The Air Zoo is much more than just airplanes! From physics to forensics, chemistry to rocket science, the Air Zoo’s affordable, “hands-on” Summer Science Camps for Pre-K - 12th Graders are becoming the #1 camp choice for innovative parents looking to give their kids fun yet educational experiences! Campers participate in TONS of fun, highly interactive science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics (STEAM) based activities that show how exciting science can be! Each registered camper will be provided with full-day access to all of the Air Zoo’s rides and permanent exhibits for each day of camp, and will receive fantastic take-home items and an Air Zoo T-Shirt. Camps fill up fast, register now!

Registrations are due no later than two days prior to the camp start date. Later registrations may be accepted based on availability.

Daily After-Care from 4:00pm - 5:00pm is availble for full day camps.$10/day or $40/week

Motion Madness! June 16-17, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm *Limit: 25 Cost: $45Let’s get moving in this high energy camp! Investigate the movement of kites, gliders, magnets, and toy cars. Explore the world of inventions in our new Da Vinci: The Exhibition traveling exhibit! Take home your own Air Zoo t-shirt and kite!

Sticky, Icky Science June 18-19, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm *Limit: 25 Cost: $45Mix and make a variety of slippery, gooey, slime! Discover chemical reactions using your senses and learn about slimy scientific subjects found in nature! Take home your own Air Zoo t-shirt and glow-in-the-dark slime!

I Dig Dinos! July 8-10, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm *Limit: 25 Cost: $65Meet the meat-eaters, play with the plant-eaters, and dig up fun that campers will be wild about! Follow us as we track the smallest to largest dinosaurs that roamed our prehistoric planet. Take home fossils, an Air Zoo T-shirt, a dinosaur book, and a baby dinosaur.

Eco-Explorers August 3-4, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm *Limit: 25 Cost: $45Permission to get dirty! Explorers will sample pond life, collect insects, and learn how to care for the environment. Daily games, nature crafts, and outdoor excursions are included. Take home an Air Zoo T-shirt, critter keeper box, insect finger puppets, and more!

Pre K - Kindergarten Summer Camps

Exploration SpaceJune 22-26, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm *Limit 25 $175Ignite your love of science with cutting-edge astronomy experiences, rocket building, and astronaut training! Dynamic EarthJuly 7-10, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm *Limit 25 $145Discover our amazing planet as you encounter authentic fossils, observe glacial movements, recreate the formations of the Great Lakes using our 5 foot stream table, and erupt volcanoes! Explore da Vinci’s numerous innovations in art, engineering, flight, and hydraulics in our new traveling exhibit: Da Vinci: The Exhibition. Superhero ScienceJuly 20-24, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm *Limit 25 $175Discover the secrets of popular superheroes while exploring lasers, strength of materials, stealth, speed, and lie detectors. Meet real-life superheroes, including a pilot and a K-9 officer. Create secret identities, earn superpowers, and test your strength of body and mind! “Super” campers will take home their own Air Zoo t-shirt, superhero tote bag, and a superpowers science kit!

Nature NavigatorsAugust 3-7, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm *Limit 25 $175Explore the Air Zoo’s diverse ecosystems as we tromp through fields and forests, and splash in ponds with a wildlife biologist. Collect and identify local species, make a bio-bottle to grow your own wildlife at home, study animal adaptations in our Tracking Tigers exhibit, and meet local bird expert Mr. Charlie Mench, along with his favorite feathered friends! The week will end with a splash as kids compete in an exciting Water Olympics! Take home an Air Zoo t-shirt, field guide, and a critter keeper.

3rd - 5th Grade Summer Camps

Outdoor AdventureAugust 19-21, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm (Campfire dinner on Friday, August 21st ends at 10pm) *Limit 25 $125Learn new survival skills and enjoy nature as we prepare you for life in the great outdoors! Make shelter, create fire, and seek out clean water while interacting with experts in this hands-on field experience. On Friday, invite an adult to join us for a camp fire dinner and show off your new survival skills (campfire dinner ends at 10 pm). Take home an Air Zoo t-shirt, wilderness guide, and survival kit supplies.

Lego RoboticsAugust 24-28, 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm *Limit 16 $125Design, build, and program a Lego EV3 robot to complete daily challenges. Use your creativity in modifying your robot design to navigate a maze, locate a target by sound, and push your opponents off a challenge mat! Invite your family to be spectators at the final showdown on Friday afternoon! Note: Campers do not get to keep the Lego robot. Take home an Air Zoo t-shirt.

Partners in SlimeAugust 25-27, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm *Limit 25 $100Investigate the slimy science responsible for creating stinky, gooey, oozing blobs of gunk in our experimental laboratory! Discover the WHO, WHAT, WHERE, and WHY of slime while producing your own grotesque concoctions! Take home an Air Zoo t-shirt and glow-in-the-dark slime!

Test PilotsAugust 10-14, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm *Limit 25 $175Train like a real test pilot while exploring aviation design, stealth capability, and even drone technology through a series of exciting engineering challenges! Conclude your training by catapulting an F-14 off the deck of the “Kitty Hawk” aircraft carrier! Take home your own Air Zoo t-shirt, Dip-er-do stunt plane, and Sky Copter!

Mission Possible! Create your own camp session.June 29-July 3, 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm *Limit 25$30 for one afternoon or $115 for the whole week!

Monday: Aviation Design - Explore the science and history of aviation while launching an F-14 off an aircraft carrier, flying simulators, and testing wing designs in a wind tunnel.

Tuesday: Crime Scene Investigation - Investigate a crime scene, examine fingerprints, analyze trace evidence using microscopes while solving an Air Zoo mystery!

Wednesday: Electric Laboratory - Build a working telegraph, experiment with a powerful electromagnet, and discover how to make an electric generator.

Thursday: Tinkerer’s Workshop - Use recycled and common materials to engineer new creations, like dowel rod structures, wire sculptures, and other DIY contraptions.

Friday: Rocketry - Build and fire up your own take-home rocket while exploring Newton’s Laws of Motion and recording altitude and speed data.

CSI - Crime Scene Investigation 101July 27-31, 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm *Limit 25 $100Investigate crime scenes, examine fingerprints, and use microscopes to analyze trace evidence like hairs and fibers in this inspiring camp! Use authentic police techniques and learn from experts in the forensics field. Young detectives will also create their own crime scenes for peers to solve. Take home an Air Zoo t-shirt, fingerprint kit, CSI hat, and badge!

Aviation TechAugust 17-21, 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm *Limit 25 $100Investigate aerospace careers as we tour Duncan Aviation and WACO in Battle Creek, and learn different skills such as wing rib building, fabric covering, and cable swaging! Test your wing design in our wind tunnel. Take home your own Air Zoo t-shirt and wing rib design!

6th - 8th Grade Summer Camps

Aviation RestorationJuly 30, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm *Limit 25 $50Work with the professional restoration crew at the Air Zoo to help bring the Wildcat that was recently raised from the bottom of Lake Michigan closer to exhibit condition. Learn different skills such as wing rib building, fabric covering, and cable swaging, and take a behind-the-scenes tour of the East Campus. Take home your own Air Zoo t-shirt and wing rib design. Please bring a bag lunch.

9th - 12th Grade Summer Camps

Lego RoboticsJuly 20-24, 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm *Limit 16 $125Design, build, and program a Lego EV3 robot to complete daily challenges. Design and build working roller coasters and electric motors, and compete in fierce Castle Wars with a giant 13 foot water balloon trebuchet. Explore da Vinci’s numerous innovations in art, engineering, flight, and hydraulics in our new traveling exhibit: Da Vinci: The Exhibition. Take home your own Air Zoo t-shirt and solar kit!
