History of the CFC
• Established in 1961 to provide a ‘combined’ campaign, in lieu of separate solicitations
• The largest workplace giving program in the world• The only authorized workplace giving program for
federal employees• Has raised over $7 billion dollars since it’s inception
54 years ago• 2014 campaign had 151 participating CFC’s
Common Terms
• LFCC- Local Federal Coordinating CommitteeFederal employees that act as a board of directors for the local campaign.
• PCFO- Principal Combined Fund OrganizationSelected by the LFCC, this organization administers the campaign operations.
• LE- Loaned Executive- Federal Employee temporarily reassigned to the campaign to assist in its administration
Common Terms
• CFC Coordinator- full-time year round administrator of campaign
• CM- The Campaign Manager is the employee that has volunteered(or voluntold) to oversee the campaign for a particular federal agency/office
• Keyworker- An employee assigned to assist in the administration of the campaign
• *In smaller agencies, it is common that the CM would function as the keyworker as well
