Since 2008, the California Prize for Service and the Common Good

has been awarded by the University of San Francisco to recognize

groundbreaking achievement and significant service to the poor or

marginalized. The California Prize is USF’s way of rewarding, honoring

and highlighting the work of those who share our commitment

to community engagement and public service. The Prize was created

and endowed through the generosity of USF donors Susan and

Philip Marineau.
