.

During her time in high school, Sadie’s favoriteteachers were Mrs. Fann, Ms. Lacy, and Mr. Waters.Cross country, study nights with friends, and eighthhour art are some activities that she will remembermost about high school. However, she would like toretake Trigonometry to earn an A in order to keep a4.0 as something she would like to change about highschool.
